NML & Inbetweener Weekly Check In - 06/11/2018 - Getting to know you!

We have this discussion every Monday to offer encouragement and camaraderie to those in NML, basically months 2-3-4 of a quit and to those inbetweeners who have not yet made it to the 6% club. Regardless of how long you’ve been quit, anyone who likes the conversation and wants to offer support is welcome to participate!

We are happy if you just stop by to say hi and let us know you are still with us in NML.  Feel free to offer up ideas on topic question and I will include them in next week’s post!  Stop by daily or as often as you like!  Don’t forget to post to  Daily Pledge

*********************************************

This week’s topic: Getting to Know You!

If you could choose your age forever, what age would you choose and why?

If you were a candy bar, which candy bar would you be? Share why?

Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or night? Please share why you picked your time of day?

Sharing your experience, strength, and hope is a great way to help others!

ENJOY the journey!

Checking in here will help you get through NML and on your way to the first year where you can celebrate being in the 6% Club and graduate to eventually become an Elder!

Please let me know if you are interested in posting the NML Weekly Check In.  I am happy to continue it, share it, or pass it to the nEXt EXer in NML who is ready, willing, and able.

Good  morning!  Surely I'm not the first one here.

1.  My favorite age so far was 40.  I was very strong and healthy (not on any meds yet, anyway), and having a good time.

2.  I don't have a favorite candy bar, TBH.  I'd rather be a doughnut.

3.  I must be daylight.  I rarely see sunrise, I'm asleep by nightfall no matter the time of year, and I totally poop out by late afternoon.

Here's a little bonus info - I have recently discovered that deeply inhaling some really scrumptious aroma is just as satisfying as smoking used to be.  Right now it's the clover covering my backyard.  Mmmmmm.......

1.  I'm right there with you Annette.  Age 40.  I was at my best health (minus smoking) and shape and weight and I will get back there again!  I felt like 40 was the new 20!

2.  Whatchamacallit.  Hands down.  A little bit of everything inside.    $100,000 is a very very close second but needs to be names $1M!

3.  Like Annette, I am a morning person so daylight for me!

I'd keep my 38 year old body but my 68 year old brain.  I like being wiser.  Just ain't as pretty!

Used to be a chocolate covered marshmallow bar, like a small brick, similar to the Rocky Road (made by the same company, Annabelle's) but no nuts. Can't remember the name of it but I used to LOVE them.  Would keep them in the fridge.  Thin thin layer of dark chocolate surrounding it.  Why would I be one?  They're soft on the inside, a bit crunchy on the outside, sort of like me!  only a lot sweeter.  lol  Now that I remember, I believe they were simply called Annabelle's.  Named after the daughter of the creator/owner.

Time of day.... twilight.  That time between two shades, dark and light.  Lots of fun creatures come out of hiding then.  And you get the best of both words.  And the light is magical.

This was fun!  Great diversion!

1) I had my last child two months after I turned 40, I was in great shape and I remember that Christmas with a fire in the fireplace and the tree set up with presents below it and I was nursing the baby while my husband was playing "trucks" with our 3 1/2 year old on the floor.  It was like a Holiday card.  Probably my favorite adult moment.

2) My favorite candy bar is a Russell Stover milk chocolate Mint Dream.

3) Time of day is twilight for me as well...the lightning bugs are just coming out here and I LOVE them.  This time of day makes me feel like I can relax a little.

I agree, this WAS fun, thanks, Roller.

Why do you feel you are like a Mint Dream bar elvan‌?

They are soft and gushy on the inside...kind of like me...no matter how hard I might TRY to be more of a Snicker's bar.

Probably my mid-30's, we'll say 35.  I was in better shape (minus the smoking), had more energy, the hub and I lived in NYC at that time and had made a great group of friends (still friends with them, we're just all scattered across the country now).  It was a surprisingly carefree time in our lives and we made some amazing friendships and memories.

Candy bar? Hmm. Boringly enough, probably a Netstle Crunch bar--creamy and a little crispy--I can be a little crispy myself at times.

Sunrise. I am an early bird--4:30am and I am up for some reason. I like to sit outside then and listen to the birds and watch/listen to the critters.  It's so peaceful.
