NML & In-betweener Weekly Check In - 05/07/2018 Precious Quit

We do this blog every Monday to offer encouragement and camaraderie to those in No Man’s Land -- months 2-3-4 of a quit and for those in-between who have not yet reached the 6% club.  Regardless of how long you’ve been quit, anyone who likes the conversation and wants to offer support is welcome to participate!

*********************************************

This week’s topic: Keeping your quit precious

From Giulia  who wrote /blogs/Giulia-blog/2013/09/10/how-precious-is-your-quit

And me:  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/people/rollercoaster831/blog/2017/10/10/not-getting-caught-in-nml...

What exactly is the value of your quit?  And what will you do, what ARE you doing to protect yourself  from relapse? How much is it worth to you?

**********************************************

If you're in NML right now, give a shout!  Reach out and find each other!

Checking in here will help you get through NML and on your way to the first year where you can celebrate being in the 6% Club and graduate to eventually become an Elder!

Please let me know if you are interested in posting the NML Weekly Check In.  I am happy to continue it, share it, or pass it to the nEXt EXer in NML who is ready, willing, and able.

Where are the NMLers and Inbetweeners?  I know my quit is precious to me, but what about yours'?

Hello!  We had a power outage in my area this morning.  What's everyone else's excuse?

My quit is very precious to me, and by coming here every day I keep myself accountable.  I hated not being able to do so until just now.

Well since I wrote a blog about it, I consider the value of my quit priceless.  Interestingly after I quit smoking my LIFE became more precious to me.  I learned not to take my life as much for granted.  Especially just the simple act of breathing.  Probably because I saw the effects of smoking on so many.  In order for me to go back to smoking at this point with the knowledge I have, I would really have to have a death wish.  Education about this addiction and it's effects definitely opened my eyes.

Hi all.  Don't know if going on 22 days is exactly NML, but I guess I am an inbetweener.  Things are good and I am happy about learning to work through thoughts and not fighting them.  I had some uncomfortable ones this morning, but just moved forward and I believed myself when I said "I don't do that anymore".  Have a super day and night.

The 30 DOF is only a guide.  I felt like I was in NML just before 30 DOF.  Everything experienced in your first year of smobriety is a first and you will need to work through them.  Keep up the great work!

My quit is EVERYTHING to me.  I'm a very stubborn Taurus so when I made up my mind that this was my final quit, I meant it.  No going back for me.  When a memory of smoking enters my mind, I say the same thing I've told myself since 12/23/17.

I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE!

136 DOF....yay!

My quit means everything to me. Wasn’t sure I could do it the first weeks. But 111 days later here I am and I will not give up my quit. I worked to hard
