I decided on the Monday Trains I will make up my own Holidays
Quilts have a special place in my heart. I used to go to church on Thursdays with my Nana and help sew quilts for the needy. Of course I think they tore out my stitches but it was fun sitting around the quit with all those grandmas. Never felt so loved as I did on those special days with them.
So Today is Freedom Trains QUILT DAY. Share a lovely quilt
Heres some very cool ones I found.
Quilts have come along way since the days of the old block pattern and dresden plate, but they are spectacular to see no matter what pattern.
Like our quits they take time and patience to develop. With persistence
they turn into something to be admired .
Like all of you
Have a wonderful day and N.O.P.E.
Have a cup of JOE on me
Good Morning Missy, when I saw your post of quilts I immediately thought of elvan She has written a lovely blog about our diverse family as pieces of a quilt. Here is the link OUR crazy quilt.
I use to make quilts only when I was convalescing or had a job that I had lots of time to spare secluded with nothing to do. However, they were destroyed in a fire and I have not taken the craft back up. I obtained some squares from another project that I may start when I get to sitting again. Here is one that I purchased in the 80"s. it took me a while to find the picture, but here it is. Still holding on. I use it in a rocker now. I still hang mine on the line to dry in the spring and summer
.
Toot Toot I am on with 1198, I get my days mixed up sometimes. Have a good day everybody another day WON.
I don't quilt but I love crochet. The Green Bay one is standard crochet and the other three are tunisian. I've made some interesting patterns. My favorite is the 3D. Now I'm working on baskets, dishtowels, dishcloths and pillowghans for Christmas presents.
and here's to all of us rocking our own quits...... I'm lori, hopping on this train with 833 days

Thanks for picking me up this morning, Missy. I have always admired quilts like the amazing works of art that they are. I spent a great deal of time looking at ones that were on display at county fairs. I have never made one but I DO love them and we are, after all, pieces of this quilt called EX. Congratulations to everyone...if you are riding this train, you are a WINNER.
I am boarding this morning with 1569 DOF.

Thats a beautiful quilt! I love quilting but don't take the time I did years ago. I was never that good at it anyway. I did do a baby quilt that I designed myself ...it was a horse jumping over a fence and a tree in background...dont have a picture but it was not that great anyway, lol. The one in your picture is lovely! Thanks for riding today!
WOW, THOSE ARE AMAZING! I always wanted to learn how to make an afghan. I can knit but not crochet. I often go to Thrift store and have found some beautiful afghans that I have bought . It seems to me the more worn they are the more cosy they are! Thanks for riding and sharing those...the 3-D ones are cool too...Never saw one like that. We have some friends who are Green Bay fans, we have great times watching goes with them. i like the Broncos and hubby like the Patriots. We live in Ohio and gave up on the Browns after Brain Sipe and Kosar...team has never pulled it together since. Bummer
Hi Marilyn, so glad you stopped by! Have a beautiful day!
LOL, Quilters-Quitters....all the same...Thanks for riding
