Can anyone tell me why it is sad

Can anyone tell me why it is sad to think of a future without smoking? I haven’t reached my quit date yet, but I’m getting close. I just don’t understand — because I hate smoking – why it feels like life without a cigarette would be sad.

Lynda, I just visited your website.  Wow, you're famous.  I guess even famous people smoke. LOL

If I don’t get a new book out, I won’t be very famous. I’ve been working on it.

Yes, even Writers smoke. In fact, I don’t know many riders who don’t smoke. I guess I’ll be unique.

Oops! Looks like it's been a while since anyone has been in there posting(I thought someone had been in there more recently) but it would be great to see more writers quitting if it is a prevalent thing as you say.  Maybe you can refer other writers you know and that group can be woken up.

Hi Lynda.  Didn't realize you were still around.  Getting confused trying to read all the recent messages.  Do you have a quit date?

Yes. It was yesterday. I will try again for 5-30 doing it my way, which is cutting down to three or four cigarettes a day before I say goodbye. And good riddance.

Even good changes like having a new relationship, getting a new job, even having a new baby all go through the grief cycle. This is more pronounced in Addiction Recovery due to our Addictive Minds struggling against that change!

Let your feelings be and act on your convictions! You'll be just fine!

Thanks Thomas.  This is really helpful.  As a newbie, just saw this for the first time.  I think a number of us who are new and struggling at times, would find this very beneficial.
