I have many places.
I've always wanted and still do want to live in Alaska.

Their permanent darkness period would do me in, but I could live in Oeschninsee, Switzerland FOREVER!

I could just stay in the ski lodge during the winter - and revel in the beauty in the other three seasons.  The night picture doesn't do it justice - you can see a bazillion stars - literally.  Magical!

susan_m‌ I was lucky enough to go there with my mother in 1995, she was brought up there, born in Marseilles, brought up in Paris. To see her native city and country through her eyes was the most amazing experience ever.  She had told me over and over and over again when I was growing up how much better some things were in France.  After we had been there for a couple of days, I humbly admitted that she was right.  My youngest daughter is fluent in French, I lost my fluency because I did not use it.  My mother would have been thrilled to talk to her granddaughter.  She did a semester abroad and went to Paris and took classes at the Sorbonne. Sigh.

Ellen, that's wonderful. Her France, her Marseilles must have been a sight to see.  Whatever 'it' is about that country, I certainly get it. I've always thought that I could happpily live in rural France.

How fortunate for your daughter!  Mine just returned from Amsterdam. We considered Paris, but we were concerned about security. Such a sad thing.

I've been fortunate enough to spend time in various counties in Europe, but there's something about that moment when the pilot calls for the final approach into Charles de Gaulle..... I just.... react to Paris. I feel the beauty and the energy of that city when I'm there.

It is a beautiful city, I was just amazed with the sites...all over the place, I loved all of it.  My parents met in Nice during the war, my father was stationed in France and was on vacation at the same time that my aunt and my mother were vacationing...serendipitous.  My aunt's boyfriend was my father's best friend and they both ended up as married couples in the U.S.  It's a lovely place, I think I would want to live in the city because everything is there...the metro is so efficient.  I would not go there right now either because of security concerns. It IS sad, terribly sad.

Me?  I would love to go back, for a few months and live on the prairie, in horse and buggy days, with no electricity no running water, no gas, no technology!  Always has been an interest of mine!

I'd love to get back out to Western Canada to see the Rockie Mountains one more time that's the only thing on my bucket list at this time.
