I have been wondering about the badges that are earned as well as the other awards.  Just curious.  I consider each smoke free minute an award, but getting small encouragement surprises are fun.  Thanks in advance for explaining.

Each smoke-free minute is a reward.  That's the most important thing to keep you going.  Badges and points and all the rest of that "gaming" psychological incentive stuff is - well, if you want more info on that here are a couple of blogs that may help.  Be sure read the comment section too!  Badges and Points   This following second link is simply a document description of what the badges and points are for.  There is no commentary. About Badges, Points, and Leaderboards     We all have varying opinions here.  Take what you like and leave the rest is a good rule of thumb.  If badges and points work to motivate you - go get 'em!

Anyone can give anyone a badge. You can also give someone points with that badge. Badges are intended to appeal to those who perhaps want psychological rewards along the way to encourage them to push forward with their quit. Earning points does that for some people.  🙂

From what I gather, if someone finds a response helpful or likes someone else's blog or response to a blog or conversation, there are points awarded. The same for writing blogs or discussions. I have no idea what point values are assigned to what action. 🙂
