Give and get support around quitting

Well, this is annoying

I wrote a blog, but now I can’t find it.  I REALLY don’t like this format!!!!  So after well-over 900 days free, Last night I had multiple terrifyingly real smoke dreams. Now I’m irritable, having cravings and smelling the dreaded phantom cig smoke. This addiction is no joke! Words of wisdom, anyone? Help me get out of this funk!

Use the tools that proved useful early in your quit!  Go for a walk, do a few jumping jacks, play a computer game....whatever it takes.  Don't let that smoking thought stay in your brain unchallenged.

This IS a life long journey - and, as addicts, smoking memories will happen.  Dismiss them with a shake of your head, say (aloud if possible) "I don't DO that anymore" and get busy. You KNOW you don't want to smoke - so get busy doing something ELSE.

Nancy

P.S.  And remind yourself how difficult those early days were ---- I know you don't want to have to go through another Day One!

This addiction is no joke.  Don't give the dreams more power than they have.  I still have them and they used to upset me but not now. They are simply a reminder of a past life that I do not want to return to.  And you don't either.  The holiday season, the change in the weather, and upcoming milestones can all be triggers - but triggers and thoughts of smoking are not commands.  Treat yourself to a little something special today - get through the day any way that you can and remember tomorrow is a new day. Love and prayers headed your way!

To find your posted material (or anyone's) view your profile and click on content.  You can sort by latest created or date created to see everything you have published.

Also can click on home and then "read the latest updates" to see the latest blogs written by everyone.

You know this already -this will pass. Smoking will not make you feel better. Nothing is worth smoking over. You put a lot of effort into quitting and learned how to stay quit. There are no good reasons to smoke only excuses.

I am very annoyed because I wrote a comment to you and just lost it ! It happens every time I come to Ex ! Sorry can't repeat myself  and lose it again CP . You are strong, you will make it through the rough patches . I had a smoking dream the other night too even after all of these 1,036 DOF !

I expect to always have thoughts and dreams after smoking so many years.

Hang in there and MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Good advice from everyone above. Also, sounds like maybe something else is getting under your skin....not just quitting. Holidays can be fun times but stressful too. Try to relax! You have 900 DAY OF FREEDOM!!! WOW!!!! What could be better?

Stay strong.

You are doing this, my friend.  Dreams have no power over us...I read your blog about the dreams and I commented on it not long ago so it is there.  Is this it?  /blogs/cpsono-blog/2017/12/10/smoke-dreams

Love and hugs,

Ellen

that's happened to me too, just go back into your original format, let it be document, blog and start to type and it will ask you if you want your saved content
