Give and get support around quitting
It has begun. I am a nonsmoker. Carr says "yippeeee, I'm a nonsmoker." I will say that over and over today. I will remember there is no reason to smoke, none. I will remember the reasons not to smoke versus the reasons I thought I had for smoking. I will take this cold turkey and run with it. I will also continue to read Carr's book for the third time. I think it's the most important tool I have at the moment, not discounting my own decision. I will remain positive. I know there may come a moment, an hour, a day, a week, or whatever when I will want to smoke, and I will come here and scream instead.
I have no fear. I have little doubt and am working to erase that from my head. Why wait till October 1 when today is as good a day as any?
I'm a frickin quitter. Take that, tobacco industry!
I hope you don't wait too long to come back! We are all here for each other
and you can depend on the support from this group to help get you back
to where you were headed! You can do this.....especially if I can after 43 years
of smoking.
I'm back. I cannot explain what happened to my mojo, but it's with me right now and I'm running with it.
They serve that chicken at Shakey's.
If you've decided you will make it. Don't let your chicken run low again. 🙂
Mojo chicken?
I need my derned pocket bunny back.
Is that bunny a no smoking hare?
Yes, but so it my dog, so I'll settle for her.
I am so glad to hear this news Donna! We are all excited to see you are still a quitter.
Here... is where quitters never quit quitting! Does that make sense? Yes, It sure does
in the field of being a smoker.....Let's become chain non-smokers! That's what they
call me in my house now!
Welcome back my friend! Here with an ear for your yelling out an SOS, or just to Scream
through those urges!
Have an awesome day of Freedom!

Good timing on this reply. I will be reading and posting a lot today. One thing I'm doing is working on my web site (scrapstitching.com) and getting some of the posts up to date.
I need to remember why I'm quitting - there's no reason to smoke. Simple as that. All of the other reasons are textbook and apply to me as well. Thanks for being here!
Think of how much you will get done because you are NOT smoking!!! You will have more time to work on that website! Keep this site close and if you need help, post a discussion with HELP in the title! You've got this! One second at a time...
How about scrapstitching a quit smoking thingy? A Quit Doll that you can hold onto when the going gets tough and take with you wherever you go? Maybe embroider positive words or sayings on it? And your quit date, of course. If you slip you have to take all the stitches out as a lesson in what a re-do costs..... Or maybe like your mummy, this could be a life-size doll. 'Cause your quit is definitely a life-size quit. /blogs/Giulia-blog/2013/09/10/how-precious-is-your-quit
