"Why???  I dont know!!!"  Of course you know. You said as much:  I just got lazy & took the easy way out instead of fighting"  The easy way out, by giving in to our addiction is - yes - the easy way.  If you want to beat the addiction then you have to agree to a harder way.  It's agreeing to the choice of going through whatever it takes - as long as it takes -  to get to where you want to go.  You can call that "fighting" and that's certainly part of the journey, but an equal part of it is accepting the journey.  Agreeing to NOT take the easy way.  There IS no easy way to overcome this addiction.  There are easi-ER ways, certain NRTs can help.  But they alone are not the answer.  Continued education - is.

You are so not alone here in buying that pack, smoking one and throwing the rest away.  There are blog after blog from people doing the same thing.  The danger is if that scenario is recreated time after time.  And then you turn into a serial quitter.   Lesson learned, back on the horse - or not.  Something to think about.

White knuckling NEVER works...it's exhausting.  Figure out what happened, you are the only one who can.  Go forward, take hold of yourself and KNOW that if you do the reading and embrace the education about this addiction, if you plan for and commit to your quit, if you stay close to this site, you will have that amazing and priceless thing, a successful quit.

We are here for you...reach out to us before you reach for a cigarette.

Listen to what the others have said and posted to you.  Their experience, strength, and hope is invaluable.  You can do this.
