affirmation ideas

I am trying to think of something I can tell myself today to help me, some sort of affirmation. Its day #2 and my mind is racing and I am stressed at work and need focus. I just really don't want to smoke today !!!!

Say I don't do that any more. "I don't do that anymore"

On the home screen click on the box PLEDGE >Go to the pledge page and pledge.  The Daily Pledge September 2017

Make a vow not to put them to your lips.  No in your hand.  NOPE will keep you free.   You can make your own mantra that works for you. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/positive-affirmations-and-support  is a group that you can go to read and write affirmations.

NOPE - Not one puff ever!

SINAO - Smoking is not an option!

My personal favorite is, "I don't do that anymore!"

A craving lasts 7 seconds.  Remember that.  Granted, you may have craving after craving, but each is only 7 seconds long.  Wait...don't smoke.

If you get into trouble, you can always post here.  In your subject line, put HELP! and someone will be sure to respond.  Do that BEFORE you smoke if you want one.

Do some slow deep breaths  in through your nose and slowing breathe it out. Repeat as many times needed. It will help you relax and then tell Nico Demon dude you don't do that anymore and NOPE!!! Hang on to day 2 you CAN do it!!

A thought is not a call to action!

QUICK - find something in the room that is blue!  Find something that is white!

Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out...................

A crave never killed anyone.  It will end whether you smoke or not.

I CAN do this!!!

Put a rubber band around your wrist and give it a gentle slap.

Try them all - find one that works for YOU!

You can still take a break from the stress and NOT smoke!  go for a quick walk around the floor/around the building.  Swing your arms, walk briskly!

Hang in there - it gets easier!

BREATHE...deeply through the nose and then exhale very slowly through your mouth with your lips pursed.  Keep saying the word NOPE...Not One Puff Ever and remember that no crave EVER killed anyone but NO ONE can say that about cigarettes.  Craves come and go whether you smoke or not but the biggest thing to remember is that the more craves you get past...the fewer will keep coming and their strength will definitely wane.  The first days are the hardest...it does get better.  Keep repeating that...NOPE and This too shall pass.

It is really a positive thing that you blogged, that is a great step toward freedom!

Have you taken a gander at Quick Quips .  There are a bunch of them in there.  I used to put up stickies on the computer, door to the house, toilet seat, mirror.... various places that my eye would catch during the day.  There is one I still have on my desk.  I should have framed it:  Attitude STUPID!  It reminds me that I am in control of my thinking.  A quote that I particularly like is:  "When nothing is certain everything is possible."   Which, depending upon your attitude can be taken as a positive - You can do ANYTHING! - or a fearful negative Nothing is certain might mean something BAD might happen, rather than anything good.  Life is so much dictated by how we choose to look at it.  But first we must realize we have the choice.

You might also take a look at  /blogs/Thomas3.20.2010-blog/2013/03/07/positive-affirmations-for-success  in the group https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/positive-affirmations-and-support  (the first is a blog, the second the group with many blogs)

Aim for the best of you.
