Having the very worst day of my whole quit and possibly of my life.  The news of my hubs yesterday is just too much for me.  I'm so close to caving.  Any articles to help or anything so appreciated.  Catastrophic news is not a cookie cutter thing I know but it's been like a roller coaster today.  I get it together and then bam back again... I'm so… (Show more)

I read this article yesterday that was extremely helpful: Juul took a page from Big Tobacco to revolutionize vaping - Los Angeles Times  this was posted by Dr. Hays: The Secrets of Addiction   How Science Is… (Show more)

      * Posted by Giulia on May 10, 2008 at 3:38pm in RELAPSE TRAPS   I found this "poem" particularly pertinant.  Hope you who read it, do to.     Autobiography in Five Short Chapters, by Portia Nelson. My longest time without cigarettes has been 6 months, this year from January 2020 to late July. However, I turned to vapping during the second half of those 6 months, which defeated the purpose. Now I'm back, smoking a pack a day.  My health… (Show more)

(Forget who the author is so cannot make an attribution, but found this excerpt helpful long-term for my Quit.) There is another important phenomenon that happens long-term that can challenge your resolve. Although you think about smoking less often, when it does happen, you tend to remember only the "good" cigarette or the things you enjoyed… (Show more)

From the tip jar:   - Everything you did as a smoker, you can relearn to do as a non-smoker. - Triggers don't create relapses, smoking creates relapses.  Don't be afraid of triggers.  View them as learning opportunities. - Ask yourself what it was like to smoke, what it was like to quit, and what is it like to not smoke.  Which is better? - Adopt… (Show more)
