Talking about my EX this morning!

As a newbie each morning the EX community was the first place I would venture to read, research, study, ask questions and talk about my journey and hear what other newbies expressed and of course to listen to the elders. /blogs/JACKIE1-25-15-blog/2016/01/22/voices-in-my-head?sr=search&searchId=ea3d9f45-bd9e-4ecf-8f5d-42...   As newbies we often were going through the same thing, therefore we could encourage each other to keep going.  Most of us would visit the Daily Pledge and grab a hand and commit not to smoke for that day.  One day at a time was what we would vow. Together we would make it.

Even today EX is my morning go to with my coffee.  First to read my inbox. See if I could help someone that is having difficulty. Then check on my Let's Get Moving Part 3   Visit With @mikecity Good morning greeting.

I suggest to newbies, if possible, bookend your days here.  It makes for an easier smokefree NOPE kind of day.  Read the blogs of those who are successful.  Just these few things can help set the mind up for a successful smoke free day.  Get some Quick Quips to energize you.  If you don't drink coffee how about a cup of tea or hot chocolate?  Shucks a smoothie will work! A Recipe for a Forever Quit

As always, never give up, never give in, hang tough, one day at a time.  1 day away from 6 years.  Just a few things that got me here. Use them...They work.

JACKIE1-25-15 Excellent post Jackie, along with valuable information.   Like you, in the early days of my quit, I was at Ex’s first thing in the morning and many times of the day.  Even after 2 years quit, I still need to come and learn from everyone and to “pay it forward”...we have a great family at Ex‘s and the support helped me so much this last time I quit smoking.  6 years of Freedom is super a big Congratulations to you dear Jackie.  Hoping you are having a good Birthday weekend...Wishing you a Blessed Sunday...~ Colleen 783 DOF

sweetplt      Yep - I am thrilled that Jackie chose my birthday to quit smoking!  Quite an honor!

I, too, came to the site every morning with my coffee.  I never smoked at my computer, so it was a "change it up" routine for me.  It has stuck for more than 8 1/2 years, too!

Still paying it forward; the support and knowledge gained here, I know, made a huge difference in my quit on the first and only attempt at it!  My goal is to help everyone quit who comes to us.  Haven't yet accomplished it, but hope to someday!

Great one, Jackie!  I've been "bookending" my day on Ex, too, lately and checking in during the day also if I feel like it...even got comfortable using my phone instead of my laptop all the time   This is the BEST support group ever (even face-to-face NicA couldn't help me stay quit, though I did help others quit there).  EX is a wonderful group of caring, compassionate people who truly understand what it takes to quit nicotine forever.  I have friends here--people I trust who will tell me the truth, people who make me laugh, people who help me grow and learn.  I hope I pay it forward; a quit is such a precious, wonderful thing!

Love you lots,
