Thanks for sharing Dale and I skimmed through it - reading here and there and for ME -  Yes it is a battlefield of MY mind - I ask MYSELF - am i really hungry - if I am  then eat and  if NOT what is EATING at me inside - that's MY battlefield of MY mind taking MY God given LIFE back and quit living in MY past by making peace with God and ME and moving on - most of MY emotionally EATING is to shut it down and stuff all the crap and continue living in misery -  yet i gotta go with God to the dark roots that are DEEPLY rooted in ME and victim childhood crap for ME - get THROUGH the pain and let God love and HEAL me to become a whole woman inside once and for all and  I ask God for HIS HELP to face MY truth and move on - personally i do not do raw broccoli - YUCKKY VILE WEED -

Wow, what a great point, Diane Joy!

Interesting article.  Though personally it'd be hard for me to do the apple test since I don't much like apples.  I usually just chaw down on some head lettuce.  Calorie free!

Cravings. Food addiction comes to my mind. As a nutritarian I don't get hunger pangs/pain but I do get cravings for certain foods after I have the 1st bite of it causing me to want more and more of it. Peanuts, cashews and grain/seed breads are my downfall. My body is loaded with micronutrients so that is not a problem. Kale - I grow kale. I am not to fond of kale salads but I do like it in my smoothies, fresh vegetable juices and soups. So I for one will keep growing my kale.

As nutritionist, what did you think about the premise of the article?  That a craving for a particular food is linked to a lack of a specific nutrient.  I juice and did originally use kale for that purpose.  You really can't taste it when mixed with other vegetables and fruits.  Now I just use whatever green I have left from making salads.

hmm will let's see. I will try to keep it simple. For one thing if you are eating a processed. sugar, salt, flour & oil diet you probably are nutrient deficient. Brain cravings - could be related emotional eating and/or food addiction. The brain looking for a dopamine hit that both emotional and addiction is looking for.

Eliminated process foods, sugar, salt, oil, dairy products and only eating small amounts of meat was/is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

So all in all, some truth to the article.

Hi Trudy, is good to see you back here!

You are looking good dear nutritarian lady!

Kale is mixed with berries in a frozen pack sold at Sprouts, and I use it with almond milk and coconut yogurt for breakfast, and also if I make the big, full of veggies stew, there is always room for kale in that too

Hi Daniela!

Thank you my dear. Yes kale deserves a place at the table. It is a high nutritious food. I hope you are feeling much better now.

I am not to fond of almond milk so I use soy or hemp milk. Just started making my own hemp milk. I don't like yogurt but I used to make a soy yogurt in my instant pot and stop the heating process earlier so it didn't get yogurt flavor to it. Then I would drain it add garlic and use for topping on my soups and chili's. I think I need to make some.

Thanks for stopping by.
