Quit Date Set

I just joined the site yesterday, chose my realistic quit date (Sept. 25- although I really want to move it up) and am going to quit the juul. I smoked cigarettes for almost 20 years, and almost three years ago, started juuling to get off cigarettes. Now, I never need a cigarette again, but the juul?! I am really addicted. It is time, AND I am anxious, afraid of the cravings, and scared about weight gain. This is important and I am determined, and I want to succeed and be free from nicotine.

My plan is to cut down how much I juul steadily as my quit date approaches, and replace with exercise, breathing exercises, and gum, tea tree toothpicks.

Cant wait to have this in my past and start a new journey as someone without addiction. Wish me luck!

Awesome! Welcome to Ex. We are ALL here for you. Please take time to read through the many blogs. You will get alot of advise and tips. Its very important to take this time BEFORE you quit to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. This will help you through the tuff times. I highly recommend Alan Carrs book THE EASYWAY TO QUIT SMOKING. It was very helpful to me and a short fast read. I also loved to find things to keep my fingers busy. Vicks Vapor rub was a must have, it really quenched my craves. Anyway, so glad you have found us.  Stay near the site.

a good no stress way to cut down is self talk.

Welcome to da family!

Nothing about quitting has to do with luck.  It has to do with educating ourselves about the addiction and agreeing with the choice to let it go and sticking with that choice.  A little primer that may help:  /blogs/Giulia-blog/2018/03/01/quitting-is-a-skill-that-can-be-learned?sr=search&searchId=a7f1dc42-d7...‌.

Your real jewel will become your quit.  Glad you've joined us.  Stick around!

Thank you so much for the support. Already I am feeling more empowered by the words of others, and the knowledge that I am not alone. Many thanks to those who have already written and I will read, write, and give back, too- especially once I take the big step of actually stopping for good. One day at a time.:))

Again, thanks.

Mary, welcome to the Ex.  Congrats on your decision to quit.   That decision is the first step on your journey to become a non-smoker.  It's great that you've picked a quit date--spend that time educating your self about nicotine addiction and preparing for your quit.  My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX   Of course you can make it sooner!   We're here for you; just reach out if you need help.

I’m proud of you! I have recently decided to quit vaping as well with a similar device. There are so many scary aspects of quitting but so many more rewarding aspects of finally getting through it. I’m on day 2 and it’s hard and scary but having people to connect with on here has been incredibly helpful. You got this!
