New Year’s Resolution

Setting a resolution for the New Year is common practice.  Some people don’t follow through with their resolutions because they haven’t put enough thought into the commitment, and they haven’t planned enough for how they will make their new life plan permanent.  If your New Year’s resolution is to become tobacco-free, you have made one of the most important decisions you may ever make in your life.

Set yourself up for success by continually evaluating your plan.  Make sure you’ve thrown out all your ash trays and lighters.  Think about behavioral substitutes such as toothpicks, mints, and deep breathing exercises.  Surround yourself with the people who offer you the most support for your new healthy lifestyle.  Most importantly, think about the benefits that a tobacco-free life will offer you.  A longer, healthier life, happy loved ones, and more money in your pocket are just a few of the benefits you will enjoy. Be sure to share your story and your tips with others on www.Becomeanex.org

Happy New Year and congratulations for making a New Year’s resolution that will have a positive impact on your life as well as the friends and family surrounding you.
