I prefer a dog but my lifestyle makes it difficult to take care of an animal properly. No matter what pet we prefer living in a house with a smoker puts dogs, cats, and especially birds at greater risk of many health problems. Dogs exposed to second-hand smoke have more eye infections, allergies, and respiratory issues including lung cancer. NOPE No Matter what!
I like both. Have had many of each.

I like both but, until I retire completely we have cats, we get rescue cats. 2 have passed Peanut and Misty, but the 4 other are still going strong, and I also have pet allergies. They deserve a home as much as I do.

Your pets are adorable. I am a cat person because l could not walk a dog & they NEED that, IMO. I have three cats now, a feral cat who is 12+, stays in the basement at night, on a heating pad on the front porch during the day, oh, he has a heating pad in the basement too. Two house cats, Binx is a six year old male, Clementine is a 2 year old female. They are AWESOME. She DOES climb on my face when l am sleeping. He is HUGE & if he climbed on my face...it would really be bad! We used to have a dog and l was healthy enough to walk her every day back then, she was a mix, Chow/Shepherd. ALL of our animals are & always have been rescues.

I love all animals, but have had mostly cats, just as it's somewhat easier to find a place to rent with a cat vs a dog. My current kitty adopted me, as she showed up on my doorstep and stayed, she's been my buddy for going on 14 years now.
Amazing how cats just show up and steal are hearts.
I was a renter for many years I to, had a few cats, you can rent much easier with a cat in MO.
My daughter promised when she went to Australia to live she wouldn't leave them with me ...
Hence 5 yrs later ...

I have two granddogs . A Shorkie that Is often with me and a German Shepherd cross . Both lap dogs with Grandma .
I had three labs growing up and other granddogs now past on were a golden retriever and a Mini American Eskimo .
I had many many pets growing up but dogs have always been my best friend . That said my son had an amazing toitoise shell cat we adored , absolutely adored . It was his grade six gift and that cat oh my gosh lived years and years and years . Horses are another of my favourites. I had a quarter horse buckskin mare growing up . I still think they so breathtaking !
