it's not very difficult, and we''ll all help. With the new format, you can develop your train during the week, save it as a draft and schedule it to be posted on your day if need be. We all have little tips and tricks and it's not hard. Please consider conducting for one day. there's many people that count on the train every day for support. It's a fun way to post pictures or a theme for that day. There's even sites out there now that have free pictures to post if you're leery about the copyright issue. Come and join in the fun with us !!!!
Part of the great thing about being involved in this community is how much we strengthen our own quits by helping others keep theirs. The Freedom Train was started by real people who came here, just like you, to quit and stay quit. I owe my own quit to them, and to many others who took the time to help me not only when I started my quit, but every time I hit a rough patch.
Go ahead. Make a difference for someone. Conduct a Freedom Train. I think you'll like it.
Yeah Mandolinrain ! You'll be a great conductor! I know that ShawnP will get you started. Then, anything you have a question about, just ask! YEAH AGAIN.
I messaged you. I have a crazy day tomorrow but lets touch base tomorrow so I can see what I need to do. I see that Mark sent me a link. I will check it out in the morning:) Glad I can help. I just hope I don't screw it up
Aww ...honestly I want to help but am very nervous. So hopefully I don't let ya all down on Monday, but thank you for that:) Your doing a super job! I was looking over the steps and writing them down. Am going to figure out copy/pasting tomorrow .....I hope.....I may get fired from the conductors job before I even start, lol
Welcome Miss conductor Mandolinrain . I know I felt really nervous when I said yes to conducting the train. We all help each other any questions we are here to help. Um nope and a negative on being fired I screwed up and they wouln't fire me lol You will do great!
Mandolinrain Don't forget, you've quit smoking so YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! lol Nobody's going to beat you if you make mistakes. Everybody is very grateful that you've made the offer! And just think, you're going to get a little train next to your avatar name! Once you've figured it all out, you're going to have a blast coming up with ways to personalize it. You've a creative mind and will get to use it in a new way! AND you'll learn a little something about how to do things on the computer too! Copy and paste will become a breeze! I've learned so much from the people on this site about how to post pictures and clear cache, take screenshots, etc. Thank you for stepping up!
And thank YOU too Sandy-9-17-17 for offering!
I really enjoyed reading this blog! The sharing and cooperation that is visible here is awesome! An experienced quitter and a relative newbie have both stepped up to keep The Train rolling.
As the Freedom Train approaches it's 7th Birthday, it has aged in dog years! The original purpose was to celebrate my friends, and my own milestones! It's popularity quickly outgrew my ability to maintain it. But, starting with Maggie, then Marcie and LindaN, people have continued to step up and keep the tracks warm! Now Shawn continues to support the efforts of our current conductors! I just want to thank all of you!!
While the Freedom Train has changed hands, I can't help but look at it every day with a deep sense of pride! Kinda like a Father tracking the success of his child! The success has very little to do with me, but I can be proud of my connection to all of you! Thank you! Thank you very much!
Tommy
Nice post Tommy, I really like the Freedom Train, and although I don't get here very often, I try to stop in at least a 2 to 3 times a week.....and I like watching the Freedom Train on the tracks picking up all to enjoy Freedom from smoking. It is a great way to keep one's self strong and committed....and it pure fun to ride! I would certainly have put every effort into being a conductor on the day in need. One day I will be able to step up when I get those 365 days recorded and I am needed. I feel great every day not smoking!
The Freedom Train is a great way to celebrate one's quit!
Have a great day Tommy!
Sandy with 88 Glorious days of Freedom!
I am willing to help anyone learn how to copy/paste and post pictures. It is so much easier on the new platform. Running the train once a week is a wonderful way to contribute to this community!
