Time now to become United

To me this seems like the perfect time to become United.

Coronavirus does not care what color your skin is, what your gender is, what your political preference is, or your ethnic background,...it only wants to destroy you....US. Frankly I hate that democrats, Republicans exist as they do..Those of us in America are Americans and should behave as ONE...not split...but then again...thats my thoughts.

So let's make  and take a stand together. Theres more to this virus than what is being told, call me crazy, I really don't give a hoot. This virus will get worse before it gets better, you can count on that.

DO we need to panic hoarder? No. Prepared for a few weeks, yes. It's not too much to ask.

I'm not totally surprised these days. I have joked along with everyone regarding the folks hoarding TP but in all honesty, its good to find some humor in this situation.

My thoughts are looking at what I , as an individual , can do to help. Thats where I am putting my focus right now. I am going to order food from restaurants that still do delivery to HELP them. I am going to offer to help babysit little ones, due to schools closing and daycares soon to follow. I am going to run errands for some elderly friends who may need meds or food. I am going to do whatever I can to help someone else. What are you willing to do?

Mostly, I am going to pray. To ask God to watch over my loved ones, my friends and all of you and me as well and to give us direction to behave responsibly and direct our paths.

WHO will join me?

Meanwhile, I am so grateful for this site that we can encourage each other and stay in contact. and share ideas that we can help each other and our country get through this pandemic.

Loads of love to ALL of you.

~Missy

ADDITIONALLY: With over 3,000 conformed cases of COVID-19 IN USA, and numbers of deaths related.....I think if we ask the families of those who have lost loved ones, they would agree to the precautions now being made. After all, of you're dead...you wont need to go to school or work. IMO,

Yes it is unfortunate and hard of some people, but death....well thats the end. Just my thoughts, take what you need and leave the rest.

I may live in New Brunswick but it's pretty scarey on this side of the border too, schools are closed for the next two weeks so many things are being cancelled or delayed nursing homes and special care facilities aren't allowing visitors hospital visits are allowed but only 2 visitors per patient there's so much to take in I agree that everyone needs to pull together and help each other because kindness and caring is what is needed especially now, thanks Missy.

Missy,

Are you on drugs that suppress your immune system?  If so, YOU need to self quarantine.   Who is to care for YOU if you get sick?  Worrying about you!

I go to drive thru to pick up their meds and we are fortunate to have 'pick up' grocery services here also, so I dont have to go into the stores. i made my own hand sanitizer I keep in truck and I wear gloves out in public. My grandkids have not been out anywhere so we have truly not been 'exposed' as much as others.

Prayer....thats also a biggie.

I am fine. Fresh air outside,...airing house out each day....common sense and not hoarding tp, lol  Thanks for caring.

I don't think it is the amount of people contracting the virus or the deaths from it. We have a lot more people dying from other diseases. In my opinion it is the fear of the unknown. We are accustomed to feeling in control and now we aren't. How do we make plans in the year 2020, trips, holidays etc.? Is there a possibility that we could eventually be forced into isolation? That fact that we just don't know is what makes it seem so strange. At least we have the internet and great groups of people with the same thing in common like this one.

When this is over and it will end

What happens do we go back to ignoring our neighbors will it be only about us again. I'm lucky I'm on a street where we know each other and look out for each other and always have.  I remember it was that way growing up. It seemed people cared more about each other.

Well at my age (high risk group) I'm avoiding groups.  I've been to the grocery store, etc.

I believe it's more the speed of how it is being spread is the biggest concern and those numbers have already bypassed many of the other diseases. Isolation measures certainly are a possibility for all of us when we consider ho fast this virus is spreading.

This flu has a vaccine and yes it can also be deadly, but we know more about it and we have more measures in place to handle it.

COVID-19 is causing a severe respiratory distress and pulmonary function. It is spreading rapidly AND we just don't know enough about it. And while many will not show symptoms or even become that sick, or even exhibiting symptoms they can spread it to others .

Planning trips and such seem mute to me at this point. Our State is offering unemployment effective immediately to anyone in Bar/resturaunts business ( owners and staff) to help them.

I strongly agree with you that I am thankful for people such as this site, to stay in touch with.

My blog is only my opinion. Some of the info I have learned is directly from my own care team at Cleveland Clinic and OSU Wexner Center~The James. I hope I have NOT offended anyone. THAT was never my intention.

We really don't have anything to compare this to yet.  Right now we can say more people died from the flu, because we don't have final numbers yet on how many people will contract or die from the virus.
