Today, I proudly look back on 1700 Days of Freedom! I would like to take a moment to thank all of you! No matter if you have been here a couple of days, a couple of years, or a lot longer! All of you, and the "Collateral Kindness" that we share here are a part of my journey!

I would like to pass on  a few things that I have learned along the way!

I have learned:

1. From my best Friend Sootie. We do not quit smoking to keep from dying. We are all going to do that anyway! We quit so that we can live while we are here!

2. From MotherGoose9(Connie). If I smoke just one I will be back where I started! Where I started was wishing I was where I am today!

3. I do not have a habit! I have an addiction!

4. Cold Turkey works. It did for me! Smart Turkey is better! Thanks SkyGirl

5. Tough love can be a helpful thing! But if a person does not know you love them, then it is just being tough. That is not helpful

6. I would rather be a quitter who sometimes wants to smoke, than be a smoker who always wants to quit.

7. Smokers do not GET to smoke, they HAVE to smoke!

8. Tobacco companies are not responsible for my addiction! It was own poor decision to start, and my own weakness that kept me addicted!

9. I have learned how to make a comittment! I promised myself i would quit, and I had the integrity of honor my word to myself!

10. I have learned that with Focus and Determination, and the support of those who care we can do anything!

11. I have learned that I missed many of the great moments in my life while I was off feeding my addiction!

12. I have discovered the phenomenon I call "Collateral Kindness"! Helping yourself by helping others! What a way to quit! What a way to live!

13. I have learned that this is true "No once cares how much you know, until they know how much you care!

14. I have learned to keep moving forward! What we have done in the past is behind us, and "Only a fool trips on what is behind him!"

15. I have learned that FREEDOM is out there waiting for us all! We just have to want it more than we want anything else! Once we have FREEDOM, all the good things in life are out there for us!

16. MOST IMPORTANT! I have learned that a group of total strangers can come together, in a place where most will never meet in person, and find caring and compassion for each other! I have learned that love and respect for each other can grow in this place! I have learned that we can indeed find some of the most important people in our lives in a place that has no tangible EXistence! Cyberspace!

Thank you my friends,             Tommy
