I went and bummed a cigarette last night!

But, I did not to smoke it! I do admit that I took some of the tobacco and put it in my mouth to wet it! Then I applied it to my skin! Why you ask?? Well here is what happened!

I came home from work last night, and after walking in to the condo, I noticed a stinging sensation along the scar on my chest! That is the long, wide scar from my by-pass surgery last year! I rubbed my chest and it got worse! I had visions of one of the by-passes failing, and breaking loose in my chest! I reached to see if it was wet, thinking I may be bleeding out, and the stinging got worse! I whipped off my shirt and there was the problem! A yellow jacket was stinging me up and down my scar! At least 4 stings!

The only way I have ever treated bee stings, and such, was with bacon, or wet tobacco! In my youth my Grandmother always tied a small piece of bacon fat to the sting! Usually on my foot! I went barefoot a lot, and our yard was full of clover! Anyway, I had no bacon, so my thoughts turned to what I have always known! Ah! Lisa down the street smokes! I walked as fast as I could to her house and bummed a cigarette! I very quickly put wet tobacco on the four places on my chest! Unfortunately, it only worked for a short time!

I ended up having an allergic reaction! I did not have antifalactic shock anta falactic anti falactic shock  any kind of shock. I put ice on it and it was not so bad! But when I took the ice off it felt like I was being stung a hundred more times! So, I ended up at the ER! I spent a big chunk of the night there, and they got it under control! I have drugs now and took the day off! Finally. I am feeling better!

But, it bothers me that when I was hurting worst, my first, or maybe second thought, was that tobacco was the answer! My message here is this! I have learned over the past few years that tobacco is not the answer! Tobacco is never the answer! To anything! I should have known that! And I hope that I never fall for that line of thinking again! And, I hope that you never do either!

Life Free! Smoke Free! And, Tobacco Free!                        Tommy
