I have noticed, and even been reminded, that we have several strong quits in the 150 day range that are finding themselves struggling! And I think I know why! Let me say that "transition time" comes to different people at different times in their quits! Some make a smooth transition, without even realizing it! Some try to think it through, and end up running around in circles! Here is my opinion of what is happening!
At some point in your quit the support group, and family, that you found here seem less needed! Life gets busy, and you really do not have the time to spend here! This site was a tremendious help in the beginning, but you have read it all, and heard it all, and there is really no time to keep seeking knowledge! You know what we are going to say, and you do not need to hear it over and over again!
You may also notice in your 3-D life, all but your most ardent supporter have cooled! "Oh, you quit smoking a few weeks ago! That is great! Tell me, how are you are feeling?" has turned into " Yeah, I know you quit smoking 5 months ago. What kind of bird is that over there?"
You have beaten a deadly addiction! But does that mean that you do not need on-going support? NO! You still need to be aware of the fact that you are addict! You always will be! And, so will I! So, where do you get the strength to keep Free? The same place you found the strength to break Free! Right here!
Only now it is "transition time"! You remember when you first heard me speak of "Collateral Kindness"? Helping yourself by helping others? What a way to quit? What a way to live? Is that ringing a bell? Great! Because now is the time to make the transition from the one who took the kindness that others offered, to becoming the one that offers that kindness to others! Transition from being the recipient of "Collateral Kindness"! Become a Distributor! I know that some of you have started that already! But, now is time to look at this site as a place where you help others, instead of a place where you look to for help! All the help you will ever need, from this point forward, can be found in the satisfaction of other people success! Help other people reach the top of the mountain! And, every time you do, you will find that you are at the summit with them! That my friends is the magic of BecomeanEX! Our Freedom is entertwined! I need those of you who came behind me, to help me stay Focused and Determined. You help me stay Free! And, you need the people that come behind you to help you stay Focused and Determined! Your Freedom is tied to their quest! The more you help others the harder it is to give up your own Freedom! And, the day will come when you will find that you are tied to so much success that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to give up your own! FOREVER FREE! And loving it!!
