Last night at midnight, as I watched the last embers of our Summer Bonfire die away, I paused for moment to reflect on the event! The Final number was HUGE! And I want to thank everyone who took part!
1,330,621 UNsmoked cigarettes were burned this weekend! That is more than 66,531 packs! At a modest average of $5 a pack that is almost One Third of a Million Dollars!
As I read back over the comments and contributions over the next few days, I already know that I am going to find that a lot of my friends were not there! That is going to remind me that I need to do a better job of being a friend! Some of you know that a couple of weeks ago, one of the best friends that I have ever had in my life, passed away! I had not visited him in 7 years! The lesson that I am taking from that is; I need to make time for my friends! So I am going to make an all-out effort to be the kind of friend that I should be to all of you who mean so much to me! I hope you will see, and benefit, from my efforts! Until then I want to EXtend a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to everyone who helped make the Bonfire a Special event! Good night and God Bless!
