The Eve of Super Weekend

As we head into this Super Bowl Weekend it seems an ideal time to compare our battles with those of professional athletes! I have, in blogs past, looked at the similarities! Let's all look once more, and see it this one is similar or different!

It has been said that "sports do not build character, they merely reveal it!" That is one of the most memorable lines I ever heard about sports! Is it true here as well? I do not think so! I think that since the day I first arrived here, the people of this site have helped me become a better person! I have read the thoughts, and ideas of litterally thousands of people, and many thousands of blogs, and commments on message boards! A lot of it runs together over time, and it is hard to remember that different people say the same things at various stages of their quit!

I have watched us fight, like siblings, and rise from that as one family, to rush to the aid of our brothers and sisters in need!

Everyone brings something different to the table! Reading the words here is much like panning for gold! You shake through a lot of useless stuff and occasionally you find that shinning nugget! You accumulate those nuggets and take them to heart! I believe that these nuggets have the power to change you! They make you look at things in a different light! They build your character!

I know that escaping this addiction makes us better people! Do our interactions here do that as well? Does "Collateral Kindness"( helping ourselves by helping others) build character? I think it does! What do you think??

I will be interested to hear the thoughts of others on this!!          Tommy
