.......... but I could have co-starred in the movie!

I have been fortunate enough to find everything I needed to quit, and stay quit for over three years now, right here at our home community, BecomeAnEX! Now, I know that a lot of you have gone to other sites, and read books that have been helpful! That is great! I want everyone to use all the resources at their disposal to find their own personal Freedom!

From my point of view, the people that we communicate with everyday are much more essential to our quits than the words of a stranger! It seems that when someone is writing to the masses, they get a little lost in themselves! I noted that tonight in a post where my dear friend Nancy quoted Joel! I have not read Joel before, but I hear he has helped a lot of people! If you will indulge me, I will quote him!

"I am not setting myself up to be judge, jury, and executioner. The law of physiological addiction states that administration of a drug to an addict will cause reestablishment of the dependence on that substance. I didn't write that law. I don't execute that law. My job is much simpler than that. All I do is interpret the law."

While claiming not to be a judge (judgemental), he tells you his job is to interpret the law! That is the very definition of a judge's job! I believe that we must all know the law of addiction! I believe we should help each other interpret that law! And if we can achieve that lofty goal without being judgemental, then we have done a great service to our fellow man!

I believe that we are all our own judges, juries, and executioners! The judgements that we make, the sentences that we impose upon ourselves, and in the end our self-imposed executions, are indeed more harsh than any that a jury would ever hand down!

Every day on this site we live, and pass on "Collateral Kindness! All I ask of each of you is to be as kind to yourself as you are to the people here, that you will probably never meet! Unless you get busy planning to meet us in Las Vegas in May!                 Tommy
