Was it really a year ago, already? Was it only a year ago? Sometimes, I can ask either question about the same event! Does that ever happen to you?
One year ago I had the pleasure, and honor of spending Christmas Eve with our Dear Sweet Sister in Freedom, Dawn! If you have arrived here recently, you never knew Dawn! But you can see her picture on my home page!
I was able to be a part of Dawn's spending Christmas with her three daughters and two grand daughters! I was proud to help facilitate that! I thought I was doing something special for Dawn! It turned out that I was doing something special for me! I think she knew, and I wonder if the kids had the same feeling that I had! It would be Dawn's last Christmas here on earth! Dawn was a very special Lady! She spent the last few years of her life fighting a cancer that had no cure! But she never quit fighting! And, all the way to the end, she maintained an unshakable faith in God! She would be the first to tell you that whatever happened, God would make it be alright!
Dawn and I were together last Christmas Eve,and it is a memory that will last me a lifetime! This year Christmas will be a downgrade from that wonderful evening, for me! For Dawn, it will be an upgrade. She will be spending Christmas with her Savior this year! She will hear the voices of the Angels singing the Christmas Hymns and Praising the Lord. You know, looking back, remembering the glow of her face in that church, I think she might have heard them last year too!
Merry Christmas my Sweet, Sweet, Friend! Heaven is a better place because you are there!
