I wish I had a way of knowing what will really happen with this storm! I have watched hurricanes all my life, and I am fascinated by them! Here is what I do know! Yesterday the storm had sustained winds of 105 MPH! As it moves over cooler water it loses strength! This morning it is down to 80 MPH! That is still a strong storm, but the degree of dissipation is encouraging!
In Florida they had constant warnings yesterday, in spite of the fact that the storm had almost no chance of coming toward us! That is what I call the weather people selling bread, and milk! They do seem to exaggerate the potential! They would prefer to have you prepare, and nothing happen, than to have you unware of the potential! That is reasonable!
I hope you will all be just as reasonable! Watch the storm and prepare! But do not let yourself get stressed out about it! The best we can do in a battle with nature is prepare for it! No amount of stress, or worry will change what will happen!
I believe that the storm will lose a lot of it's strenght before it gets to a landfall! I hope and believe that the "Frankenstorm" will become a much more minor weather event than predicted! BUT! Go ahead and prepare for me to be wrong, but let us all pray that I am right! My prayers and thoughts are with you all! Tommy
