Almost Finished

Posted by OldBones-Larry Nov 7, 2019

We finished digging out the watering hole this morning.

The dead animals were drug out into the sands and reburied.

The water is clear and cold. That is a really refreshing drink after the water that was stored in out waterskins.

We found almost enough of the stones to rebuild all of the storage cairns.

I had some of the Bedoin harvest some of the Dates and spread them to dry in the sun.

The dried grasses have been packed into storage and is ready for the next traveler that needs it.

I received word that someone had heard of a new oasis and was headed there to check on it.

If it is close to the trail, we will fit it out as a new rest stop for travelers.

I would be thrilled to have another rest stop along the trail.

I must finish the work here so I can get back on the trail soon. I am hoping to be traveling again by mid-morning tomorrow.

Travel safely my friends.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.

Back to Work

Posted by OldBones-Larry Nov 6, 2019

I began work again this morning. I will continue clearing the waterhole.

I am still finding stones from the cairns. I am also finding trash and other things Nic and his bunch threw in to pollute it.

I recieved news that a supply of grasses will arrive this evening from the mountain meadows.

The Bedoin are rebuilding cairns as the stones are uncovered. More stones should be arriving soon to replace any that can't be found or recovered.

I urge you travelers to maintain your quit as I do with the oasis and supplies. Refresh your tools and your resolve to complete your journey.

Stay the course my friends. Travel safely and stay strong in your quit.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.

Mixed News

Posted by OldBones-Larry Nov 5, 2019

I just returned from the Orthopedist. The news is really mixed.

She said that it is a Ganglion Cyst.

The problem is that it is from the joint on the backside of my wrist. The cyst is on the inner side of my wrist.

Surgery is an option, but she said it would be a long surgery while they tunneled through my wrist to remove it.

It is also right next to the Radial Artery and could even be attached to the side of it.

There are also a large number of nerves at that point in the wrist.

The largest problem with a surgery is that I only have one artery below the elbow in both arms. If that is damaged I have no blood supply to my hand.

Therefore, she doesn't advise any surgery on my wrist.

The risks outweigh any benefits gained.

So, there will be no surgery unless it grows very large or begins giving me severe pain.

The surgeon know more than I do, so, I will go with what she says.

No surgery will occur until this thing impairs my way of living.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.

Another Doctor

I will not be on much tomorrow as I have an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon.

The knot in my wrist is a little larger and it feels to me like it is harder to the touch.

I am sure it is not a matter of if, as it is a matter of when I will be in surgery for it.

I am hoping that after surgery I can get back online pretty soon, though I will have to rely on my Left hand.

That will be very fun since I am Right-handed. That should bring up some interesting situations. LOL

I am really glad that I am now 6 years smokefree. That will really aid in the healing process.

I will let you all know more when I know something.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.
