20 YEARS !!!!!!!

Posted by OldBones-Larry Oct 23, 2014

I just wish to acknowledge that my dear friend Joan (TheOldGoat) just celebrated her 20 year milestone. She smoked her last death stick on Oct. 21 in 1994.

I also must report that she is on oxygen 24/7 now.

I love you my dear friend.

I have had many people that see me around town ask me how to quit smoking. I can only repeat what I have said here many times.

I tell them, as I tell everyone beginning their journey on the site.

One step, and then another, will get you where you want to be.

Every journey, whether it be to quit smoking or crossing the desert of NML, begins with one step and then another. I wish safe journey to everyone today. I am cheering for you always.

I want to thank everyone for remembering me on my year anniversary. I was stuck indoors for a few days and couldn't be here. I love each and every traveler here, whether they be a new one or one of many years travel.

HUGS and Love to all !!!!!

Pistol Day

Posted by OldBones-Larry Oct 14, 2014

Today I get to be a pistol. A .357 to be exact!

357 days smoke-free today. My ribs are killing me from coughing so much and so hard to try and clear my airways. I will be just fine though because I am a non-smoker now. This is just another step on my journey through life.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.

I just looked at my counter and saw that it has been 350 days since I mashed out ol' Nic.

That means that I have been out here in NML fighting Nic and his buddies for 340 days. I have quite a few scars from the battles.

I have rescued several that fell from Desolation Point at the Relapse Rocks. I took them back to receive aid for their injuries so they can begin their journey once more.

I just came down from the Mountain Cave that Old Goat told me about. I sat inside and meditated while healing from all the battles.

I encourage all the travelers in NML to persevere in their journey. The other side is so green and peaceful. You have many people over there that want to see you succeed.

Keep following the markers along the trail. Rest at every oasis to recover and regain your strength.

I will be watching for you and will give any aid I can to you.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.
