Good news about Nancy! Bet she's excited that she will be in that pool soon!!! Thanks for the update Dale
Good news indeed!
Giulia stitches and staples are pretty much the same feeling! They stapled almost half way around me when they took out my kidney! Only the tools are different!! Removing them just felt like I was in a real body shop!
But I guess either way, it is a body shop! Tommy
Thanks, y'all!
Actually, the staple removing DOES hurt. It feels like a series of baby bee stings - with some hornet ones mixed in every once in awhile. I had about 24 staples, and all but 6 were not too bad. University of MD Shock Trauma - their ER for ortho problems - is a spectacular place. Everybody (including the surgeons) wears pink scrubs - which feels - well , nurturing, I guess. I have never encountered an attitude in the staff, and everyone makes you feel as though their only duty is to help YOU. While you are an inpatient there, they treat you like royalty They served baked, juicy fish fillets and steamed broccoli - for Heaven's sake!
Lucky to have a facility like that - and appreciate it very much! When the ambulance picked me up, they wanted to take me to the closest hospital - and I emphatically told them "NO!." When they said they might be required to, I told them they could maybe get me to the DOORS of that place - but that I would hold both arms out to keep them from being able to push me through. They got the message and were able to take me to University!
I now have about 20 butterfly bandages down the wound and it's hurting like heck - but know this, too, shall pass!
Thanks for caring, all!
Nancy
Youngatheart.7.4.12 Hang in. Soon you'll be doing the butterfly in the water!
(This lady had a bite taken out of her wing but was still able to fly quite happily.)
YAY!
