Once upon a time,

when I was a kid I was at my grandmothers and while the adults were in the house I found a gallon of red

paint and painted the white fence red.

Well they were more than shocked when they confronted me and I said "you know you shouldn't have left

that red paint where I could find it."

When we're backed into a corner we don't want to admit what we did was our choice.

Nothing can make you pick up a cigarette and smoke again except you!

I was also known to oil the couch when it was squeaking.

He wanted to smoke as many cigarettes a possible because he knew he couldn't smoke in jail!

What a way to "drag" it out!

What a way to quit!

But I Wouldn't Smoke Over It

member mmnn posted their crap all over peoples blogs yesterday and was reported.

this morning, mmnn posted more spam. WHY ARE THEY STILL HERE????

Now we have new member Qwert8. Just now joined. Just now posted 3 long blogs of spam.

Shall we see how long it takes to have it removed?

Shall we see how long they are a member?

And what about member cystremoval. the person this name represents always posts the same information

in their about me. The only thing that changes is their link.

Sounds like and advert for cyst removal to me!

I'm coming up on 5 years quit!

Anyone want any advice?

Hasn't even been unwrapped and its lost 70% of it's lifesaving abilities!

Not A Week

Not A Year

You Have Nothing To Fear By Quitting

Everything To Gain!

You can choose to be anxious and fearful to quit smokin but it is not required.

Sure, you will have some rough days in the beginning trying to shake the addiction

and the daily habits of smoking. We all did.

You will feel "out of it" like something is missing or not right.

The memories of smoking are strong because of how long we smoked.

It is a process. After being on this and another site for 4 1/2 years an average of 10

hours a day listening and watching and helping,  I see it as a very definable process.

You begin to understand what is happening by learning and you must keep making the choice to not

smoke as you daily live without smoking. You will be building new memories that don't include smoking.

After about 130 days you will not be thinking of you as a smoker anymore or of smoking but very rarely.

So give yourself that amount of time without giving up on yourselves.

Here Is The Timeline Of What You Can Expect

1st week toughest

second week better

third week a little better

4th week better

5th week You think you got it licked.

The next three months are the test because you will get urges out of nowhere and they can be strong

they can last an hour or a few days, but they are rare.

because they are so surprising is why they are dangerous. they aren't any stronger than anything you've

already experienced.

You smoked for a long time.

Give yourself 130 days without giving in and you will rarely think of smoking.

and....laugh when you crave (chuckle in church)

I am just now getting back online on a regular basis. So, if I did not confirm your friendship, that is why.

If you'd like me to do that, put a note on my message board.

Quitting Can Be A Battle Of Wits!

Don't thrash yourself,  Don't choose the pit

Look up at the blue   Take in some air

Don't stand there pulling out your hair.

Without a puff one thirty days (130)   You'll see outside the smokers haze

It's up to you, It's all your choice

Might I be your LITTLE VOICE?

Chicken takes much longer to cook than eggs so the chicken must have come first.

Speaking of the hog....

Here's the progress through yesterday on "Hoggie's Hut"

Don't Smoke Over It! I Certainly Won't

No One NEEDS To Smoke.

They just believe they do.

Let us teach you to be an unbeliever

Open the freezer door and feel a blast of cold air for 15 seconds.

Go outside where you feel safe from interruption, close your eyes, feel the sun or breeze on your face for 2 minutes.

Put a large rubber band on your wrist and snap it just enough until you feel a sting.

Bite into a lemon skin and all

You new people don’t know me and I don’t know you but, I understand what you think you’re going

through and the confusion at the starting gate

I smoked for 40 years myself so I’m no novice to the habit or the addiction.

I've been on this and another site at least 15,000 hours so please trust that I know of which I speak.

Once you stop ingesting nicotine it leaves your body in a few days but

the habit is the hardest part to overcome because smoking was such a huge part of  our daily lives.

It was our solace, our reward, our comfort.

Or so we thought…

The addiction part of smoking is that of the nicotine. The nicotine hits receptors in your brain within  seconds of your inhaling the smoke. This is an instant chemical gratification that triggers the release
of dopamine, our body’s own heroin.

We all want to feel good. Is it any wonder we keep coming back for more?

So, when we want to feel good, we smoke.

Now, lets talk about the costs of smoking beside the addiction to nicotine.

We all know the monetary and health costs that result from smoking so I won't belabor those.

I've never been a believer in trying to scare someone into quitting. They can watch a loved one die  from it

and they don't get it because they are outside the the hospital or mortuary smoking right afterward.

Let’s talk about what smoking steals from our lives and our families.

Let me provide you a few personal examples.

I was in a worship band for 10 years and devoted two days a week to it plus time finding the songs and

transposing, arranging and teaching them to the group.

On Sundays, I would be in front of the congregation leading worship but as soon as we finished, I was

outside smoking. Now, I wasn’t thinking of having a cigarette while I was in worship but the addiction

made me uncomfortable enough that I didn’t feel I could sit and listen to the whole message so, I would

come back after the message to close the service.

I can’t count the number of times I was outside smoking while the bill was being prepared leaving my

family sitting at the table without me.

My daughter was heavily involved in drama and music in high school.

Where was I at the end of every act?  Outside smoking of course.

Do you see how we put smoking above everything else???

Smoking comes first. We don't even choose it. It's Automatic. It's Addiction

Smoking is a thief on every front. There is not one good thing attributed to smoking.

The addict in us gave it that power.

Now let’s talk about the habit.

The habit is created by smoking for so long that we don’t think there is life without it.

I believe every cigarette we ever smoked and the memory or emotion tied to it is rolling

around in our heads.

It’s repetition driven by these memories and emotions that make us believe we cannot quit.

That and all those brainwashed into believing they can’t do it by all those who failed.

See, these people never had a clear vision or known timetable to lean on.

They never had a place like this to help make them believe they could succeed.

I’m here to tell you there are definite, timed phases we all go through when we quit.

I’m here to tell you that if you believe in yourself and relive life without smoking for 130 days straight

You can be free.

There is no starting and stopping. It takes 130 days from your last puff.

Give yourself this gift. Promise yourself this amount of commitment.

You will finally be in control again.

Not only that, you will learn how to deal with life on its terms rather than slink into a corner to smoke.

There is no luck. Luck is for the lottery.

Much love to every one of you as you head to freedom.

We are here for you every step of the way.

Do not be fearful. Ask. Post. Learn.

Don't Drink

Don't Drank
