A Smoking Dream

I had the strangest smoking dream last night.  I dreamed that I was walking with someone (don't know who it was) and I went into a store and bought a pack of cigarettes.  I made a conscious choice to smoke.  I lit it and took a drag and it was actually quite satisfying.  Then I realized what I was doing and I threw the pack away. Then I dreamed that I woke up and was really happy that I hadn't actually smoked.  But I was still dreaming -- that's what made it weird!   Then, of course, at some point later I did wake up and the dream was very vivid, both the smoking part and the waking up part of the dream.

190 days quit today, so I'm feeling pretty good about that.  My daughter put a counter on my phone that shows how many days until I retire -- 1286.  And the good news is that I will be solidly entrenched in the quad club by that time!

I had a meeting in DC this morning and it took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to get there, the meeting lasted 3 hours, I drove back to my office, worked for 4 more hours and then came home.  I'm exhausted and doubt that I will be up for more than another hour.

Hope you are all doing well -- I see we have several newbies here and to them I say stay close -- if you ever had a really good shot at quitting, this is it.  The support of this community is phenomenal and is likely the ingredient that has been missing in your previous quit attempts.

Love to all -- and I wish you the sweetest of dreams.
