I know I don't have as much stress as a lot of people but I do have quite a bit. Health issues being the biggest stressor. Living on a lower income (but certainly much better than many) There's been quite a bit of tension in my home. It's been off and on over the past yr. but has got a lot worse. Last year when we had to move because our apartment complex got sold, we had very little time and money. I ctually relapsed on alcohol and started to smoke again. We found a nice mobile home in a small town that we wanted to move to but it was out of our budget. We also had a neighbor that is very low income and was in dire straights with finding a place to move so it was decided that he would move with us which made it very affordable. Last spring, I started going to AA meetings as I really want a sober life and almost a mo. ago, I decided I wanted a smoke-free life as well. The housemate is a bad alcoholic-everyday falling down drunk. Our lease is up in Dec. and in redoing the budget I have found that with some sacrifices, my husband and I can afford to stay here. We have told the housemate that we do not want to live with him anymore. It is truly ruining the serenity I am working so hard to get.
The purpose of whining about all that is to say that yesterday I cut down to 14 mg. patch. I feel no need to smoke. In fact I haven't even used a lozenge. My chest still feels "empty" for lack of a better word but I know that smoking is not an answer to anything. In fact by not smoking will help a lot with us paying the rent out here.
I heard back from the lady whose car I bumped into. Estimate is $150.00 to $200.00. Very doable.
It's so amazing to be alcohol and cigarette free and I know the best is yet to come!
