I am unusually torn about how to address the changes on this site. I admire and respect the minds and hearts that put it together. Educational materials are good – but creating a forum for Exsmokers to help exsmokers? Brilliant. Our combined voices are what make this great site more than just another “quit here” on the web.
The concept behind the badge program seems to have been brought to us by a different group of hearts and minds altogether. If the badges were small and innocuous, I wouldn’t have reindeer antlers on my badger-head as we speak, even with the horrid new tech issues. So, while I will add my calm and complaining voice to G’s post, I also say, TO WAR! Get away from me with that cookie cutter! This is my quit!
When I joined this site, I was not sure what to expect, or what was expected. As Maggie said, “it’s all good.” It’s not so good now, for me. I get kicked off this site about 1/3 times that I try to post a blog, or comment on a friend’s blog, or do whatever.
I say to Admin – you have missed the point. We have said, “every quit is unique.” You have said, “earn a badge.” We have said, “make this quit your own.” You have taken the narrow perspective of someone who is in MARKETING and applied it to our quits. Thank you for this website. It was great. It’s not now. I am close to done.
