Planning to get pre-op stuff done tomorrow for surgery on Wednesday. Open up surgery needed on both elbow and wrist...arthroscopic not possible. Splint/cast from upper right arm to fingers. Stand up walker (whatever THAT is) will be required.
Typing with left hand too difficult to write more.......
Emily has been using her computer most evenings, so this is the first time I have been able to check in. It's also an Apple, so not used to it or the keyboard - which makes it clumsy for me. 'The car engine is a PIA - but not something to hold us up.'
Spent some time today marveling at waterfalls coming down the San Juan mountain range, then spent a few hours in the hot spring pools...swam a few laps, did some relaxing floating.
Life is good - hope you all are, as well. Miss you!
The Grand Canyon - WOW caught a sunrise AND a sunset! Glowing red mountains below are amazing!
Sedona, AZ - WOW - red rock formations that resemble sand dribbled castles!
The panoramic view from all of the above - UN believable! Being from the overbuilt East Coast, it was overwhelming to be able to see almost FOREVER.
Only wrinkle has been a "Check Engine" light that we have to wait for tomorrow to get checked - so we have lost a day for that. It was none of the obvious things it could be......but I'm not smoking over it!
Hope everyone there is well and smoke and alcohol free as well!
I have been trying to get my Boarding Pass since 10:30....that's working on an hour and a half. Firefox updated the other day and, yet again, my printer isn't working. It indicates it's not connected to my Wifi and all indicators on my computer are that it's connected. No problem - I will just have the pass sent to my e-mail and then send it to a friend to print. ......but my e-mail is through the university campus from which I retired, and I think they are holding up the e-mail. I just tried to send it directly to my friend, and she hasn't received it, either.
I have now been on hold trying to get through to Southwest for the past 20 minutes...............................................................
(I pre-scheduled this blog a week ago, but canceled it when we moved the trip up a week because of the tropical storm in the areas we were visiting. It somehow appeared this morning and made NO sense because of the wrong dates. I edited it, but can't find it now...didn't want to worry anyone with my disappearance.)
PLEASE don't drink alcohol early in your quit - and it's not a bad idea not to go overboard with it even further along! Take this news article, as fair warning of what can happen if you over imbibe ---- (and you might even decide that "just one puff won't hurt!" Hint: it WILL!):
P.S. For those who read an earlier blog on this topic, I edited it. We pushed the trip back a week because of the tropical storm in the areas we were visiting. I canceled the blog - but it somehow appeared this morning
