I Had A Smokemare Last Night!

I am over 4 1/2 years quit - and I am STILL having one every once in awhile!  In this one, I was trying to create order out of chaos, cleaning  up a HUGE mess and rearranging  furniture in a space too small to fit it.....and I had a deadline to get it done (I may be watching too many "American Pickers!").  I was taking a break and was thinking about a cigarette and actually DID convince myself that just one wouldn't hurt!  During my argument with myself about it, I even recreated how it would taste and feel (and, unlike reality, it was WONDERFUL!).  The dream didn't actually include the smoking.

Remain vigilant, my friends!  While a dream is easy to overlook, the reality is that we will always be addicts!

I smoked until a vascular surgeon informed me of the damage I had done to myself by doing so. I quit 11 years ago, and I can swim laps virtually FOREVER now, walk most other days 40 minutes to an hour and a half. What a difference quitting has made in my life! I strive to help others find this wonderful freedom from addiction, too.
