of anyone losing their quit because they drank alcohol this weekend.  Please don't.

Nancy

It might be a good idea to get a private (non-site)  e-mail address so you re prepared for the downtime.  That way, if you have a question or need support during the downtime, you have an alternate contact.  Just send them a pm or look to see if there is one on their page.

Admin said they would give us fair warning - but tomorrow, I think, might be one of the dates they are considering.

Better safe than sorry!

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ABOARD!!!!!!!

Let's bring some food for this party!

Before I broke my shoulder in the spring of 2013, I was swimming 45 minutes of laps at the Y four or five days a week. I love swimming laps probably more than I love chocolate (which is saying something!) Then I went through the two surgeries last spring which left me so weak I was unable to stand without help, then recovered pretty much from that when I fell and broke my hip this winter.

I was not able to swim for these last two years, but have been working really hard in PT on both my hip AND shoulder. The shoulder surgeon and PT said it probably would not allow it. I wanted to prove them wrong, but was afraid to try. What was I going to do if I COULDN'T?? I just could not make myself try for fear of failure.

Kinda' like making that decision to quit smoking? I am here to tell you to go for it!

I got in a neighbor's in-ground pool yesterday and I CAN SWIM! My shoulder is allowing me to do ALL of the strokes. I limited myself to four lengths of the pool and some water walking, but I can't tell you how HAPPY I am.

Thinking on it, if I hadn't been able to, I probably would have just kept working hard in PT and then planning how to swim with the limitations presented. Kinda' like quitting smoking?

Morale of the story? Don't put it off. Just do it!

Nancy

It pretty much never is truly safe.  We hear from folks all the time who were years quit and started smoking again when drinking.

Please don't chance it.  A quit is a terrible thing to lose!

Putting It Off

Posted by Youngatheart.7.4.12 Jun 4, 2015

I planted seeds for my garden flowers. got a gro light and nurtured them for months.....but then  ...I kept waiting for the perfect day to work in the gardens.  First it was too blanking hot, then too rainy, then too cold, then..........by the time I got them in the ground today (on a cold day with showers) most of them had died waiting.

Kinda'  like quitting smoking?  There is never going to be a perfect day to quit....and while you are putting it off - you don't know what damage is being done.  My seedlings were visibile.  Your insides are not.

Don't put quitting off!  Do it NOW!
