Enthusiasm and Excitement

I love words - the way they communicate - their true underlying meaning and implication - their ability to change our way of thinking. With just a single word I have changed my perspective. One example is

We all know how difficult it is to get out of our comfort zone in general but add Addiction to the mix and it's a real challenge - simple, not easy - but doable.

Inject an Attitude of Gratitude and you up the ante for Successful Recovery from Nicotine Addiction. But I also believe that embracing rather than resisting the change of Lifestyle that accompanies smoking can also give us more Power and Sense of Self Control and Decision.

That brings me back to the 2 words I started out with: Enthusiasm and Excitement.

Enthusiasm, for example, comes from the Greek word enthousiasmos which means possessed or inspired by God. So when I fill my Heart, Mind, Body and Soul with God - however I choose to understand Him/Her/It/Them - I become excited about taking care of my own personal Gift of Life. It becomes precious to me and helps me be motivated to protect it from the destruction of smoking. To do any less than protect and work my Recovery disrespects that Gift.

Excitement is another word we can use to change our Attitudes about change and growth. Based on the Latin word excitāre excitement actually means to set in motion. We often think of Smoking Cessation as not doing when in fact, true Recovery requires that we set in motion a new, different, exciting lifestyle change. For every "reason" we had to smoke we have to find a motivation to do differently. Motivation by the way means the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. It's not lack of - it's moving forward with meaning!

Just for today try injecting Enthusiasm and Excitement into your Quit Journey. I believe you'll find that pesky Addictive thinking become overwhelmed with your Positive Attitude!

We're going forward not stopping!

Keep stacking those Days of Freedom - one at a time!

Today is Day 2941 for me.

I didn't jump here - i worked my Quit each and every Day with  Enthusiasm and Excitement!
