Over the last 20 years I never smoked more than 10 cigarettes a day and I often quit for periods of several months to even years. My idea wasn't to quit for all time! I was thoroughly convinced that I LIKED smoking so much that I was willing to "clean out my lungs from time to time" so I wouldn't have to give up my "friend" or my health! I kept saying "look at George Burns!" - I hardly smoke at all and not all the time.
Then on March 14 I was diagnosed with COPD after going to a clinic for an upper respiratory infection! ME! The guy who played all the right angles and thought he was avoiding the risks! COPD is incurable and will get worse over time! If you or anyone out there reading this thinks that they can play an odds game with cigarettes, I'm here to tell you that IT ISN'T WORTH IT! That's why we say and repeat every day N.O.P.E. - because cigarette smoking is an addiction that won't be satisfied until it kills you! The only way out is to accept that we are addicts and to QUIT for LIFE one day at a time!
