HAVING A TWO PACK DAY

AMAZING!

I once read (or heard) that smoking a cigarette takes about 7 minutes. I don't know how absolutely accurate that is.....but it certainly sounds close.

I used to, sometimes, smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day.

Two packs of cigarettes would be 7 minutes x 40 cigarettes= 280 minutes OR-------4.66 HOURS!!

SERIOUSLY???   HOW??

Today would have been a two pack day......in the old days. It was just a not so good day. And, this is what got me thinking about the TIME we spent on smoking. In this not so good day......WHERE would I have found 4.66 hours to smoke? AND---it would actually be MORE time because in the last 5- 10 years of smoking I also had to "go somewhere to smoke".......not just light up at my desk. So there would also have been the travel time to a safe smoke zone.

I thought about this all the way home tonight....sure that my MATH must somehow be off. Because how/where would I have ever found this time(4.66 hours??) on this not so good day? I felt as if I were running all day....turning this way and that....solving this problem, calming this situation, scheduling this meeting. At 6:30PM I felt I took the first deep, relaxing breath of the day. I really have forgotten what it was to smoke......to have smoking be an active, definite part of every day.

For those of you just starting on this journey, those who have not yet quit, smoking time in your day is probably still a common occurrence. But, for those of us who are quit for some time.....it is just really hard to remember.

Isn't that great????

I quit smoking in 2009 after years and years of addiction. I just became sick and tired of the whole smoking thing. This site was a lifesaver with the support I received...so as you can see, I hung around to help others. I became friends with many people....some are here now and some are gone. Welcome to anyone who is new....this is EX....we are all here for each other.
