Thoughts from the conference........

Spent today in a conference/workshop.

Watched all of the smokers sneak in and out, in and out to get their fix of nicotine.

That used to be me.

I shouldn’t use the term “all” as it sounds like there were many. There were not. The number is dwindling.

That was one of the things that really started to bother me. I was starting to be the ONLY one sneaking out…..or maybe with one or two other desperate people.

I so regretted that I was a smoker

Smoking used to be accepted at conferences…you could smoke at the conference in the halls or lobbies.

Smoking then became tolerated…..you had to go outside.

Smoking then became frowned upon……you had to go outside and off the grounds.

Smoking then became despicable and stupid…..you literally had to hide.

I didn’t want to do something despicable and stupid

So I quit.

I have never regretted being a non-smoker

Never.

I quit smoking in 2009 after years and years of addiction. I just became sick and tired of the whole smoking thing. This site was a lifesaver with the support I received...so as you can see, I hung around to help others. I became friends with many people....some are here now and some are gone. Welcome to anyone who is new....this is EX....we are all here for each other.
