WOULD YOU???

If you love music as I do, you may find that music….especially music from your past…is a trigger for your smoking craves. I am quit for three + years, but listening to Janis yesterday I was hit with the biggest desire to be barefoot, in blue jeans, sitting with friends, singing to a guitar and SMOKING! However, because I am quit for three years, I was able to brush it off easily with a small smile…..five seconds….tops!

But a line from one of my favorite Janis songs hit me in a new way and I thought I would share it with you…….”I would trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday……….”

WOULD YOU?

In 1970..…I thought it was a great line and of course, Janis is singing of love…not smoking……..

BUT, using the line in a different context, when we are smoking we are trading all of our tomorrows.  And, if you are romancing that time when you smoked; if you are on here saying…”but I really love to smoke”; if you are thinking “I just need one” ----YOU are trading all of your tomorrows for a single yesterday.

Don’t do it. It’s a great song; she was a great artist……….God rest her soul……but don’t do it.

Stay Strong!

I quit smoking in 2009 after years and years of addiction. I just became sick and tired of the whole smoking thing. This site was a lifesaver with the support I received...so as you can see, I hung around to help others. I became friends with many people....some are here now and some are gone. Welcome to anyone who is new....this is EX....we are all here for each other.
