There is approximately  a 10 day period of imbalance when you quit smoking. The more green and red veggies and fruits that  you eat, the quicker you'll get the nicotine toxins out of your body along with drinking lots of filtered, purified water.

Foods that could help you quit smoking .

Fruits such as Apples, oranges, lemons and guavas.

Veggies that help the most are cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts and cabbage.

Milk, celery, carrot, fruits and vegetables when taken before smoking, develops a bitter after taste, compelling the smoker to extinguish the cigarette half way through because of the horrendous taste it leaves in the mouth.

More foods are beans, legumes, cinnamon, ginger, garlic and  sauerkraut .

Sucking on sugar-free candy or chewing gum helps.

Depending on your diet, you can eat some salty food items like chips and pickles  etc. You can also put some salt on the tip of the tongue, which will help you to kill that urge.

   SAY NO TO..

sugar, milk shakes, ice cream, cheese, chocolate and processed or bbq'd meats, Red meats, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol. They enhance the taste of tobacco and I    repeat.....THEY ENHANCE THE TASTE OF TOBACCO!!

About the Author
I am 51 yrs old and live in the Greater Cleveland area. I started smoking at a young age. I think it was more peer pressure at that time and just a few cigarettes a day until i became "LEGAL" to smoke. I then started smoking a pack or more a day, using stress as my excuse to smoke more. In reality, I realized after i quit smoking that there is no excuses for smoking. I am approaching 4 yrs next month, but I still have to work to protect my quit. I am here on Ex faithfully helping others and in return helps me. We call it here on Ex "Collateral Kindness" here is a link to my blog, 1 yr later that explained my trials in the the beginning of my quit. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/blogs/ShawnP-blog/2013/03/14/one-year-later
