2019

I'm so glad that I finally wised up and bit the bullet and took back my life from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison as difficult as it was at times thankfully it was DOABLE and so very worth it to be able to go anywhere anytime whenever wherever and however without wondering where to sneak off to suck on a damned Cancer Stick, if you're reading this and are on the fence or you're struggling  to remain quit please know that we're all here to help you it's not easy in those early days and weeks by any stretcthe imagination BUT it's absolutely worth all of the horrendous cravings and moodswings and lack of sleep once you get to that good place in your quit then you'll realize how much better life is.....

No Matter where we are in our quits whether it's day ONE or ONE thousand and ONE or two thousand it really doesn't matter, what does matter is that we stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W because it works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of us will screw up a perfectly beautiful quit relapsing just isn't an option anymore NOT when our lives literally depends on us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE......

We all have so much to be thankful for whether it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years or Remembrance Day which is Veterans Day in the States although some days we may have to dig a little deeper to be reminded of how much we really do have to be thankful for, we are blessed our Thanksgiving here in Canada was on the 14th of October the ground and trees weren't white like this morning BUT I have to admit it is pretty and I'm EXtremely thankful that I finally wised up and quit smoking because I'm not outside freezing my butt off trying to suck on a damned Cancer Stick because I don't do that anymore PLUS relapsing isn't an option for any of us as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because it works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of will FAIL.... I'm also thankful that we haven't really had any amount of snow in my region YET compared to the last several years.

I want to thank Nancy (Youngatheart.7.4.12 ) and everyone for all of the birthday wishes I think 60 is going to be A okay especially since I've quit smoking 1,962 days or so ago our lives deserves for us to look after ourselves because if we don't nobody else can do it for us and I believe by kicking the damned Cancer Sticks to the curb permanently is the wisest decision that anyone of us will ever make in our lifetime it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination in those early weeks BUT it's absolutely Doable it most definetly takes time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it once you get to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes. Oh my gosh I almost forgot that our buddy our pal our friend our Hump Day Camel George wants to wish each of you reading this a Stressfree hasslefree BUT most importantly a Smokefree Day on this last Hump Day of November which is also the day before your American Thanksgiving let's CELEBRATE our Freedom one precious Smokefree Day at a time if you're struggling with your quit then one hour minute or even a second at a time BUT keep moving forward stacking up those precious Days Of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON.....

It's been a busy morning with lots of phone calls plus my beautiful daughter brought me a large ice cap from Tim Hortons yummy I'd already had 3 coffee so I think I'm ready for the day I woke up with a major sinus headache ugh I just took a couple extra strength Tylenol sinus so hopefully that will help take the edge off, I'm so glad that I don't smoke anymore because like most people I still smoked with headaches, colds flu and I even smoked after my jaw surgery when I was wired shut, mind you I waited until 10 days after the surgery geesh WOW I smoked after sinus surgery too but held off for a week before lighting up WOW eh!!! WHEW BUT NOT anymore because I don't do that anymore. We can and must make the choice to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W because our lives literally depends on us to look after ourselves if we don't nobody else can do it for us we need to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE.....

Finding this community back in June of 2014 was a blessing in disguise I'd just found out that I have mild copd and I'm one of those people that knew that smoking was bad and causes a host of illnesses including Cancer but it happens to other people NOT me right? Anyway I finally figured out that I'm not invincible and my desire to live a Smokefree Life was so much stronger than continuing to slowly kill myself so I read everything I could find about this horrid addiction I set up a quit date but I wasn't ready when it came so I reset it and promised myself the night before that I was never going to pick up another cigarette as long as I live and I don't break promises to anyone including myself. If anyone asked me if quitting smoking was easy? I'd be saying HELL NO!!!! BUT if you asked me if quitting smoking was worth it? I'll be saying HELL YES!!!!! Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking is the wisest decision that anyone and everyone will ever make and it's definetly the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that will keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and with commitment and perseverance Freedom is ours.....

We can and will deal with life on life's terms without the crutch of cigarettes because our lives literally depends on us to quit and stay quit N.M.W.- No Matter What, it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination in those early days and weeks but with commitment and perseverance it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it to be Free and the longer we're quit the easier it will get BUT we'll always need to remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget just how difficult it was because going back to to that horrid DAY ONE isn't an option anymore BUT each and every Day WON is a GIFT of LIFE.....

It's my hubby Marks 62nd birthday today he actually quit smoking two and half months before I did  he'll be celebrating his 6 years of Smokefree living on the 25 of April there's a great big LIFE out there for all of us without the yuckies ( cigarettes ) and once we reach that good place in our quits then we know that LIFE is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand   sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of will FAIL .....

There was no school yesterday so my daughter Mandy, Mason and I went Christmas shopping mind you she's done her shopping BUT they came and got me which was fantastic and besides having my shopping pretty much done now thanks to my beautiful daughters help the three of us had quality time together plus a scrumptious Chinese feed well Mandy and I had Chinese Mason had MacDonalds    someday Lord willing Mandy will quit smoking  BUT at least she knows quitting smoking is DOABLE because she's proud of Mark and I plus her brother has also quit, her hubby Jason also smokes BUT hey one day soon I hope all I can be is a role model and maintain my precious quit....

We all have our reasons for why we finally wised up and quit smoking and possibly you're reading this and are on the fence or maybe you're struggling with remaining quit please know that we're all here to help you in any way we can, you can quit and stay quit because with commitment and perseverance and with the right Mindset we can do just about anything we put our minds to and quitting smoking is vital to our quality of life because breathing is essential to living and as difficult as it is to quit it's also very Doable and totally worth it to be Free. I found this site back in June of 2014 after finding out that I have mild copd I knew that I needed help to quit and this awesome community was the one I picked and after tons of reading of everything I could find about this horrid addiction I set up a quit date but I wasn't ready when it came so I reset it and promised myself the night before that I wasn't going to pick up another cigarette as long as I live and I don't break promises to anyone including myself so I started my quit on July 14th 2014 and for some reason and I honestly don't know why I totally forgot about this site until my 18th day when I was having horrendous cravings back to back and they seemed never ending I was ready to jump in my car and buy a carton of cigarettes SCREW just the pk BUT thankfully I remembered this site and got on line and commented on something up until that point I'd been hiding in the shadows and hadn't let myself be known BUT thankfully when I commented lots of great folks came on line and helped me through and I never had to tear my hair out or rip anyone's face off which I felt like doing many times if someone happpened to look at me the wrong hummmmm that's probably why most people stayed away from me including my son and daughter BUT the grandchildren were safe because they were my incentive and still are to this day because enjoying the little things in life are so important and LIFE is so much better once you get to that good place in your quit it's not easy in those early weeks by any stretch of the imagination BUT anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and our quits must be top priority so we can continue living a life of Freedom.....

I wrote this around a year ago on one of my posts D.E.B.S - Decide  Educate Believe Succeed and Deena-A.-Yenni whom I really miss told me how much she liked the saying I've been thinking about her quite a bit lately along with others that haven't been around for awhile life gets hectic at times BUT we must remain vigilant whether we're on day one or day one thousand and one or two thousand it really doesn't matter where we are in our quits N.O.P.E and vigilance are KEY we must always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - just how horrendous it was in those early days and weeks OUR LIVES deserve the very BEST GIFT that any of us will ever give ourselves which is our QUITS because it only takes a split second to screw up a perfectly beautiful quit BUT with Vigilance we can smile each evening at another Day WON....

Wow there's only one more Hump Day in November yikes anyway Our buddy our pal our friend our Hump Day Camel George and I want to wish each of you reading this a Stressfree hasslefree BUT most importantly a Smokefree Day, life happens whether we smoke or not so as long as we stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W then we'll continue to reap the benefits of Smokefree living and if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that the longer you're quit the easier it will get BUT first you must go through the roller coaster ups and downs and into that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes it does take time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free and we're all here to help you in any way we can....

We all have our problems in our lives whether it's our health or the health of someone we love or the car or a major appliance breaks down life is going to happen good or bad whether we smoke or not the good thing is smoking doesn't need to be part of the equation to whatever the issue is because we don't do that anymore PLUS relapsing would just make things so much worse!!! I much prefer another Day WON to another Day ONE which would totally suck big time so let's always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget how horrendous it was in those early days and weeks of quitting smoking we must stick with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance N.M.W - No Matter What.......

Once we quit smoking we must choose to stick with our quits N.M.W - No Matter What - we must not let LIFE kick us in the teeth and and allow ourselves to relapse because relapsing shouldn't be an option anymore NOT when our lives literally depends on us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE  Life is going to happen whether we smoke or not so choosing to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance IS the KEY to a Smokefree Life......Going back to to that horrid DAY ONE isn't happening BUT I'll take each and every Day WON because Freedom Rocks big time......

I smiled when I read this quote above me plus it's true.

Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking was definitely one of the most difficult  things that I've ever done BUT also the most rewarding although I didn't realize that until after I'd made it through the roller coaster ups and downs of moodswings and lack of sleep BUT with commitment and perseverance I made it into that good place in my quit where I realized how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes thankfully as long as you are willing determined and committed to succeed then with perservence along with N.O.P.E and vigilance you will be successful in living a Smokefree Life.....

Once we decide to bite the bullet and take back our lives from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison then we must choose to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W because it works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of us will FAIL our lives deserves for us to look after ourselves because if we don't nobody else can do it for us.....

I'm running late this morning I had routine bloodwork first thing this morning ugh on fasting but I did it then I've been busy either on the phone or on messanger sorry I'm late, my daughter Mandy posted these pictures to me last night on FB of her and Mason and the Alf on the shelf they were having a blast   you can see it on their faces,  Mason put the Alf on a shelf in their bathroom to keep an eye on his Mom while she had a bath Lol as you can tell it doesn't take much to make me smile and to make me happy like Mason getting off the bus here today and spending the night and I still smile 1,951 days or so after quitting smoking because I can enjoy LIFE on LIFE'S Terms without the yuckies (cigarettes) there's definitely LIFE after Cigarettes and it's up to us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE it's not easy in those early weeks by any stretch of the imagination BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free and with commitment and perseverance you will make it through to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker Non Smoker or EXer it doesn't matter what you call it as long as you keep moving forward stacking up those precious Days Of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON.....N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of will FAIL....in order to EXperience the Freedom of livinga Smokefree Life we must choose to stick with our quits N.M.W - No Matter What so we can continue living a life of Freedom.... We must N.E.F - Never Ever Forget that horrid DAY ONE or those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON is pure freedom and screwing up a perfectly beautiful quit would be devastating to say the least.....

Life really is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand so chin up if you're struggling with your quit journey know that the longer you're quit the easier it will get BUT first you must go through the roller coaster ups and downs before things get easier...

If we want to live a Smokefree Life then we must choose to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W.....

Our buddy our pal our friend our Hump Day Camel George and I want to wish you a super fantastic day, I'm taking today as my Me Day and I'm going relax and enjoy a little downtime life can get quite complicated BUT we can put on the brakes and take a break even if it's just for a couple of minutes so we can take a few deep breaths and allow ourselves to regain control over whatever is happening let's H.A.L.T - Hungry Angry Lonely Tired,  this slogan is from A.A  BUT it works in every situation in life AND we must always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget that horrid DAY ONE or those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON is pure freedom sticking with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and vigilance N.M.W. - No Matter What IS the KEY to a Smokefree Life because it works when applied on a daily basis then there's absolutely no way any of will FAIL! If we're   on day one or day one thousand or two thousand it really doesn't matter where we are in our quits as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E then we'll continue to reap the benefits of Smokefree living......I've been overwrought for the last several weeks plus I was sick with a cold bug for awhile so over the last while I've found myself thinking of a smoke plus a drink YIKES I've got 1,948 in my quit or something like that and nearly 9 years of sobriety so I MUST make sure I'm vigilant because I know it only takes a split second to screw up a perfectly beautiful quit and I'm keeping my sobriety and my smobriety because my life depends on it all of our lives depends on us to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W....

I'm also thankful that we didn't get a snowstorm in October this year that our first storm held off until last night and I bet all of the children and teachers are thankful for today being a storm day YAY for a five day weekend since there was no school on Friday there's always something to be thankful for BUT somedays we have to look a little harder I'm also EXtremely thankful for this awesome community of awesome folks that helped me through some horrid rough patches and into this good place in my quit because I know that LIFE is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand so chin up if you're struggling with remaining quit please keep plowing forward because it really does get easier and easier with time under your belt and it definitely gets better and better without the crutch of cigarettes BUT it does take time to relearn life without the smokes BUT it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it to be Free and we're all here to help you in any way we can.....

Thank you to all Veterans.......

No Matter where we live we should never take our Freedom for granted.....

We must continue nurturing and protecting our quits so we can enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in LIFE......life is so much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes BUT it does take time to get through the roller coaster ups and downs of moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that good place boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free......

If we want to live a Smokefree Life then we must choose to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W......

I'm so happy that I stuck with my quit even though there were times that I wanted to scream and most likely did plus I know at times I'd be laughing one moment and the next minute I'd be blatting like a baby plus I just didn't feel comfortable in my own skin I felt like tearing my hair out or ripping someone's face off anyone's face it really didn't matter whos face this is all true! I had some horrid rough patches that at times seemed never ending BUT with commitment and perseverance and the help of this community I made it through and so can everyone because with the right Mindset we can do just about anything we put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for our health family and friends BUT especially our lives which literally depends on us to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W because it works when applied on a daily basis and there's no way any of us can FAIL....

I'm soooooo ready for a ME DAY hopefully by Tuesday I'll be able to have one BUT at least I'm Smokefree which has made these last several weeks much easier to handle because I don't get antsy in the middle of doing things thinking I need a cigarette   thankfully smoking isn't even a blimp on my Radar anymore Iife really does get easier and easier with time under your belt and it definitely gets better and better without the crutch of cigarettes BUT it does take time to get to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes......

Keep moving forward stacking up those precious Days Of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON as difficult as quitting smoking is in those early days and weeks it's also very Doable and totally worth it to be able to go anywhere anytime whenever wherever and however without wondering where to sneak off to have a drag, once you quit smoking and you get that urge to sneak off for a puff you can give your head a shake and tell yourself that you don't do that anymore and continue on with whatever you were doing..... If you're still on the fence about quitting smoking now is the time to take back your life and we're all here to help you in any way we can.....

I'm pretty sure everyone has totally off days when you're out of sorts and just want to scream then at the end of the day you think finally you can get some sleep and of course you sleep like crap when you do doze off well that's life and it happens to non smokers it happens to people that's never smoked a cigarette in their life it's frustrating BUT a damned Cancer Stick wouldn't help a Damn thing BUT it sure as HELL would screw up a perfectly beautiful quit! We must not let LIFE kick us in the teeth to the point of relapsing WE must stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W because another Day ONE IS NOT AN OPTION BUT EACH AND EVERY DAY WON IS A GIFT THAT WE'VE GIVEN OURSELVES SO WE CAN HOLD OUR HEADS UP AND EACH EVENING WE CAN LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SMILE AT ANOTHER DAY WON.....

I'm going out with Mark's sister Wendy tomorrow morning so I expect I'll be late getting on line we'll be visiting my MIL while we're out plus having a lunch out then get home before the snow hits ugh it's going to get messy BUT I smile knowing that I'll be inside nice and toasty and not outside freezing my butt off sucking on a damned Cancer Stick.

It really doesn't matter where we are in our quits whether it's day ONE or ONE thousand and ONE or two thousand it really doesn't matter as we all stick with our precious quits so each evening we can look ourselves in the mirror and say YAY for another Day WON   Vigilance is key to remaining Smokefree, I want to do a special shout out to our very own Colleen sweetplt on her splendiferous 336 glorious DOF Whoo hoo you're just around the corner from the awesome 6% Club you've been a true inspiration to all of us here at Ex YAY you, thanks Joni jonimarie for the heads  up you're also a true inspiration. As long as we are willing determined and totally committed to be successful then with perservence it's absolutely Doable and boy oh boy it's so worth it.......it's Not easy in those early days and weeks BUT anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and our lives literally depends on us to stick with our quits N.M.W.

I was playing around in the photo shop express app last night going through the pics and for the sheer fun of  it I found some pics of me in the different seasons, summer 2017, Fall of this year 2019 and of March break of last year 2018 just a couple of miles from where I live I think it was about the 10th of March because the kids were on break for a week and Mandy Mason and I took off for an overnighter to a fancy motel, my favorite Season is Fall.

Let's celebrate our Freedom from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison even if you're struggling with remaining quit be proud that you are you are moving forward even if it's  one minute or even a second at a time be  proud because it's Extremely difficult in the beginning BUT you are persevering so congrats and congratulations to Colleen and to everyone here at Ex.

once we've decided to bite the bullet and take back our lives from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison poison then we must be willing determined and totally committed to plow through the roller coaster ups and downs of moodswings and lack of sleep that's the only way to reach that point where we will realize how much better life is without the Smokes it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination I'll tell you there were times that I wanted to tear my hair out or rip someone's face off anyone's face it really didn't matter who's face, one minute I might be laughing and the next I'd be blatting and snotting like a baby BUT geesh once I thought about my 40 years of smoking roughly 30 cancer sticks a day it began to make sense why I was so uncomfortable in my own skin, I did alot of reading here on this site too which helped me to understand that it was going to some time to relearn life without the smokes because every blessed thing we did was wrapped around them BUT thankfully as difficult as quitting smoking is it's also very Doable and totally worth it to be Free.....

I consider quitting smoking the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that will keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's up to us to nurture and protect so we can be around for our family and friends BUT especially our lives which literally depends on us to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W.....

The rain and wind held off last night until after the trick or treating it was wonderful going out with Mandy and Mason for a couple hours last night I actually slept half decent, it's been pouring all night with gusty winds and still is but I still have power, I've been thinking alot about my smoking days or maybe I should say smoking years 40 years to be precise I used to think that smoking calmed my nerves when I was stressed I know now that is pure bullcrap I can handle stress so much easier now that I'm not chainsmoking with a cloud of smoke surrounding me and I don't need a smoke because I'm happy or sad or angry I don't need a reward cigarette for a job well done none of us need to Smoke because thankfully quitting smoking is DOABLE and it's also the gift of LIFE  because our lives literally depends on us to kick the nicotine poison to the curb permanently it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination in those early days and weeks BUT it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it once you get to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is without the damned Cancer Sticks. There's nothing but positives when it comes to quitting smoking and nothing BUT heartache and negatives to smoking because smoking kills quitting smoking is a gift to ourselves so we can enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in LIFE.....
