I'm so glad that as difficult as quitting smoking can be that it's also absolutely DOABLE I know from EXperience that it sure doesn't feel like it's DOABLE while you're in the throes of the horrendous cravings and moodswings and lack of sleep BUT with the right Mindset you can and will get through the roller coaster ups and downs and you will get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer then you'll never ever want to go back to Day ONE again BUT you'll be smiling at each and every Day WON so if you're struggling with remaining quit please stay close because we're all here to help you in any way we can BUT you must believe it and stick with your quit journey it's definetly going to take time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's sooooooo worth it to be Free so hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE..... By sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way you can FAIL and living LIFE on LIFE'S Terms without the crutch of cigarettes is super fantastic once you get to that good place in your quit so keep moving forward and stacking up your precious Days of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON......

It's hard to believe it's March 1st Friday the winds howled all night schools are cancelled again today because of the winds and the whiteouts and the treacherous driving conditions I can't remember the last time school was closed 3 days in a row although different regions around us aren't closed I know the kiddos are happy and I'm certainly happy that I'm not standing outside in these frigid temps trying to suck on a cancer nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both because I think I need that fix NO WAY BECAUSE I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE NOBODY HAS TO DO THAT ANYMORE AS LONG AS WE ALL STICK TO OUR QUITS THEN WE'RE GUARANTEED A LIFE OF FREEDOM it was -8°F first thing this morning it's warmed up to -2 now, I'm inside nice and toasty not needing to be outside freezing my butt and fingers off because I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE - N.O.P.E AND VIGILANCE WORKS WHEN APPLIED ON A DAILY BASIS .....

I never thought in a million years that I'd ever quit smoking let alone wanting to stick with it I used to joke about being buried with a Cigarette stuck in my mouth BUT that was long before I found out that I have mild copd that's when I realized that WOW I'm not invincible and found this site did the reading and decided to bite the bullet and take back my life after 40 yrs of smoking roughly 30 smokes a day with at least a half dozen half assed failed attempts at quitting smoking I know now I only half heartedly put the effort into quitting  otherwise one of those half dozen attempts would have stuck BUT this quit journey stuck with the help of this community   there's definetly Life after Cigarettes BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees you a Smokefree Life......

There's also Spring after Winter right!    I'm loving each and every Day WON    no matter the Weather or anything that's happening in life because Life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand .

Thank goodness I don't smoke anymore I honestly don't think I'd have the breath to be doing the shoveling this Winter we've had some wild Winters over the years BUT I think this one is for the record books actually I think we did break a record for the most snow since 1939 up until February 15th I think it 135 inches compared to 133 point something and this record might have just been for Bangor Maine which is only a couple of hours from me, anyway we're getting boxed in we got another 8 inches of the white crap overnight with another 2 to 4 inches before the days out.  Mark plowed his way out so he could get to work all schools throughout the Province are cancelled which at least makes the kids happy I got some shoveling done before 7 this morning but I'll putt away getting the rest done here's a few more Winter pics I just took this morning I also took a pic of the driveway to show you how far off the road we are, keep stacking up those precious DOF everyone N.M.W. because our lives are worth so much more than the damned Cancer Sticks & breathing is essential to living & I can tell you through EXperience  that it's much easier to breathe during strenuous activities like shoveling as an EXer, I honestly don't think I could do the shoveling today if I was still smoking!

Smokefree Sunday

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Feb 24, 2019

I just came from the bonfire and took some coffee and tossed in another 30 of the yuckies into the fire to help keep it burning I much prefer bonfires to snow  but thankfully I'm secure in my quit so I'll keep stacking up my precious DOF- Days Of Freedom with a huge smile on my face because once we get to that good place in our quit there's No going backwards to that horrid DAY ONE - N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance - gives each of us LIFE OF FREEDOM all we have to do is Stick with our quits N.M.W so we can reap the benefits of being an Ex Smoker Non Smoker or EXer it doesn't matter what we call as long as we remain Smokefree N.M.W - No Matter What.....

I prefer the bonfire pic compared to the snow pic I took yesterday of my grandson Mason in my yard but it was a beautiful day and we had a great time with no smoking because I don't do that anymore and I am EXremely thankful to living LIFE on LIFE'S Terms .... Mason is still sleeping this morning.....

Life can & will toss us curve balls &  kick us in the the teeth at times BUT it's going to happen whether we smoke or not and choosing to remain Smokefree N.M.W. - No Matter What - is definitely difficult to say the least but it's also very Doable plus we're giving ourselves the gift of LIFE which Lord willing will be a much better quality of living so we can enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things so sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance guarantees us a lifetime of Freedom...... I've been a little down the last couple of weeks and getting exhausted from all of the snow and the shoveling  and the frigid temps, I was talking to our friend Chris Christine13 last night she called me because she noticed that I haven't been on line as much which meant the world to me that she noticed so I got thinking and told her that I believe it's because I'm getting a bit shack Wacky  and  am impatiently waiting for Spring and since I have no desire to smoke because I don't do that anymore I've been keeping EXtra busy by baking more and trying to Spring clean just like quitting smoking keeping the mind as well as your hands occupied really does help in pretty much every thing and living LIFE on LIFE'S Terms really is super fantastic ......

The first several weeks of quitting smoking definetly isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination and it sure doesn't feel like pure Freedom BUT you must stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance and continue to move forward stacking up those precious DOF and with time under your belt you'll definitely get to that point where you know that Freedom Rocks.

I'm so thankful that I found this site because I learned from this community of awesome folks that as difficult as quitting smoking can be it's absolutely DOABLE  I did the reading that was suggested here and I blogged everyday sometimes twice a day and I still do   I'm so thankful that I am FREE from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison and if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can and will make it through the horrendous rough patches BUT you must believe it and stick with your quit journey it does get easier and easier with time under your belt and if you stop and think about how many decades upon decades you smoked and how every blessed thing you did was wrapped around the damned Cancer Sticks then you'll realize it's bound to take time to relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes BUT it's worth every bit of the horrid moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer, I still smile at each and every Day WON......

Our buddy our pal our friend the Hump Day Camel George isn't impressed with the temps being - 13 °F  at 6:30 this morning but neither was I, another storm is rolling through overnight so I keep reminding myself that Spring is coming probably later than sooner  BUT it's coming no matter the Weather or anything that's happening in life we are EXers  and as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then we're guaranteed a life of Freedom and there's absolutely no way we can Fail I know that in those early days and weeks of quitting that it can be EXtremely difficult to say the least BUT it's also very Doable and totally worth it so hang on tight and don't let go because you will get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer BUT you must believe it and stick with your quit journey.....I've been cranking the music up a lot more lately while I'm going about my household chores trying to shake off the Winter blues and it's helping to pick up my frame of mind up thankfully a thought of just one cigarette isn't even a blimp on my Radar because I don't do that anymore plus I know just ONE would screw up a perfectly beautiful quit so that isn't happening  I'll never allow myself to become lazy and complacent and lose the best gift that I'll ever give myself which is the gift of LIFE! Let's always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget that horrid DAY ONE because going back would totally suck big time but another Day WON is totally super fantastic.....

D.E.B.S. - Decide Educate Believe Succeed, once you get the right Mindset you'll be committed to perservere through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings & lack of sleep to get to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is as an EXer & you'll be so glad that you stuck with your quit journey.  Believe me when I say I remember my early days and weeks of quitting smoking and having many horrendous cravings where I felt like I was crawling right out of my own skin BUT I knew that I was going to make it through because of all  the reading that I did here on this site that helped me understand this horrid addiction it definitely wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination BUT it was DOABLE & so very worth it to be Free & to be able to go anywhere anytime whenever wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a damned cancer stick, Quitting smoking is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our quality of life because breathing is essential living.....

Thankfully quitting smoking is absolutely DOABLE EXtremely difficult to say the least BUT if you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the cigarettes because every blessed thing we did was wrapped around the them so chin up deep breaths and keep moving forward stacking up those precious DOF - Days Of Freedom because the longer you're quit the easier it will get and then you can and will be reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker or EXer or Non Smoker or whatever you want to call it as long as you're not smoking then you are living a life of Freedom which is the gift of LIFE.......

It's going to be another gorgeous sunshiny day it's 10°F this morning I'm hoping it'll get up to 31 degrees like yesterday it was a great day to get outside to get some fresh air Mark cleaned the roof of the shop off for the second time this Winter and tried to push the banks back with the Super M tractor, we are sooooooo ready for Spring  but it'll get here when it gets here I'm secure in my quit so therefore the weather or anything else that's happening won't screw up my perfectly beautiful quit relapsing isn't even a blimp on my Radar because I don't do anymore as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way any of us can FAIL besides Living LIFE on LIFE'S Terms is awesome BUT if you happen to be struggling with remaining quit please keep moving forward stacking up your precious Days of Freedom because once you get to that good place in your quit you'll be sooooooo glad that you stuck with your precious quit journey......

The top pic is from the front yard and the other pics are the shop and the back of the house in the back yard our 15 year old Samantha Digger Jane Hartley is in her run watching Mark shoveling the shop roof off, Mark will have 5 years of Smokefree living on the 25th of April and on the 14th of July I'll be celebrating 5 glorious years of Freedom as long as I or any of us - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - that horrid DAY ONE or those early days and weeks of quitting smoking so let's never ever let ourselves become lazy and complacent and lose the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE   Life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand ! Let's say YAY for each and every Day WON. .....

if you haven't reached the UMPH yet you will as long as you stick with your quit journey and it's one heck of an AHA moment when you get there because you'll never ever want to go back to Day ONE again only Days WON will do.

This has been a very long Winter BUT at the same time it's zooming right along which makes me EXtremely happy that 1,677 glorious days ago was day ONE of my precious quit journey with all of the reading that I did here prior to my first day plus setting up my quit date and then resetting it  because I wasn't quite ready so I read more and got my mindset to where I knew that I was going to be successful so I turned my Day ONE into DAY WON and continued to plow through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep BELIEVE ME when I say those first several weeks of my quit wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination for instance we had a very good friend die of cancer at the wake were several people we knew standing outside smoking I was holding my hubby's hand so tight it was like I was having an outer body EXperience to join those people BUT - N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever & Vigilance was giving me a life of Freedom because I knew from all of the reading that I was going to make it through no matter how difficult it was and so can YOU.  Our quits are firmly in our grasp and it's up to us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the Gift of LIFE and our lives deserves for us to look after ourselves because if we don't nobody else can do it for us, WOW I'm remembering around my 30 day mark which I blogged about my younger sister calling and stressing me out so bad that I  hung up on her and threw my phone across the room luckily I didn't break it, WOW I wanted a smoke so bad I felt like tearing my hair out or ripping someone's face off anyone's face it really didn't matter who's face it was BUT instead I came here for HELP because I knew there'd be someone here which there was please remember that for yourselves blog HELP and someone or many of us will be to help you in any way we can so keep moving forward you will get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer then you'll never ever want to go back to Day ONE again BUT Each and every Day WON Rocks......

I am celebrating 8 years of sobriety today I actually didn't plan to quit drinking on Valentine's day BUT it's just how it worked because I was tired of feeling like crap so I get double gifts each year, nothing big but I get the acknowledgement & the congrats which is worth so much plus I get chocolate yeah for the chocolate and come July 14th I'll be celebrating 5 years of smobriety BUT my hubby Mark will be celebrating his 5 years of Smokefree living on the 25th of April because he wised up and quit smoking before I did it wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination BUT it was DOABLE and so very worth it to be Free.....

Quitting smoking is is one of the most difficult things to do BUT with commitment and perseverance it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance then there's no way we can FAIL and our LIVES are worth so much more than the Damned Cancer Sticks anyway we're getting a massive storm Mark is plowing so he can get out of the yard to go to work Mason spent the night last night because we figured school would be cancelled which they are they'll be lots of shoveling to do today BUT they'll be no cigarette breaks because Thank goodness I wised up and quit smoking  so I won't be leaning against the scoop coughing and choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both because I think I need that fix NO WAY BECAUSE I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE, NOBODY HAS TO DO THAT ANYMORE ..... NEVER ANOTHER DAY ONE BUT YAY FOR EACH AND EVERY DAY WON......our buddy our pal our friend George the Hump Day Camel is also waiting patiently for Spring .....

I'm wishing everyone a hasslefree Stressfree but most importantly a Smokefree day but just in case today happens to be stressful and full of hassles take a deep breath and keep your mind as well as your hands occupied and continue to move forward in your precious quit journey so you'll end the day Smokefree and you can say YAY for another Day WON, life is full of ups and downs whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke is the gift of LIFE...... if you're reading this and you're struggling with remaining quit please stay close because we're all here to help you in any way we can......

I consider quitting smoking the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our quality of life because breathing is essential to living, believe me when I say I remember my early days and weeks of my quit so if anyone asked me if quitting smoking was easy? I'll be saying HELL NO!!!! BUT if I was asked if quitting smoking was worth it? I'll be smiling and saying HELL YES!!!! Once we stop and think about how many decades we smoked and realize that every blessed thing we did was wrapped around the smokes it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free keep moving forward stacking up those precious DOF  - Days Of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON......
