2018

My hubby Mark is off to work and my youngest grandson Mason is still sleeping he came over yesterday morning to spend the night with Gram and Gramp  well friends we're heading into a new year let's be EXtra Vigilant today and tonight and go into 2019 with our quits still in tact and if you're going into DAY ONE of your quit tomorrow please know that you can and will end your Day being WON, believe it deep breaths and know that we're all here to help you in any way we can and if you're struggling keep moving forward and stacking up your precious DOF - Days of Freedom it will get easier and easier with time under your BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees you a LIFE of Freedom as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE, let's go into 2019 with a smile.

I notice the little things in life and I started noticing them way back in my early months of quitting smoking there's so much more to life than the damned Cancer Sticks once you've committed yourself to your quit and you stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way you can FAIL, once you've plowed through the rough patches you'll be reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker, Non Smoker or EXer it doesn't matter what you call it as long as you stick with your quit  so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON it's great to get up to see another sunrise and even greater to snap a pic of it without even a sip of coffee and even greater than that is being able to function without the crutch of cigarettes and going into 2019 smiling because life just keeps getting better and better without the smokes, it's definetly not easy by any stretch of the imagination BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free and besides anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health

family and friends but especially your LIFE .....

Wow 2019 is almost here I'm hoping it'll go a little slower than 2018 at least Spring, Summer and Fall, I really wouldn't mind Winter zooming by BUT this is the one Season that likes to drag on and on BUT that's A OK because I'm not outside freezing my butt off trying to suck on a yucky (cigarette) coughing and choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both thanks to the help of this community I don't do that anymore and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that as difficult as quitting smoking can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it and once you've plowed through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer then you'll never ever want to go back to Day ONE again BUT Each and every Day WON is the gift of LIFE which I'm so thankful for .....

If you're reading this and you're on the fence about quitting smoking now is the time to join the ranks of being an EXer as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so hang on tight and know that you can and will be successful one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour, minute or even a second at a time, deep breaths and keep moving forward stacking up your precious DOF - Days of Freedom sticking with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and vigilance guarantees you a Smokefree Life so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON.....

As difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE our lives literally depends on us to quit and stay quit - N.M.W - No Matter What and it's up to us to look after ourselves because if we don't nobody else can do it for us plus anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list so we can be around to enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in LIFE.....

I consider quitting smoking the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees us a Smokefree Life let's treasure our quits by remaining on guard especially during the holidays, I really hope everyone made it through Christmas and now New Year's is upon us so it's a good idea for all of us to be on guard and not allow ourselves to become complacent because we all know that it only takes a split second to screw up a perfectly beautiful quit so relapsing isn't an option BUT continuing to move forward into 2019 sounds like one Hell of a plan because LIFE really is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand BUT we must choose to stick with our quits no matter what so we can reap the benefits of being an Ex Smoker, Non Smoker or EXer it doesn't matter how we label it as long as we are Free from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison..... YIKES I just realized it's Hump Day plus it's the last Hump Day of 2018 let's keep stacking up those precious DOF so each evening we can say YAY for another Day WON into 2019 and beyond......

Merry Christmas to each of you reading this, I pray that you'll enjoy this wonderful day that we've been fortunate enough to be blessed with, I'm thinking I must have been a real good girl this past year because I got quite the haul of Christmas gifts BUT I do remember the true reason for the Season BUT I also have to admit that I do love getting presents. Let's all of us no matter where we are in our quits be EXtra Vigilant while going about the festivities throughout today and over next several days because Sticking with N.O.P.E and Vigilance will guarantee us a lifetime of Freedom.

My hubby Mark is getting ready for work our Mason stayed for an overnighter and is still sleeping he's pretty excited about Christmas it's wonderful to see the world through the eyes of a child especially during the CHRISTmas Season, enjoy this day my friends and Fellow EXers let's take a breath and remember the true reason for the Season and keep moving forward and stacking up your precious DOF - Days of Freedom each and every evening you can say YAY for another Day WON because Smokefree living is the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE......

We had our family gift exchange yesterday afternoon with homemade pizzas that Mark done up for everyone it was too bad that our granddaughter Emma had to work it's getting harder each year with them growing up she's 16 and of course she's got a boyfriend, can you imagine she'd rather hang out with him and her friends instead of us old fogies!   we'll definetly see her over the holidays for sure . Don't let the hustle and bustle of trying to get things done ruin CHRISTmas, do what you can and enjoy yourself and remember the true reason for the Season and let's treasure the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE -- N.O.P.E and Vigilance will ensure us a lifetime of Freedom......

The top pic is my son and his fiancee and his son Adam our oldest grandson, the next pic is my daughter Mason's Mum with my hubby Mark in the corner and the bottom pic is Mason's Dad these get togethers are the little things in life that's actually the the big things in life that I enjoy sooooo much more now that I'm an EXer because because I'm not missing out on quality time I'm here to make memories and hopefully someday when I'm gone they'll be able to look back at these times together with a smile   have a great CHRISTMAS EVE EVE......

Once I made up my mind to take back back my life after 40 yrs of smoking at least 30 smokes a day and a half dozen failed attempts at quitting there was no stopping me from succeeding once I figured out that I wasn't invincible I found this on line did a bunch of reading and set up a quit date BUT when that date arrived I wasn't ready so I reset it and promised myself N.M.W. - No Matter What I was going to succeed BUT then LIFE got in the way I was on my 18th day when I was having horrendous cravings back to back that seemed never ending I was ready to drive to the store to buy a carton of cigarettes screw just a pk BUT then I remembered this site and commented on something up until that point I was hiding in the shadows, someone mentioned I should write a blog and say a little about myself and so I did and here I am 1622 glorious D.O.F. - Days Of Freedom or something like that later, as long a person has the RIGHT MINDSET and the WILLINGNESS, DETERMINATION and COMMITMENT to SUCCEED then with PERSERVENCE it's definetly going to happen because there's no way you can FAIL...... it's a wonderful feeling to be FREE to go anywhere anytime whenever wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a cancer stick coughing choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both BUT NOT ANYMORE......

We had snow in October that hung around for a bit then again in early November and it's been here ever since now that's it's Winter with all of the high snowbanks it's going to feel like Spring with a couple of inches of rain coming BUT first we've got to deal with 2 or 3 hrs of freezing rain before the change over so we're under a bunch of warnings and all schools are cancelled BUT hey it is what it is and all I care about is for hubby and everyone to be Safe on the roads, Mason got off the bus here yesterday and was here a good chunk of the evening he's counting down to Christmas   he's coming over this afternoon to spend the night and tomorrow Adam and everyone is coming over to do a gift exchange that we do every year. I'm so glad that I finally wised up and quit smoking so I can enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in life and I don't have to stand outside in all kinds of weather sucking on a cancer stick coughing choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both because I need a smoke BUT thankfully I don't need that crutch anymore it certainly wasn't easy in those early days and weeks of quitting smoking BUT by coming to this site and listening to everyone in this community that suggested that I read and learn about this horrid addiction which I did and by doing the reading it taught me so many ways to deal with the craves, moods and lack of sleep including all of the mantras that I continually repeat pretty much everyday because I know how much they helped me.   N.O.P.E  - Not One Puff Ever  - S.I.N.A.O  - Smoking Is Not An Option  - N.M.W  - No Matter What  - N.E.F  - Never Ever Forget , there's many more BUT the bottom line is that as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so as Dale says keep them away from your face because the only way out is through so be willing determined and totally committed to succeed, deep breaths and believe it and know that we're all here to help you in any way we can BUT you must let us know by blogging HELP and then you need to wait for a few minutes until we come on line to talk with you, if you have to, SIT ON YOUR HANDS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T RELAPSE BY SITTING ON THEM.  XO  by sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance you'll get through the rough patches and you will be reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker so hang on tight and don't let go of the best GIFT that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE ..... No more Day ONES for any of us Only Days WON will do......saying YES to a lifetime of Freedom......

There's definetly Life after Cigarettes BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance & you absolutely will get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer BUT you have to be willing determined and totally committed to perservere through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that good place in your quit because life is going to happen whether you smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke is the gift of LIFE, I know how difficult it can be in those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because I've been there and I never ever want to go back to Day ONE again because I reached that good place along time ago so I know that as difficult quitting can be BUT it's absolutely DOABLE and worth it to be Free so hang on tight and enjoy a Smokefree Christmas because you can and will be successful one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour minute or even a second at a time and we're all here to help you in any way we can ..... if you're already in that place like I am let's always remember and N.E.F  - Never Ever Forget those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because only Days WON will do, let's not become complacent and lose the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our quality of LIFE  because breathing is essential to living....

Let's wish Deena-A.-Yenni a super fantastic day, she mentioned she won't be around internet for a couple of days but when she's back she'll be able to see our Birthday wishes, I hope you'll enjoy your day Deena.

Wowser next Wednesday is the day after CHRISTmas which is Boxing Day with huge after CHRISTmas sales plus it'll be the last Hump Day of 2018 BUT I'm getting ahead of myself let's all of us take a deep breath and remember the true reason for the Season and let's be EXtra Vigilant during this Season so we don't let ourselves become lazy and complacent and lose the one GIFT that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our quality of LIFE because breathing is essential to LIVING and I'm hoping that each  of us will be around to enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in LIFE! Let's stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees us a Smokefree Life & I say YAY for Smokefree living and YAY for each and every Day WON.

We got a strong 7 inches of snow overnight with gusty winds ugh the winds are still gusting this morning with poor visibility so schools are cancelled throughout the Province the kids are pretty happy, I was shoveling the steps off at 6 am Mark is still plowing our driveway so he can get to work our driveway is way off the road which is great in the Summer BUT a royal pain in the butt in the Winter oh well that's A OK because there's no smoking involved because Life is much easier without a Cigarette in Hand it's definetly easier to breathe when shoveling the mounds of snow, keep sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance because it'll guarantee you a LIFE of Freedom ..... with the right Mindset we can do just about anything we put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things because our lives literally depends on it.....

Happy birthday Daniela-3-11-2016

Sticking with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance works when applied on a daily basis it's definetly not easy by any stretch of the imagination especially in those early days and weeks BUT as long as you are willing determined and totally committed to succeed then you will be successful because as difficult as it might be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it so hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year it's vital to our quality of life because breathing is essential to living.....

Thankfully you can live life on life's terms without the crutch of cigarettes, mind you it takes commitment and the belief that you will get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer if you're reading this and you're struggling please know that you can and will get to that good place in your quit, deep breaths and know that we're all here to help you in any way we can it will get easier and easier with time under your belt, continue to be willing determined and totally committed to succeed because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees us a Smokefree Life. ...

I know Christmas can be and is for alot of people a very difficult Season for a number of reasons so if you're reading this and you're struggling with remaining quit please stay close because we're all here to help you in any way we can, if you need to vent or just want to put your thoughts down please do and please stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because this Season will pass and you'll still have your quit which is the gift of LIFE all of our lives literally depends on us to continue stacking up those precious DOF which guarantees us a Smokefree Life.....

Let's remind ourselves of the reason for the CHRISTmas Season I have to remind myself each year that I can only do what I can do several years ago I used to push myself trying to do everything just right the cleaning the decorating the baking and so on and so on and I used to be so worn out and in alot of pain from arthritis and other issues that I didn't enjoy myself and I didn't even feel like eating Christmas dinner so finally I thought this is ridiculous so over the last few years I just do what I can do and everyone including myself enjoy Christmas so much more and what's even better is I'm doing it all as an Ex Smoker and so is my hubby Mark and maybe just maybe we'll be around a little bit longer to enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in life, don't fret over the little things this Christmas just do what you can and enjoy the Season    I wonder sometimes where I ever found the time to Smoke because there just isn't enough hours in the day to begin with BUT hey I guess it really doesn't matter does it ? Because we don't do that anymore ! Right ?  This picture of Mark and the grandchildren was taken a couple of weeks ago we always give them a early Christmas gift as a Thank you for decorating the tree this is one of the the little things in life that I pray will be a memory for the grandkids to treasure long after Gramp and I are gone......

Another HUMP DAY is here and there's only two more after this one then we'll be into a new year which makes me so thankful that I'm living a Smokefree Life it's a journey we're all in together because it doesn't matter where you are in your quit whether it's day ONE or ONE thousand and ONE or wherever it just doesn't matter because we're all on this quit journey together as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then we're guaranteed a life of Freedom  Let's always remember and N.E.F that horrid DAY ONE and those early weeks that follows because only Days WON will do for us  our quits are firmly in our grasp and I say YAY for Smokefree living and yay for each and every Day WON.....

Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking definetly is difficult to say the least in those early weeks BUT it's absolutely worth it even though at times you may feel like giving up BUT DON'T because you can and will get through the rough patches, believe it chin up and keep moving forward and stacking up your precious Days of Freedom so each evening you can say YAY for another Day WON quitting smoking is definitely difficult by any stretch of the imagination but boy oh boy it's so worth it so hang on tight because the longer you're quit the easier it will get and once you get to that good place you'll be so glad that you stuck with your quit......

It really does take to time to get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is without the smokes you will get to that good place in your quit, deep breaths, chin up and believe it and know that we're all here to help you in any way we can as difficult as it is in those early weeks it's also very Doable and totally worth it to be Free and besides anything in this life worth having takes time and effort..... I better get going I have an appointment and I need to warm the car up because it's cold outside ....

I'm thankful that I had a breathing test 2 and a half months after my husband Mark quit smoking after 42 years because of a horrible cough that scared him into quitting which a cat scan showed emphysema BUT I continued to Smoke thinking I was just fine we'd both smoked outside Summer or Winter for roughly a dozen years, I smoked for 40 years anyway I saw a specialist about something back in the Spring of 2014, I don't even remember what it was about now but he listened to my lungs and didn't like the sound of them and set up a a breathing test which showed mild copd that's when I realized that I wasn't invincible and found this site and the rest is history. Quitting smoking is absolutely difficult BUT definitely DOABLE I didn't want to end up on oxygen 7/ 24 and fight for every breath and I sure as HELL didn't want to have my family see me struggling to breathe especially the grandchildren so I bit the bullet and took back my life with the help of this community all of our lives literally depends on us to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance which guarantees us a Smokefree Life and it's vital to our quality of LIFE breathing is essential to living and being around to enjoy the little things in life that actually turns out to be the big things in life 100 times better as An Exer.

I consider quitting smoking the gift of LIFE which is the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our quality of life because breathing is essential to living so as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable if you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free and besides anything in this life worth having takes time, effort and hard you must  be willing, dedicated and with the right Mindset than you'll get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer then you'll never want to see another Day ONE only Day's WON for each and everyone of us traveling on this stupendous quit journey YAY for Smokefree living.

I'm stumped on what to say this morning so I'll just say good morning and wish each of you reading this a Stressfree hasslefree but most importantly Smokefree day.....

I've got to pick my mother in law up in a bit for a Dr's appointment it's brrrrrrr outside at -20 °Celcius or -4°F either way it's cold BUT I'm really happy  that I'm not outside freezing my butt off trying to suck on a cancer stick coughing and choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both and nearly freezing my fingers off I found it difficult wearing gloves in case of burning them like duh   but not anymore, quitting smoking is the smartest thing anyone of us will ever do for ourselves and of course sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance is also key to living a Smokefree Life which is the gift of LIFE  it's sooooooooo much better as An EXer BUT if you're struggling and think that I'm full of B.S. please keep plowing forward and stacking up your precious Days of Freedom because the longer you're quit the easier it will get and I believe you will get to that good place in your quit  where you'll realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker and you'll never want to see another Day ONE ever again ......

I'm thinking about how busy the month of December can be and if we're not careful can cause undue stress which can cause for some sleepless nights, I woke up this morning very weary but I still put on a big batch of bread which is rising now and other than the things that has to be done I'm going to take a deep breath and enjoy LIFE on LIFE'S Terms and I'm going to do the same with Christmas & remember the reason for the Season and do what I can and enjoy it to the fullest as an EXer so let's H.A.L.T. & continue living a life of Freedom on this HUMP DAY and each and every that we're fortunate enough to be blessed with .....

Oh my gosh I almost forgot that my buddy my pal my friend George the Hump Day Camel says good morning  he's off filling up on coffee at the moment.

Once we've decided to bite the bullet and take back our lives from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison then we need to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance N.M.W. so we can be guaranteed a life of Freedom and enjoy LIFE on LIFE'S Terms without the yuckies (cigarettes)  Life really does happen whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke hopefully will give us several years of a much better quality of living ..... I want all of us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE, the grandchildren came over to decorate the tree last night so I fixed them all meat pizzas for supper and we had thank you gifts after the decorating and before we took them home .  I say a Triple YAY for Smokefree living and YAY for each and every Day WON because it's absolutely wonderful to enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in LIFE.......

I never thought in a million years that I'd ever quit smoking I used to joke about being buried with a Cigarette in my mouth BUT then reality kicked in when I found out that I have mild copd that's when I realized that I wasn't invincible and found this site and to make a long story short I'm Smokefree and I'm loving it, if you asked me if quitting smoking was easy? I'd be saying HELL NO!!!!  BUT if you were to ask me if quitting smoking was worth it? I'll be saying HELL YES!!!! Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health family and friends but especially your life .......

I know how difficult it can be in those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because I've been there there were times that one minute I'd be alright going about my day and the next moment I'd be ready to rip your face off because you looked at me the wrong way or maybe I'd be blatting like a baby, we've all been there we've all got our stories of those those early weeks BUT each of us that's living a life of Freedom can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that quitting smoking and remaining quit is definetly difficult to say the least but it's also absolutely DOABLE as long as you are willing determined and totally committed to succeed then you can and will be successful BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and vigilance which guarantees you a Smokefree Life you can make it through to that good place in your quit N.M.W. - No Matter What - you can and will be successful BUT you must believe it and we're all here to help you in any way we can.....

We've pretty much been having snow since the 3rd week of October which was way too early but since it's Dec now snow is the norm and most people around here expect it especially the children because we gotta get snow for Christmas I only remember twice in my life not having a White Christmas hummm, I sure wouldn't mind not having one now. I know the Christmas Season is difficult for many people including a few people I know BUT no matter the Season or the Weather or anything else that may happen just remember life happens whether we smoke or not and each of us has the choice to stick with our quits no matter what is happening in LIFE we've got the choice to live LIFE on LIFE'S Terms and it's absolutely Doable even if we're feeling down and depressed we can live a life of Freedom because Sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance guarantees us a Smokefree Life and it's vital to our quality of LIFE because breathing is essential to living ......
