2018

My cold bug is a little better this morning so Lord willing by Tuesday I'll be able to be there for my little sister for a few days to help her out, extra murial comes on Tuesday to explain things like the drainage tubes then Wednesday she's having the mastectomy it's done in day surgery now I'm so glad that I don't smoke anymore because I'll be there for her 100 % and not outside under a plume of smoke it took time for me to get through the rough patches and into that good place in my quit it takes time for everyone to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker and it's absolutely worth all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point and anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking is definitely a gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's vital to our health family and friends but especially our lives which literally depends on us to quit and stay quit because lives are so much more important than the damned Cancer Sticks .......

I'm waiting for my nine year old grandson Mason to come for the day he should be here anytime he's in my avatar pic which was taken a week or two ago...

It really doesn't matter how many days or wks or months or years that you've been done smoking it only matters that you've quit because that's what counts and we're all here to help each other and if you're struggling please know that we're all here to help you in any way we can BUT you must let us know by blogging Help so we'll know and can help you through it as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it to be Free.....

If You're reading this and are on the fence about quitting smoking or if you've already quit and you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can and will be successful BUT either way you must believe in yourself and be willing determined and totally committed to succeed and you can and will be living a life of Freedom, I remember how difficult it was at times how I felt like ripping my hair out one minute and then wanting to rip your face off anyone's face off the next it didn't matter who's face then I'd be blatting like a baby, I remember going around in a brain fog BUT I made it through and so can you, I read read everything I could find right here on this site and learned the mantras which helped I'd give my head several shakes and tell myself that I don't smoke anymore and I'd yell right out loud and repeat it as many times as necessary and continue on with whatever I was doing and by doing that and sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way we can Fail, you must keep them away from your face because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes BUT you must believe it and stick with your quit I remember some horrendous cravings that were almost overpowering notice that I said almost that's when I'd get on line and read and blog and here I am today ONE of those those Happy Quitters I'm still sick with a cold bug that I need to get rid of before Tuesday so I can be there to help my sister for a few days she's having her mastectomy on Wednesday but she wants to be there on Tuesday when extra murial comes to explain things like the drainage! Life is going to happen good or bad whether we smoke or not and I find I can handle things much easier now that I'm an Ex Smoker it definitely takes time to relearn life without the smokes BUT boy oh boy it's so worth it so hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE......

BUT YAY for being Smokefree because hopefully I'll be on the mend faster since I won't be standing outside in the rain feeling like crap trying to suck on a cancer stick coughing, choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both because no matter how rotten we felt we had to have that smoke right BUT not anymore because we don't do that anymore at least I'm hoping that everyone reading this has bit the bullet and quit smoking BUT if you haven't NOW is the time to join the ranks of being an EXer it's Doable and totally worth it......

My husband took Monday and yesterday off as vacation days to finish up the parking garage he's building for my car he's using the main part of the shop for his Super M tractor and the other side is the green house and where most of the Solar system is hooked up, it'll be great not having  my car sitting outside because last winter we had alot of storms BUT I did get lots of EXercise shoveling and cleaning the car off and moving it for the plow guy, Mark has a snowblower for the tractor and once he gets the chains on he's planning on the snowblowing this winter before going to work and depending on the storm probably after work too BUT YAY I now have a place to park my car so it'll be really nice.

It's a humid and rainy day so after I get my morning work done and get Mark a lunch on his lunch break and do the dishes I'm taking a ME afternoon, I'm sick and full of cold in my chest plus a full head and my ears are aching grrrr I must get better before Tuesday because I need to look after my little sister Marion she's having her mastectomy on Wednesday she wants me to come the day before when extra murial comes to explain things like the drainage I'm going to stay for a few days so I have to get better I can't go if I'm sick because she can't get sick. I should be on the mend faster since I'm an Ex Smoker   Let's treasure the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year, we must look after ourselves because if we don't nobody else can do it for us I'm thinking of our friend Ellen XO this morning rest dear friend and take care of yourself and I pray that you can reach out and ask for help from a family member or friend if you need to and they'll be there to help you and Mike, feel better very soon elvan.

Living a life of Freedom starts with Day ONE which turns into DAY WON, Days WON then weeks, months and years WON  BUT all of us started with that 1st anxious day I remember the key for me was finding this awesome community of EXers and reading about this horrid addiction and learning the mantras like N.O.P.E  - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance & the only way out is through & keep them away from your face & quitting is Doable & there's so many others too BUT you must be willing determined and totally committed to succeed then you can and will be successful, is it easy getting through those early days and weeks? HELL NO!!!!! BUT is it worth it ? HELL YES!!!! Our lives literally depends on us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE & choosing LIFE over smoking is our key to a lifetime of Freedom definetly difficult to say the least but absolutely Doable.....

I'm wishing everyone a super fantastic day it's a busy one here first off is getting the bread kneaded down but busy is good especially in the early days and weeks of quitting smoking, keeping your mind as well as your hands occupied really does help I also remember yelling out loud at times in the middle of a horrendous crave that I don't do that anymore while giving my head several shakes and it definitely works   there's a wealth of information right here on this site to strengthen your resolve to quit and stay quit so if you're struggling read read and read some more there's alot of mantras I've learned from this community too which helped me like N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it to be Free.......

Let's always be Vigilant in our precious ongoing quit journeys whether we're on DAY ONE DAY TEN, ONE HUNDRED, ONE THOUSAND or anywhere in between or above ONE THOUSAND sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance is Key to a lifetime of Freedom let's never ever become lazy and complacent and lose the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE   I'm wishing everyone a super fantastic Sunday Smokefree of course no matter where you are in your quit be proud of yourself because you are taking back your life from the clutches of the nicotine poison and if you haven't quit yet now is the time to join the ranks of being an Ex Smoker  once you've plowed through the rough patches and relearn life without the smokes you'll be so glad that you quit because then you'll know that LIFE really does get better and better plus easier and easier with time under your belt .......

Mason and I having fun being silly yesterday.

I'm weary this morning but that's alright my 14 year old grandson Adam called around supper time last night and wanted to come spend the night so I picked him up he's still sleeping and my 9 year old grandson Mason is coming later on this morning to spend the night hummm I may take tomorrow afternoon as a ME day  my hubby Mark is taking Monday and Tuesday off for a couple of vacation days to finish up the parking garage he's building and cut some wood off the property so we'll both be busy because I'll try to help him as much as I can, I wrote a blog awhile ago about my 54 year old sister Marion having breast cancer she opted for a mastectomy which she's going to have on October 3rd it's done in day surgery now so I'll go stay with her for a few days and sleep on an air mattress, she'll have Red Cross and Extra Murial come in during the day to check on her and my oldest sister Cheryl also had breast cancer is on her 3rd yr of being Cancer free she'll be having a mammogram on the 19th of October she had Chemo, Radiation and is on HRT'S, hormone replacement therapy for 5 yrs so she's got 2 more yrs of being on them, whew enough rambling I just wanted to to fill you in, please quit smoking if you haven't already and if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can and will be successful as long as you are willing determined and totally committed to succeed then you can perservere through the roller coaster ups and downs and make it through to the point where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker then you can start Reaping the benefits of an EXer because LIFE really is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand BUT you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance.....

I was planning on a ME day today BUT plans change my 91 year old mother in law just called and asked if I'd take her to get a few things done and of course I said yes she's a wonderful lady, so I'd better get moving since I've been dragging my butt not EXpecting to go anywhere today remember that being Smokefree is the gift of LIFE and if you're struggling you must keep moving forward because it will get easier and easier with time under your belt but first you have to go through all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker and once you get to that good place in your quit you'll be so glad that you stuck with your quit because LIFE really is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand. ...

I choose to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can handle things much easier now that I'm an Ex Smoker because life is going happen good or bad whether any of us smoke or not and I'd rather have a clear head dealing with a situation than be sitting outside no matter what the weather is chainsmoking with a cloud of smoke surrounding me not getting a blessed thing straightened out but with a clear head I can handle things much better it may not be easy BUT at least I'm present and in the situation and Not outside so I can do what I can when I can without the smokes because I don't do that anymore! Nobody has to do that anymore!  The choice is ours and I believe Smokefree living is where it's at now and I love saying YAY AND YAY AGAIN FOR SMOKEFREE LIVING AND YAY FOR EACH AND EVERY DAY WON BECAUSE FREEDOM IS OURS FOR THE TAKING AND OUR LIVES LITERALLY DEPENDS ON IT QUIT FOR LIFE YOUR LIFE, MY LIFE, OUR LIVES!!!! SAY YES TO LIVING WITHOUT THE SMOKES.

Here we are heading into Fall on Saturday WOW time is floating right along don't you think? I find the older I get the more I treasure my hard earned quit and the little things in life that's actually the the big things in life I'm so thankful that I found this site well over four years ago now and read, read, read and read some more because the more I read the more willing determined and totally committed to succeed I became and I realized that with perservence and the right Mindset that I would succeed by sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance and by knowing that the only way out is through, there was NO WAY that I could FAIL and guess what? I did make it and after 40 yrs of smoking of at least 30 smokes a day I'm Smokefree  if you asked me if quitting smoking was difficult ? I'd have to be honest and say HELL YES!!!! BUT if you were to ask me if quitting smoking was worth it ? I'd be smiling from ear to ear and I'll be saying HELL YES!!!! As difficult as it was at times it was absolutely Doable so if you're reading this and you're struggling hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE please know that we're all here to help you in any way we can BUT you must let us know by blogging Help so we'll be able to try to talk you you through the rough patches, you may have to wait for a few minutes for someone to get on line so wait and if you have to sit on your hands because someone will be right along to talk you down........

Once you've plowed through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that good place in your quit where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker that's when you really, really understand that wonderful AHA moment of sheer happiness and all any of us has to do is to stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then they'll never ever be a  relapse besides once we've EXperienced how much better life is then there's NO going back to Day ONE again and as long as we keep them away from our face then we'll be continuing stacking up those precious Days WON ........Life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand.

Sticking with your quit guarantees you that you'll get through the rough patches and come out the other side smiling and realising that Smokefree living is sooooo much better than being a slave to the Cancer Sticks BUT you must stick with your quit and keep moving forward and stacking up your precious Days of Freedom in order to EXperience the Freedom of an EXer because getting to that good place in your quit is ONE HELL OF AN AHA MOMENT AND YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO MISS IT.....

Quitting smoking is the best decision that any of us will ever make in our lifetime and it's definetly the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it all starts with Day ONE which turns into DAY WON which turns into a life of Freedom as long as we all stick with our quits.....

As a friend used to say Don't Quit on your Quit, right TerrieQuit  and it's absolutely true once we've made the decision to quit smoking and we've bit the bullet and have taken back our lives from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison and are living a life of Freedom without the yucky cancer sticks then as long as we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance we'll be A OK, too many of us let life get in our way or get complacent with our quits so we must always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because none of us wants another Day ONE which would totally suck big time but each and every Day WON is totally super fantastic, we miss you Terrie XO, there's so many that I'm missing like constanceclum for one, come join the ranks of being an Ex Smoker because life really does get better and better without the yuckies (cigarettes) BUT like all of us you must go through all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an EXer choosing to quit and stay quit is definetly difficult to say the least but it's also very Doable and it's a gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year..... if you haven't quit yet now is the time don't wait for Someday and if you're struggling with remaining quit deep breaths and know that we're all here to help you in any way we can.....

I'm lost for words this morning EXcept for my usual spiel to stick with your quit No Matter What, because life is going happen good or bad and I know that right now with Florence slamming down that's really bad, terrifying in fact BUT there's not a blessed thing anyone can do about it EXcept Pray and continue choosing N.O.P.E and Vigilance.....

I'm praying for everyone's safety which I know that  all of you reading this are as well, I pray everyone that could get to a safe place does if they haven't already, I pray that this monstrous storm will downgrade before hitting the Carolinas, be Safe, love, prayers and hugs and more prayers to everyone in the path of Hurricane Florence......

I pray that everyone will hang on to their precious quit during this horrendous and terrifying time, smoking wouldn't help at all and most likely could make things even more stressful than they already are if that's even possible.....

Life is going to keep on happening good or bad whether you smoke or not as difficult as it might be at times you can get through the rough patches with your quit in tact keeping your mind as well as your hands occupied really does help there's so many alternatives instead of returning to the cigarettes which isn't the answer because whatever caused you to relapse would still be there plus you would totally screw up a perfectly beautiful quit, hang tough and keep moving forward one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour minute or even a second at a time because your life is literally counting on you to quit and stay quit. I am sending up good thoughts and prayers for everyone in the path of of Hurricane Florence to be safe.........

We've had frost the last two mornings but we'll be back into Summer temps by tomorrow morning with no chance of frost the rest of the week if you're reading this and you're struggling with your quit please put your chin up, deep breaths and blog Help so we'll know and can help you through it as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because there's absolutely no way you can FAIL and once you've plowed through the roller coaster ups and downs and get to that good place in your quit you'll be so glad that you stuck it.....

I never realized how much better life is without the smokes until I finally wised up and found this site and everyone here that helped me through through the rough patches and into that good place in my quit, there were many times I wanted to throw my hands up in the air and smoke my brains out because someone or something that said or did something that ticked me off BUT my resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb was more powerful than the craves because after 40 years of smoking and finding out that I have mild copd I'd had enough and didn't want to end up on oxygen 7/24 or worse die a slow painful death that's most likely smoking related as difficult as quitting can be it's absolutely Doable and totally worth it to be Free , I didn't want to have a Dr tell me to go home and get my affairs in order because I waited too long to quit I wanted and still want a much healthier lifestyle and by quitting smoking that's EXactly what I did and I pray that I'll always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON is awesome. If You haven't already quit NOW is the time and if you're struggling please stick with your quit it's definetly going to get easier and easier with time under your belt but first you have to go through the rough patches in order to get to that good place in your quit where you'll be reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker ....

Once you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the crutch I know that at times in those early weeks how EXtremely difficult it is I also remember thinking at times how almost overpowering some of the craves were! Notice that I said almost because as horrid as it was at times I knew that I was going to succeed because of all the reading that I did here and the mantras that I pounded into my head, sometimes through a horrendous crave I'd yell right out loud that I don't do that anymore while giving my head several shakes and I'd do that several times a day because I promised myself the night before quitting smoking that I'd never pick up another cigarette and I never will as long as I stick and we all stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way we can Fail and besides Relapsing isn't an option! There's definetly Life after Cigarettes BUT everyone has to go through the rough patches to get to that good place in your quit And I'm Telling  You The Truth When I say Boy Oh Boy It's So Worth it So Worth It To Be FREE!

Another Smokefree Hump Day is upon us it's another precious Day to be WON   unless you're on Day ONE then at the end of today you'll be able to look yourself in the mirror and smile and say YAY for Day WON with many more to come our lives are literally counting on us to nurture and protect the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE which I consider the one gift that'll keep on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year it's vital that we stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance so we can can be around to enjoy the little things in life that's actually the the big things in life.....

Once we've been quit for awhile let's always remember and N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and weeks of quitting smoking because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON is super fantastic, these pins are addiction to alcohol BUT I also find them very fitting to tobacco addiction especially for me because I'm a recovering alcoholic and have well over 7 years of sobriety and 1512 glorious Days of Smokefree living, Have a great Labor day everyone......

I don't know about anyone else BUT I do know that for myself I'm realizing the older I get the more I realize that I'm not invincible and that quitting smoking was absolutely the wisest decision that I've ever made or ever will make in my lifetime because I'll hopefully have a much better quality of living now to enjoy my family and friends but especially the grandchildren and if we stop to think about it breathing is essential to living so by quitting smoking we're hopefully be able to breathe on our own without the need of a Damned oxygen tank quitting smoking and sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance is Key to a lifetime of Freedom! Isn't our lives worth sooooo much more than the damned Cancer Sticks? Isn't a few weeks of cravings, moodswings and lack of sleep worth being able to live a life of Freedom and start reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker? I know at times how stressful and almost overpowering those cravings can be BUT you must believe that you can get through them because you can and you will succeed in getting through believe it and we're all here to help you in any way we can.....
