2018

It's the last day of February wowser, time is floating right along which reminds me that life is short and trying to take the best care of ourselves that we can is vital so we can have the best quality of life to enjoy the little things in our lives which is actually the big things to be able to spend time with family especially the grandchildren and see their face light up for whatever reason is a great feeling and the best part of it for me is enjoying it all as an Ex Smoker I'm one of those Happy Quitters, life isn't perfect by any means we've all got our problems that's for sure but believe it or not we can actually handle situations so much better without the crutch of cigarettes because we don't have to be outside chainsmoking trying to figure out whatever the issue is in a cloud of smoke instead with a clear head we can deal with life on life's terms just like non smokers deal with life everyday but for us we have to relearn life without the smokes but boy oh boy it's so worth it to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a cancer stick. March break is next week for the schools so my 8 year old grandson Mason is all packed up and ready to come to gram and gramps for a couple of days and it's super fantastic to know we'll be enjoying every single moment because we don't Smoke anymore, yay for Smokefree living sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance because it works when applied on a daily basis ..... Mason and I being silly a month or so ago.

I'm back my friends and Fellow EXers and definetly Smokefree and am thankful that I'm living my Forever quit and have no desire whatsoever to ever go back to the cancer sticks because smoking isn't even a blimp on my Radar and for anyone struggling with remaining quit please know that you can get through the rough patches but it's going to take time believe it and stick with N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance because S.I.N.A.O  - Smoking Is Not An Option the longer you're quit the easier it will get and each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON!

We're having a planned power outage for my region for some reason I've known about it for about a week but here I am on line saying good morning and wanting everyone to be smokefree because as difficult as quitting can be it's also very Doable and so very worth it to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a cancer stick, hang on tight and don't let go of the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE! I may not be around for a couple of days but I will be Smokefree and I Expect to be back on line Tuesday afternoon sometime but I'll still be around for the nEXt couple of hours enjoying being on line with Solar power, our well is 110 ft deep but we can flush the flush  which is super fantastic and I can get on site with all of you my friends and Fellow Exers, you're all my EXtended family so while I'm away as Dale says keep them away from your face and the only way out is through! And I say Boy oh Boy it's so worth all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep because once you do get to that point where you realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes it's an absolutely wonderful feeling.  and then you'll be able to really start reaping the benefits of being an EXer because life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand.

Sticking with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and Vigilance works when applied on a daily basis, there's definetly days during those first few weeks that can be hair pulling, nail biting, rip your face off feelings but it's all worth it and you can get through it with perseverance, commitment and determination, is it easy? HELL NO but is it worth it? HELL YES! Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health family and friends but most importantly your LIFE! I know that I'm a broken record but I want everyone to enjoy your Forever Quits because it's so very Doable even though there's days you want to throw your hands up in the air and relapse don't do it keep plowing forward because it will get easier and easier with time under your belt, I know it because there were many times when I was struggling that I wanted to jump in my car and buy a carton of cigarettes instead of just a pk but whew thankfully with N.O.P.E and vigilance and this awesome community I kept moving forward so each evening I could look myself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON and I want you all to be able enjoy the Freedom of an EXer because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option ....

Believe in yourself and be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and you can and will be successful, choosing to quit and stay quit is definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable and it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE!  Quitting while we're on this side of the grass or if you're in a snowbelt like me is one of the main reasons why I bit the bullet and stopped playing Russian Roulette with my life because I had a choice whether I continued to Smoke after finding out I have mild copd and end up on oxygen 7/24 so I decided to quit on my terms, my life my choice, I didn't want to take the chance of waiting too long and have a Dr. tell me sorry but you need to go home and get your affairs in order that thought crossed my mind more than once before I decided to finally wise up after 40 yrs of smoking of at least 30 smokes a day, was quitting smoking easy?  HELL NO!!!! but was quitting smoking worth it?  HELL YES!!!! Anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health family and friends but especially your Life....

I'm pretty sure anyone living in a snowbelt like me is ready for Spring but realistically I know that it'll be another 6 wks or so before all of this white crap will pretty much be gone other than in the woods, yesterday was mild it started with snow then freezing rain which switched over to rain during the afternoon and evening with temps up to 41°F but during the night the temps dropped, I had bloodwork this morning which I had to fast for so I was out of here at 6:45 the roads were fine but the driveways are sheets of ice I took coffee with me so I could enjoy a cup coming home. Once you've been quit awhile and hit that good place in your quit you'll realize that you can function much better without the Cancer Sticks, before quitting I would need at least 3 coffee and 5 or 6 smokes before I could function and having to fast for bloodwork and drive the 20 minutes without caffeine was murder but now it's no big deal because living life on life's terms is really great, if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep and you get to that point where you can smile because you'll know that there's definetly Life after Cigarettes and it's super fantastic so chin up and keep stacking up your Days WON! I just snapped this pic of my driveway but it doesn't really show how icey it is but that's ok because the Sun's shining which makes me Happy & I have to say LIFE is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand , I'm ONE of those Happy Quitters and have been for quite some time and I believe everyone can reap the benefits of being an Ex Smoker but you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance in order to EXperience the Freedom of an EXer.....

My Hump Day Camel George may not be happy with these giraffes but that's A OK because whatever day of the week it is we know it's going to be Smokefree because that's the only life there is and we all get there one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour minute or even a second at a time stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option.... I really enjoy my morning coffee!

Once you've decided to bite the bullet and stop playing Russian Roulette with your life then quitting smoking Is Doable, for me after a half a dozen half hearted attempts at quitting smoking failed! Notice I said halfhearted because now looking back I wasn't prepared and any EXcuse was a reason to relapse so I smoked close to another 20 yrs before finding this site which altogether I wasted 40 yrs of my life on smoking but with the help of this community here I am enjoying my Freedom from the clutches of the nicotine poison I believe with the right Mindset we can do just about anything we put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do our lives literally depends on us to quit and stay quit with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever & vigilance -  there's no way we can fail because we know that  - S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option & once we've been quit for awhile let's  - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - those early days and weeks of quitting smoking & H.A.L.T  - Hunger, Anger, Lonely, tired  - taking EXtra good care of ourselves helps to get through the rough patches. There's definetly Life after Cigarettes and it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE and anything in this life worth having takes time and effort so as Dale says keep them away from your face and the only way out is through but boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free!

Once you've decided to bite the bullet and quit smoking then sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance will keep you Smokefree,, the first few days and weeks will mostly likely be a roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep but it's all worth it you will make it through so reading everything you can about quitting smoking and remaining quit will strengthen your resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom, stay close because we're all here to help you through any rough patches that you may come upon, quitting smoking is definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable and so very worth it to be Free so hang tough because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes and it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE!

Quitting smoking Is the wisest decision that anyone of us will ever make in our lifetime by quitting we're giving ourselves the gift of LIFE and I consider it a gift that keeps on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year but we all have to plow through the rough patches first, believe me when I say I had horrendous cravings and withdrawals plus moodswings and lack of sleep but I was determined that no matter what I was going to succeed and by hanging out in this community and reading everything I could about quitting smoking which really  helped get me through the roller coaster ups and downs, it's so worth it to be Free, give yourself 3 months actually make it 4 months because after 30, 40 or 50 yrs of smoking, it only stands to reason that you have to relearn life without the smokes but with the right Mindset we can do just about anything We put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do, make the choice to stick with N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option....

I'm lost on what to say other than there really is life after Cigarettes and it's super fantastic but first you have to go through all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep but it's all worth it once you come out the other side smiling and realising that life really does get better without the Cancer Sticks....

Life is way too short to continue slowly killing ourselves by smoking, if you're on the fence about quitting smoking now is the time to bite the bullet and take back your life and if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can get through the rough patches anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health family and friends but especially your life which is depending on you to look after yourself because if you don't nobody else can do it for you, we have complete control over whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke is the best Choice ever! There's so much tragedy going on in this World like another senseless School Shooting with so many more lives lost it's heartbreaking there's just no words to express what keeps happening over and over again! When will enough be enough!!! Quitting smoking is in each and every person's control, I can say from my own quit Experience that if you asked me if quitting smoking was easy? I'd have to be honest and say HELL NO!!!  but if you asked me if quitting smoking was worth it? I'll be saying HELL YES!!! With all the senseless tragedies happening around the world that's basically out of our control we can take complete responsibility and control over our own lives and possibly prevent smoking related illnesses by quitting smoking and remaining quit because it's a Choice we can make and it's absolutely Doable with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option!

I'll be outside doing something today just to get some fresh air, it's supposed to get up to about 33°F  or so and that's super mild for me and the best part of all is that I don't smoke anymore so I'll get to really enjoy being outside and I hope everyone who reads this will enjoy the day no matter the weather or anything else that's happening in life we can be Smokefree because it's our Choice to Smoke or not to Smoke so I hope the Choice is Not!  Because being an EXer is the best gift that  anyone of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE!

It's been 43 months or 1,311 days since I wised up and threw the yuckies (cigarettes) away and with the help of this community I made it through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals, moodswings and lack of sleep but by reading everything I could right here on this site I knew that I could make it, it sure as HELL wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination but I was determined that no matter what I was going to succeed so I could Lord willing be around to enjoy a much better quality of living. We had our 8 year old grandson Mason after school for a few hrs yesterday and it's absolutely wonderful being an EXer because I'm not wasting my time sneaking outside and losing precious time with him, this morning my husband wished me Happy Valentine's day and Happy Anniversary because today is 7 years since quitting drinking I'm a recovering alcoholic, yay for me, my husband still drinks but I'm free and he wished me Happy Hump Day and I wish each of you reading this Happy Hump Day, deep breaths and keep plowing forward because I remember those early days and weeks of quitting smoking but in order to EXperience how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes you must persevere and you must do it one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour minute or even a second at a time and you will succeed and you will be living a life of Freedom. There's definetly Life after Cigarettes and everyone can live it  but everyone has to believe in themselves and must be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and then everyone can go about life's daily routine an Ex Smoker then once we made it through to that point where you realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes then we'll always stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O  - Smoking Is Not An Option and we will  - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - No More  Day ONE - Only Days WON - because Freedom Rocks! H.A.L.T  - Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired  - anyone of these could screw up a perfectly beautiful quit so taking EXtra precautions by eating properly and looking after ourselves then we will kick Nicotine's Ash to the curb permanently....

There's definetly Life after Cigarettes, it's takes willingness, determination and it takes total commitment and perseverance but it's so worth it to be Free so hang tough because each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON and remember that anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health, family but most importantly your LIFE!

Quitting smoking Is the wisest decision that anyone of us will ever do for ourselves and I consider quitting to be a gift that keeps on giving day after day week after week month after month and Lord willing year after year and it's choice that we all have to make at some point and I wanted to make it while I was still on this side of the grass or if you're in a snowbelt like me on this of the snowbanks but seriously we all know that smoking kills and it doesn't matter who you are or how old you are or what background you're from smoking kills and ending up on oxygen 7/24 or worse a Dr. Saying sorry but you waited too long to quit so go home and get your affairs in order that thought crossed my mind when I first found out that I have mild copd so I wised up and within six weeks I started my quit journey after 40 yrs of smoking, it's definetly difficult to say the least but dying a slow painful death that's most likely smoking related would be the worst if you haven't already quit, now is the time and if you have quit hang on tight because we're all here to help you through any rough patches that you May come upon, you can do this believe it and stick with N.O.P.E  - Not One Puff Ever - because it's key to a lifetime of Freedom.

There really is life after Cigarettes and it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE but in order to EXperience how much better life is without the cancer sticks you must go through all of the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep, we all had to go through it and if you ask  me if quitting smoking was easy? I'd have to be honest and say HELL NO! But if you ask me if it's worth it? I'll be saying HELL YES! I definitely had some hair pulling, crying fits, lack of sleep and wanting to rip people's faces off if they happend to look at me the wrong way BUT I was 100 % determined to bite the bullet and stop playing Russian Roulette with my life because I had at least a half dozen failed attempts under my belt and I promised myself that this time I was succeeding, I'd found this site back in June of 2014 and did a lot of reading and set a quit date but I wasn't ready so I reset it then for some reason I totally forgot about this site until I was ready to scream and jump in my car and buy a carton of cigarettes instead of just a pk that was on my 18th day I believe then thankfully I remembered this site and commented on something, up until that point I'd been lurking then someone moody_9-18-13 suggested that I write a blog and say a little about myself and so I did and here I am. I'd like to think that I would've preserved through that horrendous crave but I honestly don't know for sure but I did promise myself the night before quitting that I'd never pick up another cigarette as long as I live and I don't break promises to anyone including myself but I'm just so thankful that I came on line that day because so many of you got me through that horrendous crave and I absolutely am ONE of those Happy Quitters, quitting smoking is a choice and you can choice to quit and start living a life of Freedom if you haven't already....

But I'm on I'm a countdown to Spring plus since I don't smoke anymore I keep busy and even now after over 3 and a half yrs  every so often right out of the blue the thought of smoking just one creeps into my mind but thankfully with N.O.P.E and vigilance I'll give my head several shakes and say that I don't do that anymore and smile because I'm free and I'll - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget my early days and weeks of quitting smoking at least I pray I never do because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON is awesome so let's keep stacking up our precious Days of Freedom because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option not if we want to keep the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE.....

Quitting smoking is a choice and yes the first several wks are definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable and so very worth it to be Free so hang tough because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes once we stop and think about how many decades we smoked then it only stands to reason that we have to go through all of the ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and lack of sleep to get to that point when we realize just how much better life is, I smoked for 40 yrs roughly 30 cigarettes a day and never thought  in a million years I'd ever quit but finding out that I have mild copd made me realize that I'm not invincible that I could die a slow painful death that would most likely be smoking related all of us Exers have been through the rough patches, I know for me someone could look at me the wrong way and I'd either cry or want to rip their face off but thankfully with N.O.P.E and vigilance and of course everyone here in this awesome community helped get me through to a wonderful place in my quit and smoking isn't even a blimp on my Radar, if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that we're here for you blog Help and we'll be here to help you through in any way we can and read everything you can about quitting smoking and remaining quit because there's a wealth of information here to strengthen your resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom, believe in yourself and be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and you can and will be successful stacking up your precious DOF so each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON....

Once we've been quit awhile we can have off days and weeks but at least when it comes to me and my quit I'm thankful that I don't want or need a smoke because I am Free and I know that if I did smoke one I'd be chain smoking plus I know that I'd be coughing, choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both because I haven't had a smoke anywhere near my face for 1,305 glorious Days and I will N.E.F - Never Ever Forget how tough it was in those early weeks  I'm so thankful that I wised up, if anyone reading this is struggling with your quit please know that you can get through the rough patches but you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance and with some time under your belt you'll begin to realize just how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes so chin up and keep stacking up your precious DOF so each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON and remember that anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking is definetly worth it. I've been awake since 5:30 and got up at 6 o'clock in a fowl mood and did a bunch of shoveling after the plow guy left, I got an appointment this afternoon ugh I'm ready for Spring   now but I know it's going to be another 9 or 10 wks but hey my friends and Fellow Exers at least smoking isn't even a blimp on my Radar anymore, yay for Smokefree living....

My hubby Mark reminded me that it's Hump Day plus we've got one week pretty much over with in February now YAY! But no matter the weather or anything else that's happening in life once we've quit smoking then sticking with N.O.P.E and vigilance will give us a life of Freedom because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option we are EXers we don't Smoke anymore we live LIFE on LIFE'S Terms without the crutch of cigarettes....

I remember my early days and weeks of quitting smoking and I pray that I will - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - how difficult it was but with N.O.P.E and vigilance I'll continue stacking up my precious days of Freedom, anything worth having takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do because our lives literally depends on us to quit and stay quit! Is quitting smoking easy?  HELL NO! But is quitting smoking worth it! HELL YES!

We must believe in ourselves and be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and then we must persevere through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and know that we can get through the rough patches and relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes,  once we stop and think about how many decades upon decades that we smoked then it only stands to reason that it's it's going to take time to get to get that good place in our quits and I can tell you from EXperience that it's super fantastic when you get there so hang tough because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes but you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance and if you've been quit awhile N.E.F  - Never Ever Forget  - those early days and weeks of quitting smoking because none of us wants another Day ONE because that would suck big time but another Day WON is awesome, as Dale says keep them away from your face....

Whether we've been quit for a day, week, month, year, or five or even ten years it's a really good idea anyway to take care of ourselves whether we've ever smoked or not but I think it's even more important as Ex Smokers to be EXtra cautious  to take EXtra good care of ourselves because we don't want to be rundown by being overly Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired - anyone of these could screw up a perfectly beautiful quit so taking EXtra precautions by eating properly and trying to keep our anger in check or by calling a family member or friend and trying to take a nap if we can but knowing these things helps us to be EXtra Vigilant and stick with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever  - because it works when applied on a daily basis which will give us life of Freedom.....

Wishing each of you reading this the best day possible no matter what is happening in life we woke up I'm writing this so called blog and you are reading it so we're blessed to be able to go about our daily routine and being Smokefree makes life that much better but if you're struggling with remaining quit please know that you can and will get through the rough patches, keep your mind as well as your hands occupied which helps and stay close because we're all here to help you through them, it's going to take time but it's worth it to be Free so hang tough, you've got this quit believe it....

I'm ready for Spring!

Whether you live in a snowbelt like I do or you live in Florida or California February weather will be what it will be because we have no control over it but we've got complete control over how deal with it and we definetly have complete control over whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke is the best decision that any of us will ever make for ourselves I consider quitting to be a gift that keeps on giving day after day, week after week month after month and year after year, Quitting smoking is definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable and with N.O.P.E and vigilance then there's no way we can fail because we know that - S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - as Dale says - the only way out is through  - and - keep them away from your face!  It's time to take back your life if you haven't already and if you're having a rough patch know that we're here for you ask for HELP and they'll be people coming to help you through it but you must wait for a few minutes or so for people to get on line to help and if you have to Sit On Your Hands while you're waiting because There's No Way That You Can Smoke If You're Sitting On Your Hands but seriously do whatever you have to to protect your precious quit it will get easier and easier with time under your belt but you must go through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings first, if you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the cancer sticks but boy oh boy it's so worth it to be Free.....
