2018

I'm ready to say goodbye to January and hello to February I hope it's a good month for all of us yay that it's a short one so let's kick back and say yay for another Day WON this evening and continue stacking up those precious Smokefree Days in Feb. Sticking with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever - Works when applied on a daily basis and the longer we're quit the better life gets and you realize that there really is life after Cigarettes and it's super fantastic....

I'm so thankful this morning to read Nancy's comment on Ellen's blog that she made it home last night here's a very gentle hug to you xo Youngatheart.7.4.12 xo and sweet elvan I hope today is a much better day for you and Mike and I pray that you can get a handicap parking space so you don't have to walk any distance xo.  To anyone on the fence about quitting smoking or to anyone struggling with your quit  please know Life is full of ups and downs but once we're free from the clutches of the horrid nicotine poison like Nancy and Ellen and Ellen's husband Mike then you can deal with life on life's terms and know just how much better life is without the cancer sticks especially when it comes to our health plus any surgeries that may need to be done, going under and coming out of anesthesia should be much better and the healing process definetly is! There's nothing but positives to quitting Smoking but you need to get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings first and you will get to that point where you realize how much better life is as an Ex Smoker but you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E.  Not One Puff Ever and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option. I'm so glad that I bit the bullet and stopped playing Russian Roulette with my life because life is way too short to knowingly continue slowly killing myself! If you ask me if quitting smoking was easy? I'd be honest and say HELL NO!!!! But if you ask me if it was worth it? I'd have to smile and say HELL YES!!!! Quitting smoking is the right choice and I consider quitting to be a gift to ourselves and our families and I also consider our quits to be a gift that keeps on giving day after day after day, week after week month after month and Lord willing Year after year, Quitting smoking is definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable and vigilance is Key to a lifetime of Freedom!!!!!

Stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance and live a Smokefree life at first it's a downright struggle but with some time under your belt it's worth it to be Free so hang tough because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes ....

Quitting smoking and plowing forward never looking back EXcept to remind ourselves that life as a Smoker is done and our Lives as an Ex Smoker is the LIFE that's definetly worth living and knowing that it takes time to get to the Umph but it'll happen for each person quitting smoking but in order to EXperience it and those awesome Aha moments you must believe it and stick with your quit and you'll be so glad you did.....

It's been a fairly long January with frigid temps, snow storms, mixed bags of weather and just plain rain and of course the January thaw and now we're back in the deep freeze many of you also living in a snow belt know that January can be a long month but it actually wasn't too, too bad this year for me compared to some years anyway life happens whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke is the best decision that any of us will ever make for ourselves I consider it a gift that we've given ourselves which is the gift of LIFE and its the ONE Gift that keeps on giving day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year because quitting smoking could most certainly add years to our lives and give us a much better quality of living and I for one am enjoying my Freedom from the clutches of the nicotine poison, our 8 year old grandson Mason came to spend the night he's still sleeping, we've got the whole day planned out including going to Tim Hortons and sitting in front of the fireplace him with his chocolate milk and timbits and me with a coffee these are the simple things in life that makes the world go round and smoking doesn't deserve to be part of the equation because life is so much better without the Cancer Sticks but you must believe it and keep stacking your precious DOF so you can get to that point where you realize just how good life really is as an Ex Smoker,  here's a silly pic of us from last evening.....

I always want to remember my day ONE and first several wks to follow - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget - how difficult it was getting through the rough patches so why on God's Green Earth would we take the chance of relapsing by letting our defenses down, I push vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option for any of us so don't become complacent and lose the best gift that anyone of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE! Quitting smoking is a Choice and remaining quit is also a Choice and Vigilance is Key to a lifetime of Freedom . Is quitting smoking easy? HELL NO!!!! But is quitting smoking worth it? HELL YES!!!!! Remembering Day ONE and how much it sucked!!!! But isn't it super fantastic each evening being able to to look in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON!!!!! If you're reading this and just thinking about quitting then it's time to take back your life and quit and if you're struggling hang on tight and don't let go because you can get through the rough patches and come out the other side smiling and realising that life really does get better and better without the crutch of cigarettes but you must believe it and keep stacking your precious DOF....

Life happens whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke during stress and anxiety or whatever the situation or emotions is what we must do to remain Smokefree no matter what is going on in our lives we can get through it without the crutch of cigarettes and hopefully we'll be around to enjoy the upcoming holidays including Christmas in 11 months   love you all xo stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option and life really does get better and better without the Cancer Sticks, saying YES to Smokefree living and smiling each evening because you made it through another Day WON totally Rocks.

I really hope that you Will have a super fantastic Birthday Nancy Youngatheart.7.4.12 because you deserve the best in life, I wish I lived much closer so I could take you out to your favorite restaurant and try to make your day as special as possible, huge loving hug coming your way. XO. I invited everyone for a big piece of virtual chocolate cake.

It's been hectic here the last couple of days and hubby had an appointment yesterday to get some teeth pulled and partial plates put in it's only a 40 minute drive from here and even though schools were cancelled and quite a few places didn't open the dentist office was open, schools are cancelled again today but Mark went to work I worried yesterday  but he got there and got back and everything went well but super expensive that's for sure but he had to have them and he sure deserves them, anyway I'm rambling. We had roughly 7 inches of snow down when he left before the mixed bag of weather came in so I shoveled the steps off cleaned the car off then the plow truck came so I payed him and went back out and shoveled the front of the garage and the back steps so I was really tired, I was talking to someone yesterday that's relapsed quite some time ago so I'm not sure where my brain was last night but I believe this is only my third smokemare and the other two I had a Cigarette in one hand and a drink in the other hand I'm a recovering alcoholic for almost 7 yrs now so that was a double Whammy. I woke up about 1 am last night even though I've never met Kathy (Strudel ) and Nancy ( Youngatheart.7.4.12 ) in person they were in my Smokemare I actually lit a cigarette I have no clue where it came from but I took a drag and Kathy and Nancy were looking right at me I was dumbfounded and they said you must change your quit date and start Day ONE again but whew thankfully it was only a Smokemare!!!! oh by the way we were at a beach somewhere Kathy and Nancy were sitting at a patio table with an umbrella and I was sitting on a lounge chair strange eh? For me this smokemare reminded me of why I push vigilance because our lives literally depends on us to stick with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - as Dale says  - keep them away from your face. Here's a pic of my dog Sam's run this morning, I got to do some more shoveling in a bit  hummmmm I wonder why I was on a beach in my smokemare hummmmm!

Quitting smoking is the best decision that any of us will ever make for our health, family and most importantly our Life, if you're struggling hang on tight and don't let go because you can get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings to get to that point where you realize just how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes! Is quitting smoking easy? HELL NO!!!!! but is quitting smoking worth it? HELL YES!!!!!! There's definitely life after Cigarettes and it's our Choice to bite the bullet and take back our lives from the clutches of the nicotine poison and start living a life of Freedom, I have over three and a half yrs of Smokefree living and am thankful every morning to be Free and am thankful for this awesome community and all of the caring people that helped me through the rough patches to get to where I am today and remember that anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and once you get enough time under your belt you'll be thankful that you took back your life so sticking with N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever  and vigilance is Key to success because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option. I thought of you Nancy when I saw this quote Henry Ford.

Life is way too short so we must look after ourselves because if we don't no one else can do it for us! Quitting smoking was the best decision that I've made in my life because it's given me a life of Freedom and more quality time with family especially the grandchildren which is my bright spot in life, quitting smoking is the best gift that anyone of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE and it's worth all of the withdrawals,  moodswings and broken up sleep because once you get through those rough patches you'll realize that LIFE is soooooo much better without the crutch of cigarettes and once you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's bound to take time to relearn life without the cigarettes because every blessed thing we did was wrapped around the smokes so chin up and know that you can make it through to a good place in your quit but you must believe it and keep stacking your precious DOF....

Everyone has their own reasons for quitting smoking mine was finding out that I have mild copd that's when I realized I wasn't invincible and bit the bullet and read everything I could about quitting smoking and remaining quit right here on this site which really strengthened my resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom, if you were to ask me if it was easy in the first few weeks of quitting I'd have to be honest and say HELL NO!!!!! But if you asked me if quitting smoking was worth it I'd be saying HELL YES!!!!! Because it's wonderful to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a cancer stick, it's definetly difficult to say the least but very but very Doable and with the right Mindset we can do just about anything We put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health, family, wallet but most importantly your LIFE!!!!

I've known for long, long time that I love being an Ex Smoker but if anyone asked me that in the first few weeks of my quit I might have bit their head off and totally freaked out because I had horrendous cravings and withdrawals plus moodswings and lack of sleep but I was also determined and totally committed to succeed plus I promised myself the night before quitting that I'd never pick up another cigarette no matter what and I don't break promises to anyone including myself but it's finding this community and reading everything I could about quitting smoking and remaining quit that really strengthened my resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom and this site helped me to believe in myself that quitting smoking Is Doable so I hung on tight and made it through to a wonderful place in my quit and if you're reading this and struggling you can succeed so keep moving forward and stacking up your Days WON with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option, there's definetly Life after Cigarettes but you must believe it and know that we're here to help you through the rough patches, you can do this....

Let's all say YES to Freedom and stacking up our day's WON because as long as we keep moving forward our days turns into weeks then months and years of Smokefree living, once we get through the rough patches then it's like WOW!!!!  Being an EXer is super fantastic, it's awesome, splendiferous, stupendous, spectacular, fabulous, wonderful, humongous, ginormous and totally precious being able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however is the greatest feeling ever actually that's not EXactly true the best feeling ever is being able to breathe easier because breathing is essential to living so quit smoking now if you haven't already and if you're struggling chin up and hang on tight and don't let go because you can get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and you do it by moving forward one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour minute or even one second at a time as long as you keep moving forward and stacking up your precious DOF then each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON! Please know that we're all here to help you through the rough patches just let us know how we can help you, blog Help and we'll be here but you might have to wait a few minutes or so but they'll be someone right along probably many will be here to help you through, Quitting smoking is definetly difficult to say the least but very Doable believe it....

Once we've  committed ourselves to succeed  in quitting smoking then we must persevere through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and once we're we've made it through and are enjoying our new found Freedom then we need to go about our daily lives while remaining vigilant because things happen good or bad that  could throw us out of whack with our quits and think hummmmm just ONE!!!!!!! But if we're vigilant we know that's a downright LIE!!!!  Life can be full of happiness or damned frustrating which it's been for me lately but smoking certainly isn't the answer for anything and once we've committed ourselves to our quits then we stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option, life is full of ups and downs but for us EXers Smoking can't be part of the equation because we live life on life's terms without the crutch of cigarettes....

Once we commit to quitting Smoking then with perseverance we keep plowing forward stacking up our precious Days WON with N.O.P.E and vigilance then with Time under our belts we finally realize that there's definetly Life after Cigarettes and it's it's super fantastic so if you're struggling hang on tight and don't let go because you can get through the rough patches and come out the other side smiling and realising that YAY it's really True, life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand .  Deep breaths, chin up and know that we're here for you and your precious quit so have a great Hump Day, there's only two more Hump Days in January  you gotta love that, I sure do!

Once we've quit smoking we must remember that life Will happen whether we smoke or not and choosing Not to Smoke during happiness, after a job well done, stress and anxiety or whatever the emotion you can and will get through each situation you come upon without the crutch of cigarettes with N.O.P.E and vigilance, by believing in yourself and being willing, determined and committed to your quit, it's definetly not easy especially in the early days and weeks but it's very Doable and vital to your health, I remember some very stressful situations in my early months, going to a funeral of a dear friend that passed away from Cancer with my husband that also quit 2 and a half months before I did, it was very difficult and the URGE  for Me to reach out and bum a Cigarette from ONE of the half dozen people standing outside of the funeral home on a snowy cold day in November was ALMOST OVERPOWERING but I squeezed my husband Mark's hand and we said hello and continued to go inside ALMOST meant that I was in CHARGE whether I relapsed or Not, I chose to continue stacking up my DOF. We all have our triggers that was just one of mine but we all have the CHOICE to continue stacking up our precious Days WON because S.I.N.A.O - SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION (ANYMORE)....

I'm definitely not a poet but I thought I'd share my silliness anyway I'm going to stick with what I do best which is baking bread, I was playing around with some words while my yeast was rising and this is what I come up with!

I quit smoking because I was doing quite a bit of coughing and choking

So I thought if I don't quit, I'll end up croaking so I quit being a bloke

And broke the yoke and quit the smokes!

And so can you so don't be a bloke!  Okie Doke.

Quitting smoking Is the wisest decision that anyone of us can ever do for ourselves and I believe that quitting is the gift of LIFE our lives literally depends on us to quit poisoning ourselves and to take control of our lives before it's too late, it's time to take back your life while you're  still on this side of the grass or this side of the snowbanks if you're in a snowbelt like me but seriously we all know that smoking kills and it doesn't matter who you are, it kills slowly so it's time to educate yourself and take back your life from the clutches of the nicotine poison and start living a life of Freedom with N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever and vigilance you will be Smokefree because if you stick with your precious quit then there's no way you can Fail and besides that if you continue to say  - S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON.

Once we make the decision to quit smoking and have the right Mindset we can do just about anything We put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for our health, family, wallet but most importantly our life because our lives literally depends on us to kick the nicotine poison to the curb, quitting smoking is very difficult to say the least but very Doable but it's a Choice and it's the greatest Choice ever but when I was in the early weeks of quitting between the withdrawals, moodswings and lack of sleep if it wasn't for the support of this community and the tons of reading that I did here I'm not sure that I'd be celebrating three and a half yrs of Smokefree living today, here's a few things that helped me through the rough patches, I read Dales page concerning the first 4 months of quitting smoking over and over again, and also these phases, keep them away from your face, the only way out is through, Quitting smoking is Doable, N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever, S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option, N.E.F  - Never Ever Forget ! These are just a few things that helped me through to get to where I am today, plus H.A.L.T  - Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Once we make the decision to quit smoking then believe it, be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and here's another that I learned here and it's ONE of my favorites each day you get through is another Day WON! This one I thought up  Life is Grand without a Cigarette in Hand so if you're struggling keep plowing forward because it will get easier and easier with time under your belt and you'll realize just how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes but you must believe it and stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance because you will  succeed .....

Quitting smoking is a choice and it's the best choice that any of us will ever make in our lifetime, I consider it a gift and it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which keeps on giving day after day as long as we keep moving forward and stacking up our precious Days WON because saying YES to Smokefree living is super fantastic but first we all have to plow through the rough patches to get into that good place in our quits, for me I'll have 3 and a half yrs of Freedom tomorrow and believe me when I say I had horrendous cravings and withdrawals plus moodswings in the first few weeks of quitting but I made it through and so will any of you that may be struggling and once you get through then you'll realize just how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes stick with N.O.P.E and vigilance.

Once we make the decision to quit smoking and learn everything we can about quitting and remaining quit then it's time to pick a quit date and believe in ourselves and be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and we can and will be successful one precious Smokefree Day at a time or hour, minute or even one second at a time as long as we keep moving forward and stacking up our precious Days of Freedom then we'll be living a life of Freedom and it's great, it's definetly difficult in the few weeks but it's Doable and worth it to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to sneak off to suck on a cancer stick, stick with N.O.P.E. - Not One Puff Ever  and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O Smoking Is Not An Option.

I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere today our temps have come out of the deep freeze and is sitting at-1°Celcius or 31°F  this morning it's quite the change from-12°F, oh well, I believe in seasonal effective disorder, if I'm saying it wrong please correct me but between the frigid temps and the snow storms I'm a little down and haven't been getting out of the house other than shoveling snow but like quitting smoking I've been keeping busy to get my mind off the weather, I've been washing walls and of course the molding has to be done too and the drapes and so on so that's a good thing and like quitting smoking the Weather will get better the same as the cravings will eventually wane and get fewer and less intense with time and Spring will be wonderful to see even with the mud and with quitting smoking you'll be realizing just how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes and you should really be enjoying your new found Freedom.....

Are you on the fence about quitting smoking? Are you on day one? Are you struggling with remaining quit? We've all been on the fence and were on day one and we've all struggled with our quits, I know that I have, stay close to this community and read everything you can about quitting smoking and remaining quit because there's a wealth of information here to strengthen your resolve to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom, blog Help, write a blog and comment on our blogs, drink water, keep your mind as well as your hands occupied and if need be sit on your hands because there's no way you can smoke if you're sitting on your hands but seriously do whatever you have to get through the cravings don't relapse, you can do this quit, one hour, minute or even one second at a time as long as you keep moving forward then you'll be successful and each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON, quitting smoking is a choice and each day you can keep choosing Freedom and the longer you're quit the easier it will get, if you stop and think about how many decades you smoked then it only stands to reason that you have to get through the rough patches and relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes it's definetly difficult bur very Doable anything in this life worth having takes time and effort and being able to breathe is essential to living a life of Freedom so hang on tight and don't let go because you can and will be successful just keep stacking up your precious DOF.  On a different note this card came in the mail on Monday and it's definetly a keeper say Hello to George my buddy the Hump Day Camel, he might have came last Thursday or Friday but our post office and everything else was closed due to the massive storm that we had.

Being an Ex Smoker is very Doable but very difficult to say the least, when I found this site way back in June of 2014 just about a month before I actually quit I was looking for help because I'd failed in quitting smoking at least a half dozen times in the past so once I started reading everything I could about quitting smoking and remaining quit I began to realize that all of my past attempts were half hearted that I wasn't prepared to actually quit so I kept reading and learning as much as I could about this horrid addiction so I set up a quit date but I wasn't ready so I reset it for the following week and the night before quitting I promised myself that I would never pick up another cigarette no matter what was happening and for some reason I'd forgot about this site until on my third week when I was ready to tear my hair out or better yet rip someone's face off and jump in my car and buy a carton of cigarettes instead of just a pk but whew thankfully I remembered this site and got on line and started reading blogs I commented on one and up to that point I hadn't let myself be known, someone commented back to me and suggested that I write a blog and tell a little bit about myself and my quit so I did and I thank moody_9-18-13 for that and many of you commented on that blog and got me through another Day WON and so every time I was ready to scream I'd blog instead and there was always someone here and the same is true still, if you are struggling please Blog Help because we're all here to help you through the rough patches so hang on tight and don't let go because you can get through it so each evening you can look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON!

Quitting smoking is a choice that everyone has to make at some point and hopefully the choice will be made before a Dr says sorry but you waited too long to quit smoking so go home and get your affairs in order that thought crossed my mind when I realized I wasn't invincible and I'm lucky because I was only told that I have mild copd and need to quit smoking that was enough to scare the Crap out of me and I wanted to quit while I was on this side of the grass or on  this side of the mountain of snow if you're in a snowbelt like me but seriously we all know that smoking kills and by quitting can quite possibly give us a few EXtra yrs of a much better quality of living. I decided to quit playing Russian Roulette with my life and bit the bullet and if you were to ask me if it was easy in the first few weeks? I'd have to be honest and say HELL NO! But if you ask me if it's worth it? I'll be saying HELL YES! There's definitely life after Cigarettes and it's it's worth the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals, moodswings and the broken up sleep and everything else that goes along with quitting this disgusting horrendous addiction because this damned addiction doesn't care who gets sick with Cancer or some other smoking related illness and it doesn't care who you are, it just kills and it kills slowly but if you choose to quit you'll get through the rough patches and come out the other side smiling and realising that life really does get better and better without the crutch of cigarettes but you must believe it and keep stacking up your precious Days WON!  Life really does get easier and easier with time under our belts!

I'll be Extremely happy when this cold snap ends and I know that everyone else that's in this deep freeze clear across Canada and in the States Will be too, it's-12°F here but there's places even colder including North of the border from me with the wind the feel like temps are -30 but I am soooooooooo thankful that I wised up and threw the yuckies (cigarettes) away because all of us Exers I'm sure when we were still sucking on the Cancer Sticks still would have been outside coughing, choking and nearly horking up a lung or possibly even both freezing off our butts and hands because it's pretty hard trying to hold a smoke with gloves on but you know no matter what the weather even if a gorgeous mild sunshiny day the best gift that anyone of us can give ourselves is the gift of LIFE by quitting smoking and remaining quit because smoking kills and we all know it and with the right Mindset we can do just about anything We put our minds to and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for our health, family, wallet but most importantly our life, that's the reason that I went looking for a quit smoking site and thankfully found this one. I decided once I found out that I have mild copd that my life is worth so much more than the disgusting nicotine poison and with the help of this community I learned quitting smoking is absolutely Doable with N.O.P.E - and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option and if you've been quit awhile N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and weeks because another Day ONE would totally suck big time but another Day WON totally Rocks, let's be sure to take Extra good care of ourselves H.A.L.T - Hungry, angry, lonely, tired, I am so happy to be Free so hang tough because there's definetly Life after Cigarettes, it takes time and effort to get through the rough patches and it takes time to relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes but boy oh boy it's so worth it so hang on tight and keep stacking up your precious DOF.

Being an Ex Smoker is a choice that may even EXtend your life and it's Doable, difficult yes but Doable, if you  stop to think about how many decades that you smoked then it only stands to reason that it's going to take time to get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and moodswings and that it's definetly going to take some time to relearn life without the crutch of cigarettes but Like anything in this life worth having it takes time and effort and quitting smoking should be at the top of the list of things to do for your health, family, wallet but most importantly your LIFE  so if you're willing, determined and totally committed to succeed then you'll be successful and be able to enjoy a much better quality of living.....
