My husband quit 2 and a half months before I did after smoking 43 yrs he developed a really bad cough especially during the night which scared me at times so he quit even before his tests showed mild emphysema, I thought I was just fine so I continued smoking until a Dr had me take a breathing test which showed mild copd so hummmmm I figured I better quit too so I decided after 40 yrs of slavery to the disgusting Cancer Sticks that I'd better bite the bullet and stop playing Russian Roulette with my life so I found this awesome Ex community and read everything I could here about the strength of this addiction and after educating myself I was ready to start my quit journey, I believed that I was going to succeed, I told myself that I was willing, determined and 100 % committed and that I had the right mindset to kick the nicotine poison to the curb and start living a life of Freedom and reap the benefits of an Ex Smoker and that was 1,203 ginormous days ago or well over 27 splendiforous months ago. Quitting smoking is definitely difficult to say the least but it's absolutely Doable and and definitely worth it to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without wondering where to sneak off to suck on a yuckie  (cigarette) there's definitely life after cigarettes so if you haven't already quit smoking now is the time and if you are struggling please don't throw your quit away instead embrace it, nurture it and protect it and never ever take it for granted because it's the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves so keep moving forward and stacking up your precious Days WON! N.O.P.E and vigilance because S.I.N.A.O and we'll all be here to try and help you through the rough patches so choose to quit and then hang on tight and don't let go until you come out the other side smiling.
