2016

Yikes June 1st tomorrow , I wish that Spring, Summer and Fall would hang around a little longer because they appear to go so fast that I never have the time to enjoy the seasons but Winters seem to linger on forever, at least that's how it seems to me but the good news is that I won't smoke over the weather or anything else that's happening because yay I don't do that anymore and life is so much better without the crutch so if you haven't quit yet now is the time to while you are able to and if you are struggling hang on tight because it's definitely going to take some time but it's going to get easier .  Most of us have been smokers for decades upon decades and smoked over any and every circumstance and emotions and just plain habit but quitting smoking is doable and remaining quit is absolutely doable, kick the nicotine poison to the curb, take back your life, start counting the days of freedom and at the end of each day you can smile and say yay another day WON, N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever will give you a beautiful smoke free life because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - if you have been quit for awhile and life is rough and thoughts of smoking have been creeping into your mind. - please - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and wks of your quit because going back to day one would definitely suck so hang tough Victoria is right around the corner.

Marilyn 687 DOF The best bridge between hope and despair is often a good nights sleep.

Wishing everyone a wonderful smoke free day because smoke free is the only life for you and for me, once we get past the first few weeks of our quits especially past the three and four month mark, it's like a light bulb comes on or at least that's how it was for me because all of a sudden I was becoming a very Happy Quitter, stick with your quit because life without the crutch of cigarettes is absolutely worth all of the withdrawals and mood swings to get to that good place so keep moving forward and stacking up your precious days of freedom.

Marilyn 686 DOF and counting

I am hoping that everyone had a decent nights sleep and will enjoy a hassle free day and most importantly a smoke free one, let's always remember that N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever will give us a beautiful life of freedom as long as we apply it each and every day because our lives depends on remaining quit so please remain willing to continue this journey and keep plowing forward because it's going to take some time but it's going to get easier and life without the crutch of cigarettes is absolutely worth all of the withdrawals and cravings to get to that good place in your quit but you must hang on and keep stacking up those precious days of freedom to reap the benefits of an Ex smoker.

Marilyn 685 DOF

I hope everyone is staying vigilant and protecting your precious quits, I know that I am, each night I smile and am so thankful for another day WON and in the morning I always promise to be on guard for anything unexpected that may throw me for a loop, especially if I happen to be around smokers because it only takes a split second to screw up a perfectly beautiful forever quit so being vigilant while enjoying our freedom makes for a beautiful smoke free life .

Marilyn 684 DOF

My sister has been moved from the hospital that's two and a half hrs away to our hospital that's twenty minutes away for at least two weeks until there's a bed at the rehabilitation hospital that's an hr and a half away, yay, yay and yay once I get a couple of things done, I'll be off to the hospital. Once we get past the 3 or even 4 months of our quits, which we call NML land because cravings and urges can kick us right square in the face from out of nowhere for no particular reason at all, that's why we keep plowing forward to get past it to a much better place but we must always remain vigilant and protect our precious quits because we all know that if we allow ourselves to become complacent we could without even realizing it put one of those cancer sticks near our face, God forbid that we allow that so stay on guard while we enjoy the benefits of smoke free living and it's 100 % positive, relapsing is not an option because that's 100 % negative. Our lives are depending on us to remain an Exer so let's continue on stacking up our precious days of freedom so at the end of each day we can smile and say YAY ANOTHER DAY WON!!!

Marilyn 683 DOF

Being free from the clutches of the dreaded nicotine poison is definitely the best decision that any of us Exers have made in our lifetime, so if you're reading this and are deciding whether to quit or not, why not just bite the bullet and stop playing Russian Roulette with your life, read everything you can find about quitting smoking and remaining quit because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic, quitting is difficult to say the least but it's absolutely doable and vital for our quality of living, I smoked for 40 yrs and have over 22 months of smoke free living the only regret I have is not quitting decades sooner but at least I finally wised up and tossed the yakies away  (((cigarettes))) I have the freedom to do whatever, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to find a corner somewhere outside to suck on a killer cancer stick.

N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever will give you a beautiful life of freedom!

Marilyn 682 DOF

One week from today is June 1st, I hope everyone will have a great day today but I know that there's a few of our friends on site that are going through trials whether it's a health issue or loss of a loved one so let's continue sending good thoughts up. Let's also remember N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - especially when we make sure to N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and wks of our quits because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's time to take back your life while you can before it's too late so if you haven't quit yet today is the day and if you are struggling hang tough and stay close to this site because we're all here for you but you must believe in yourself and keep plowing forward because it's going to take some time but it's going to get easier, it's up to you to keep them away from your face and when you are getting ready for bed tonight you can smile and say yay another day WON!

I have a dentist appointment at 10 this morning for a filling so I hope anyone having a rough time with your quit will hang on tight because it's definitely going to take some time to get through the roller coaster ups and downs of withdrawals and mood swings but it's going to get easier and relearning how to deal with lifes emotions without the crutch of cigarettes takes time because most of us smoked for many, many decades so it only stands to reason that it's going to take some time but it's absolutely doable and vital to our health, family and even our wallets to quit and remain quit before it's too late once we reach that good place in our quits then we remain vigilant and protect our precious quits while enjoying our lives as Exers.

Marilyn 680 DOF

I am more tired this morning than when I went to bed last night but that's not a problem because I don't plan on doing much of anything EXcept relax besides finishing the load of bedding in the wash and hanging it out on the line, throwing in another load and hanging that out too, sweep and vacuum maybe scrub but probably not, fix hubby a lunch because he had to work today even though it's a holiday but not a paid one, then do the dishes and none of this requires a cigarette because once we make it through the rough patches in our quits S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option and if we get a thought of a smoke think N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever because as long as we N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days of our quits we can and will enjoy a beautiful smoke free life because QUITTING smoking is absolutely doable and remaining quit is absolutely doable as well, there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic but hey if you don't believe me, stick with your quit and prove it for yourself but you must believe in yourself remain willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and you can and will be successful and we all must remain steadfast in our precious quits and protect it with our lives because our lives depends on remaining smoke free, life is way too short to slowly kill ourselves with the horrid nicotine poison.

Marilyn 679 DOF

Good evening my friends and fellow Exers, my Dad and I got to visit my sister Marion at the hospital, she looks really good for everything she has been through, by next weekend she should be moved into a reabilitation center that's hooked onto a hospial that's an hr and a half away instead of two and a half hrs, plus this place that she'll be going to for at least two months is top notch, the best in NB. I wish everyone a wonderful evening, I am really tired so I probably won't be answering any comments tonight but I'm sending  ((((hugs instead))))

Marilyn

I'm headed over to my Dad's in a little bit, he lives a half hour from me and then we'll be headed to the hospital to visit my sister, the hospital is two and a half hrs away but we'll make a good day of it and probably have a lunch out. I bought a basket and a whole bunch of little things like a book of crossword puzzles and stuff like that plus some junk food like chocolate, her nurse said I could bring anything that her heart desires which made me really happy. It's going to be a long day for my 79 yr old father and me but I won't smoke over it because I don't smoke anymore and if we go by N.O.P.E and as long as we N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days of our quits then we realize that S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option anyway, stick with your quit if you are struggling then hang on tight because victory is right around the corner, quitting smoking is very doable, difficult to say the least but absolutely doable and remaining quit is also very doable and so very worth it .

Marilyn 678 DOF

It's going to be a beautiful day here in the Maritime provinces but what makes it even better is the fact that I'm heading towards the two year milestone before too long, well it's not until the 14th of July but it's not a pipe dream anymore because it's a reality, quitting smoking is absolutely doable and after 40 yrs of slavery to the dreaded nicotine poison I am free so come on anyone that is hiding in the shadows reading this, it's time to take back your life while you can before it's too late and for anyone who is having a rough time, believe me when I say it's going to take some time to relearn different ways of handling situations without smoking but wow it's so worth it to be able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to find a corner somewhere outside to suck on a killer cancer stick. I am going with my sister in law this morning to check out community yardsales on this Victoria Day long wk end and yay for not having to make sure that I have enough of the yakies ( cigarettes ) for the day or to make sure that I have a lighter or matches , it's wonderful living a life of freedom.

677 DOF

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and comments on my blog last night, I slept pretty good after talking to my sisters head nurse and knowing that the surgery went well and once I wrote the post here to let you know that things went well, I hit the sack at 10:30 .I probably tossed and turned till almost midnight and the next thing I knew it was after 6 this morning so I got up and hubby helped me stir up a batch of bread before he went to work so when he comes home for lunch he'll have fresh rolls with his lunch. If you are in the early day's or wks in your quit believe me when I say that life is so much better without the crutch of smoking. I don't know when in my quit that I realized that I can handle life so much better without smoking but I know that it was well over a year ago , it was an aha moment and what a great moment it was because I look back at my smoking days and can't believe that I smoked during major headaches which of course made the headache even more excruciating which in turn then smoked more, like dah that wasn't very bright or smoke with the flu or strep throat or whatever, what a powerful addiction but I am a Happy quitter and I know that there's many, many Happy quitters here and if you are struggling hang tough and stay close and if you don't believe me about being content being an Exer then please stick with your quit 3 or even 4 months because I believe that you will realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes and that will make you happy which will make me Happy too.

Marilyn 676 DOF

Whew, it's been a very long day trying to keep busy but having a hard time worrying about my sister having a five hour neck but she came through it like a champ, now I can relax a little. I talked to my sisters nurse and she said everything went well, yay and not smoking is definitely a good thing and thankfully I have no desire what so ever to smoke because I need to look after myself so I can be around for my family and friends, my Dad and I will take the two and a half hour drive on Monday to visit my sister and take her a little gift.

Marilyn

I hope this mornings blog doesn't dissappear like yesterday's but I can't do anything about it if it does other than scream and stomp my feet like a toddler, it's a dark dreary day in the Maritimes this morning which matches my mood but thankfully I have no desire to smoke, the only time I think about a cigarette is when I'm on this site and that's because I along with many others that stay here want everyone to EXperience the Freedom and enjoy life without the crutch of the dreaded nicotine poison, there's life after cigarettes so if you are struggling hang on tight and if you haven't quit yet now is the time, there's many precious folks on this site that needs our prayers right now, I don't need to mention names because God knows and most of you know so let's send up EXtra good thoughts for them and maybe add my 52 yr old sister that's two and a half hrs away in the hospital, she's going in for a five hr neck surgery on her disc's to hopefully get some mobility back on her hands and legs. I wish I could be there for my sister but I am having my own issues and she'll probably sleep around the clock for a day or two but I'm hoping to get down to see her over the weekend or Monday, then she should be more alert. When we're getting ready for bed tonight, let's smile and say yay another day WON because by quitting smoking and remaining quit, we've taken ourlives back which is the smartest decision that anyone of have ever made in our lifetime.

Marilyn 675 DOF

I wrote a blog this morning about smoking and smoking related illnesses especially cancer that can be backtracked to nicotine, I know 3 people right now that are dying of cancer, two are smokers, one is still smoking but only has a few months left at the most so I guess it isn't going to make much of a difference now.My ex brother in law has been in the hospital since March 7th from a heart attack and a stroke, he is 53 yrs old and hasn't had a cigarette since so I pray when he gets out that he will remain smoke free. I smoked on average 30 cigarettes a day for 40 yrs and all I got for my trouble was copd and hopefully I won't find out in a year or two that I have any life threatening illness like cancer that will cause me to die a slow painful death that's most likely smoking related. I will continue living a life of freedom from the dreaded nicotine poison because I know that there's life after cigarettes and all any of us needs to do to remain smoke free is to be vigilant each and every day and protect our precious quits with our lives because our lives depends on it and if you haven't quit yet don't you think it's time to take back your life while you are able to!!!

Marilyn

Well I had a blog post all done and posted it and bam, only the tag line showed up, oh well I guess I won't smoke over it or anything else because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option - because as long as I apply N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever - and I N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and wks of my quit then at the end of each and every day I can smile and say yay another day WON, stick with your quits because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic. This isn't anything like the original blog that I wrote but I have lots to do today so I wish everyone a wonderful smoke free Hump Day.

Marilyn 674 DOF

Good morning, I want to welcome back our friends and fellow Exers from Los Vegas you all were missed but I'm sure you had a wonderful time of fellowship and great food. I wish that everyone that hasn't quit smoking yet would hurry up and realize that quitting can save you a world of pain and suffering plus alot of money because life is short enough already without knowingly continuing to smoke and if you have quit and think just one or two wwon't hurt, think again because we are addicts and can never have just one but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there's life after cigarettes and I also know that quitting smoking is definitely doable but you must want to be free from the clutches of smoking so being willing, determined and totally committed to succeed it works plus N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever will give you a beautiful smoke free life because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option and if you've been quit for awhile and are going through some rough patches but also have had or do have some good days - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget your first few weeks of your quit because who wants to go back and start over again on day one when we can keep moving forward in our quits and at the end of each day we can smile and say yay another day WON.

Marilyn 673 DOF and counting

The weather said that we might wake up to the white crap but I was hoping that Mother Nature forgot about it but at least she gave my region just shy of 2 inches of much needed rain. Anyway once you get through the first few weeks of your quit and especially once you get into the 3rd and 4th months of being smoke free and you're relearning how to handle different situations without smoking you begin to realize that life is so much better without the crutch and you can go anywhere, anytime whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to find a corner to suck on a killer cancer stick. This past Saturday I hit the 22 month mark in my quit and I just happened to notice that this morning so hang on tight and keep moving forward and at the end of each day you can smile and say another day WON. I think our Las Vegas Exers should be back today, yay you were all missed but I'm sure you all had a wonderful time. :)

Marilyn

Mason is still sleeping and my other grandson Adam is coming over in a half hour for the day, my husband their Gramp is going to pick him up for me, anyway a friend and fellow Exer reminded me of a past blog  of mine that stuck in her head and she EXplained it to another of our friend on site so I will say it's absolutely splendiferous, spectacular, awesome, fantastic, fabulous and totally wonderful when we toss the yakies to the curb and take back our lives so our family ,friends and for me and for many of you our precious grandchildren can enjoy us without us sneaking off somewhere sucking on a disgusting yakie, which our Dale says he never smoked that brand, hee, hee, hee my friend and fellow Exer made me smile when she reminded me of this past blog and for anyone that hasn't taken your life back or if you are considering relapsing (Don't do it) - keep it or start your Quit and hang on tight because victory is right around the corner but you must be willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and you can and will be successful but it's going to take some time but you must believe in yourself and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there's life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic but hey if you don't believe me, that's fine please be my guest and prove it for yourself which would make me EXtremely happy because once we know that we can have a wonderful life of freedom from the dreaded yakies then we'll never want to go back to the slavery of the yakies  (cigarettes) - because life is grand without a cigarette in hand. (Yakies)☺

Marilyn 671 DOF

I'm late getting around this morning but my older sister called me early and we chatted for over an hr, she lives six hrs away in a different province so we try to keep in touch by phone. She doesn't have internet. Anyway I hope everyone will have a great day and if you are struggling hang tough and stay close to this site and if you haven't quit yet now is the time because quitting smoking is definitely difficult but absolutely doable and can save you a lot of pain and suffering from health issues that probably can be traced back to smoking so why not quit now or keep moving forward and hang on tight because victory is right around the corner, take your life back and once you get through the roller coaster ups and downs of mood swings and get to that good place in your quit then you can start to reap the benefits of an Ex smoker but hey, you don't have to believe me keep your quit and give yourself three months, four would be better because then you will realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes. Most of us smoked for decades upon decades and we were willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and yay we are stacking up our precious days of freedom  and counting and you can too because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic .

Marilyn 670 DOF

To all of you Exers getting together this weekend, I wish I could join you but since I can't be sure and enjoy some delicious restaurant food for me especially the deserts and I will thank you in advance :) have a wonderful relaxing time my friends. For the rest of us let's continue to enjoy our freedom from the dreaded nicotine poison while remaining vigilant and protecting our beautiful quits and let's N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days of quitting smoking because I know that I will never ever ever ever have another DAY ONE because I enjoy my smoke free life way too much to ruin my presious quit, I plan on going six feet under some day as an Ex smoker and Lord willing that day will be a long way off and at the end of this day we can smile and say yay another day WON. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Marilyn 669 DOF

It's 32 ° F right now but we're supposed to get into the low 70's today without the cold wind yay, that sounds great to me, my seven year old grandson has been getting off the bus here this week and will again next week. I live way back off the road so I walk down to meet him and it's wonderful to be able to do that without thinking that I should suck on a killer cigarette, life is so much better without the crutch so stick with your quit if you are struggling hang tough and stay close to this site because we're all here for you and believe me when I say there's life after cigarettes but hey, you don't have to believe me keep moving forward and before long you can experience it for yourself and start reaping the benefits of an Ex smoker, it's all of the little things that we used to do with a cig sticking out of our mouth like walking down a driveway to meet a school bus. I can do whatever I want now and go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without a disgusting cancer stick, I know that my family, friends and especially the grandchildren are happy and I know that I am thankful for taking back my life after 40 yrs of smoking and I know that you can too, have FAITH and believe you can SUCCEED and you will be SUCCESSFUL.

Marilyn 668 DOF and counting

Every day deserves a huge YAY especially when we've been living a life without the dreaded cancer sticks, whether you are new to your quit or possibly you're struggling with roller coaster ups and downs of mood swings be assured that it's going to get easier but it's going to take some time. Most of us smoked for decades so it only stands to reason that it's going to take some time to relearn different ways of handling situations without the crutch of smoking, believe that you can and will be successful, remain willing, determined and totally committed and you can and will be an Ex smoker and at the end of each day you can smile and say YAY another day WON , stick with your precious quit so once you get to that good place you can reap the benefits of being able to go anywhere, anytime whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where you can find a corner to suck on a killer cigarette, YAY for us Exers because quitting smoking gives us a beautiful life of freedom so hang on tight and get through the rough patches because it's definitely doable and definitely worth it.

Marilyn 667 DOF and counting

Losing a quit to me especially if we have several months under our belts in my opinion leads me to believe that vigilance was tossed out the window and complacency took over and bam the mind can play dirty tricks on us if we let our guard down because this addiction doesn't care how long we've been done smoking if it can find a way to trick us into just one it will. Always remain on guard and remain vigilant while enjoying our new found freedom, we probably all know long time quitters that's relapsed I have a sister who quit for 7 years and thought that a couple wouldn't hurt and 20 some yrs later after battling breast cancer she now has a little over a year smoke free. N.O.P.E means N.O.P.E and it absolutely works we just need to apply it on a daily basis because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option .I came across this article a couple of days ago.

He who wants milk should not sit on a stool in the middle of the pasture expecting the cow to back up to him.

If we work our quits we can and will enjoy our lives as Ex smokers because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic, quitting smoking is doable and remaining quit is also very doable but it's up to us individually to grab onto our quits and continue to hold on tight so we can smile at the end of the day and say yay another day WON. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Marilyn ☺

Let's have another smoke free day or if you haven't quit yet then why not pick a quit date and read everything you can find to educate yourself so when your day arrives you will be ready to tackle each day head on. Quitting smoking is doable and absolutely worth it. I woke up at 5:45 and looked out a window and the ground and car was covered in snow with the temp only being 30 degrees yak, this is May 9th then I realized hey this is Canada this really isn't abnormal and this crappy weather or anything else that may happen in this life certainly isn't worth screwing up a perfectly beautiful quit, we had some much needed rain yesterday afternoon and the weather said that we might get some snow and I guess we did but most of it is gone now. I hope all you Moms on the site enjoyed your Mother's day and I hope everyone will enjoy this day that we are fortunate enough to be blessed with and when we're getting ready for bed tonight we can smile and say another day WON and that's a wonderful feeling because we've taken back our lives and we're living a life of freedom because we now realize that there's life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic.

Marilyn 665 DOF

I pray that all of us have a wonderful day today especially us Moms, I plan on getting pampered somewhat between going to church and seeing my mother in law with hubby then meeting up with my father, brother and sister and going into the gravesite to put flowers on my mom's headstone and then back home. My son and fiance were in last night to bring me a gift and my daughter and her husband were here around 3 o'clock to get Mason and brought me a present and I gave her one too and wished her a wonderful Mothers Day as well. My husband and I are going relax with a movie tonight and I am going to attempt a homemade pizza and hope the diverticulosis will let me enjoy it. Let's continue stacking up our precious days of freedom today whether you're on day one or day 101 or 1001 or like me 654 because at the end of the day we can smile and say yay another day WON. Quitting smoking is absolutely doable and absolutely worth all of the rough patches to protect our health, we need to value ourselves and realize that we're not invincible that if we relapse we would be playing Russian Roulette with our lives. I prefer all of you and myself to continue our lives of smoke free living because there's life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic.

Marilyn

It's going to be a gorgeous day today, hubby just had a huge pancake breakfast which I didn't feel like this morning, Mason is still sleeping so here I am with you my friends and fellow Exers wishing you a fantastic day. If you are hiding in the shadows reading this then let us know you are here, maybe write a blog and tell us a little about yourself and your quit maybe we can help you in some way to quit smoking if you haven't yet or possibly strengthen your resolve to remain quit because if you are willing, determined and totally committed to be successful you can and will be. Let's be sure and remain on guard and protect our precious quits especially with summer coming and being outside lots and probably around smokers so we must remember why we quit and to N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the early days and wks of our quits because there's no reason on the face of this earth that's good enough to screw up a perfectly beautiful quit , remaining vigilant is key because at the end of each day being able to smile and say another day WON is absolutely wonderful and I love counting the days of freedom from the horrid cancer sticks.

Marilyn 663  DOF ☺

I hope that everyone had a wonderful day and are enjoying the evening or at least what's left of it. My grandson Mason has been here for the day and is spending the night with us, it's almost 9:30 here so it's time to tuck him in and I will probably fall asleep too. We were outside most of the afternoon so we should sleep like babies and I hope all of you my friends and fellow Exers will enjoy a good nights sleep tonight too.

Marilyn

I have an appointment this morning and then I'm picking Mason up for the day and possibly overnight so my daughter can sleep she works straight nights and her man works days there's no school today so it's going to be a busy day which is good, it reminds me of the first few weeks of quitting smoking because keeping your mind as well as your hands occupied is one of the best things we can do to get through the rough patches. I had the cleanest home around and did a lot of baking plus I read everything I could find on this site which helped me immensely to get to where I am today which I think is 663 splendiferous DOF and counting, I still have a pretty clean home and still do some baking, hee, hee but nothing like in the early days of my quit, distraction works and every once in awhile a crave would hit from out of nowhere so I would give my head a shake and say that I don't do that anymore and continue on with whatever I was doing, remember at the end of the day you can smile and say another day WON because none of us Exers ever want to go back to a day ONE, that's just plain scarey because we just don't do that anymore!

Marilyn

We are being blessed with some rain, I pray that Fort McMurray in Western Canada will get relief from this horrible fire that doesn't seem to be letting up but only getting worse from the heat and the wind, they need Rain desperately but no thunderstorms just rain. Unfortunately we have no control over Mother. Nature but we have complete control over our lives and what we put into our bodies so if you haven't quit yet now is the time to quit smoking and if you are struggling hang tough because we all know smoking kills and quitting can save us from dying a slow, horrible, painful death, quitting smoking is absolutely difficult to say the least but it's absolutely doable and absolutely worth all of the withdrawals, mood swings and the roller coaster ups and downs but you can and will be successful if you are willing, determined and totally committed, N.O.P.E - NOT One Puff Ever - which will give you a beautiful smoke free life because S.I.N.A.O - Smoking Is Not An Option so if you have been struggling - N.E.F - Never Ever Forget the first few weeks of your quit because each day you get through is another day WON and there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's up to us individually to grab onto our lives and take control and quit poisoning ourselves with the horrid nicotine poison.

Marilyn 661 DOF

I live in Eastern Canada which is desperately needing some rain and we're supposed to get some overnight and into tommorrow, and in Western Canada in Fort McMurray about 3400 miles away which is extremely dry too is in a major fire with thousands of people that had mandatory evacuations this morning with only a half hour to get out. Over 80 homes have burned up already thankfully no injuries or loss of life but the fire is still raging. We all know that we can't control something like this but we can control what we do with our lives and I read this article this morning about PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE, it's talking about alcoholics which I am a recovering alcoholic with over 5 yrs sober but in my opinion this also applys to smoking. It is the deadly game that on a dare, the first player inserts a bullet in the chamber of a six or nine shot revolver, spins the chamber, jams the barrel against his temple and squeezes the trigger. If he is lucky, the second player follows suit, then a third until everyone has taken the risk of someone being killed. Taking our first drag is something like that, I have no idea of what the difference in the odds would be but the penalty is alot worse because instead of dying quickly, we most likely would die a lingering death that could take months or even yrs of mental and physical torment so let's keep stacking up our precious days of freedom from the dreaded nicotine poison because there's definitely life after cigarettes and it's super fantastic, so let's always remain vigilant and protect our precious quits with our lives because our lives absolutely depends on it.

Smoke free is the only life for you and for me, quitting is difficult but anything worth having in life takes time and effort , before I quit smoking I thought I am fine even though I knew I should quit but never thought I could because I tried and failed so many times in the past but I know now that I wasn't willing to put my heart and soul into it and until I found out that I have copd which scared the crap out of me, I didn't really consider quitting but finding out that I wasn't invincible made me realize that it was time to take back my life. Finding this site back in June / 14 and hiding in the shadows reading everything I could find and finally commenting on someone's blog six wks into my quit and someone, Moody I believe suggested that I write a blog and tell all of you little bit about myself so I did and here I am 659 days into my quit. I am so thankful that I let myself be known because at that point I was on a roller coaster of ups and downs and mood swings, I would cry at nothing one second and want to rip your face off the next second. I didn't have a lot of company the first couple of months of my quit because nobody wanted to be around me which was perfect and thankfully I found this site and all of you my friends and fellow Exers, quitting smoking is absolutely doable and definitely worth it, I smoked for 40 yrs and now I am a prime example of a Happy Quitter.  There's definitely life after cigarettes so stick around and read everything you can and continue stacking up your precious days of freedom.

I didn't want to be stuck in the house baking bread over the weekend, especially where I need an hr and a half to bake it because we bake three oven fulls about every 9 or 10 days, 13 loaves and 10 rolls and it was just too nice so I got up at 6 this morning so my husband could help me stir it plus he greases the pans for me which helps me alot because of the arthritis in my hands , we had it in the bowl by 7. It's supposed to rain all day so it's a perfect day for doing it, hubby is off to work but will probably be home for lunch, fresh rolls will be part of his lunch. I wish everyone a wonderful day no matter the weather and if anyone is struggling in your quit, get busy doing whatever because it will help distract you whether you go for a walk, bake, clean, play games on the Internet or watch a movie. I watched alot of comedy and did EXtra baking and alot of EXtra housework in the first few weeks of my quit which got me over most of the rough patches and then I began to relearn different ways of handling situations without smoking, quitting is difficult to say the least but it's absolutely doable and absolutely worth all of the withdrawals and mood swings, hang tough and stay close to this site because we're all here for you and please remember to blog HELP if you are struggling to the point of being afraid that you may buy a pk, blog here and give us a chance to get you through it and remember at the end of each day you can smile and say another day WON, it's going to get easier but it's going to take some time to get to that good place , as long as you are willing, determined and totally committed to succeed and you believe in yourself you can and will be successful and you will enjoy a life without the crutch of cigarettes.

I am running late this morning so I will wish everyone a wonderful smoke free day, if you're having a rough patch in your quit hang on tight because victory is right around the corner and it's going to get easier as time goes on. Most of us smoked for decades upon decades so we have to hang tough and relearn different ways of handling situations without the crutch of cigarettes and it's absolutely worth all of the withdrawals and cravings to get to that good place but it's going to take some time but believe me it's definitely worth it.
